Monties 2019
Submitted by Robpado on Sun, 2019-05-05 18:33Gday All,
Read most of the the trip reports and info on doing monties trips with your own boat and there's a some goof info for sure.
What im after is the best Camp spots out the monties with preference to places that the tide does not dry out, been searching maps and charts and have a few in mind but really would like the experience of other that have done the trip a few times and know the area better.
We ideally wanna stay in the northern section but open to others experiences and stories. Photos of bays an camps are much welcomed.
Cheers guys
Rob

Bipartisan political humor
Submitted by Anytime Brad on Fri, 2019-05-03 12:00While walking down the street one day a Member of Parliament is tragically hit by a truck and dies.
His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter.
'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.'
'No problem, just let me in,' says the man.
'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.'
'Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the MP.
'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.'
And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he went down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he found himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and dressed in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.
They played a friendly game of golf and then dined on lobster, caviar and champagne
Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly & nice guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it's time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and wave whilst the elevator rises....
The elevator rises and the door opens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.
'Now it's time to visit heaven.
24 hours pass with the MP joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.'
The MP reflects for a minute, then he answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.'
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
When the doors open he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.
He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.
The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. ‘I don't understand,' stammers the MP.
'Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?
The devil looks at him, smiles and says,
'Yesterday we were campaigning -
Today you voted’.

Out today with a surprize catch
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Sun, 2019-04-21 20:25Got out today hitting the water at gentlemans hour of 8 am . Went out to target kgs to start and only managed 1 with a lot of pickers about. As the wind dropped we went out to the 40 mtr mark but not a lot biting at all. The water was a bit dirty even out there. Brenden nailed a nice cuttlue which ended up painting the boat and Sandy ,didnt think they would hold that much ink i t looked like about a litre sprayed everywhere.
Apart from a few undersize pinks not much was happening then both Sandys rod and mine went nuts. Sandy managed to get a first bring up a double header of decent size salmon and with mine after loosing one down deep the second one on was going nuts jumping well out of the water dragging a big sinker with it . Sandy nailed a sambo and to finish it off i got a small gummy . Long day but was better than sitting at home .

Round 5
Submitted by Justin M on Wed, 2019-04-17 17:11An interesting round of footy to be had...more upsets and strange results looming perhaps? Fuck knows because the way my tipping is going, I have no idea what the buggery is going on. Anyway, my two cents worth as follows...
Pies and the Bears first up at the Gabbatoir which is shaping as their first sold out home game in nearly ten years....Bears but only just. Should be a cracker in any case.
Kangawhos against the Bombers...no freaking idea with this one really.
You'd think the Eagles should do the Power in even if they looked a little ratty last week against the Dockers.
Giants to get over the Dockers after a great win against the Cats.
Melbourne to edge the Saints
Richmond and Sydney....another hard one to tip. Swans definately not themselves this year, nor Richmond but it was a good win against the Power last week (totally borking my tips like most of the results)
Doggies to get over AFL's version of the Audi logo, Carlton...get it...OOOO??? Fuck ya, its funny.
Crowbots to beat the Saints
And the Cats to bounce back against the midfield-less and depth-less Hawks. These clashes usually result in tight and gripping contests but not this time I'm afraid.

Nissan Navarra Clutch
Submitted by Justin M on Tue, 2019-04-16 18:26So my good samaratin efforts at helping an old bloke stuck in the sand just south of Jurien yesterday ended in the clutch carcking it. I know its going to be a pricey fix either way and haven't spoken to my mechanic yet about repairs as I just got back today but am looking at what's the best way to proceed. I've seen that the clutches on the post 2005 D40's (mine is a 2014 model) can be a bit dicky when put under a bit of stress.
Would it be worth it looking at after market clutch and flywheel kits? Any recommendations if so?
Cheers fellas

Anyone else following the Israel Folau debacle
Submitted by Alan James on Mon, 2019-04-15 17:39Had his comments only mentioned that drunks, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolators would go to hell if they didn't repent no one would have raised an eyebrow however by the adding homosexuals to the list Rugby Australia is seeking termination. Inclusion working to exclude it would seem.

Fuel tank filler location
Submitted by bradz on Mon, 2019-04-15 08:56Hi guys
Im nearing the completion of my boat rebuild but have some small issues to resolve. The first being the placement of the fuel filler.
Normally the fuel filler for an under floor tank is fitted either on the transom or above the gunnels. I understand this avoids fuel spills inside the boat. However, do you think there would be a problem with filling the tank directly via a filler in the top of the tank?
All comments are welcome.

Is anyone here in Cervantes?
Submitted by Swompa on Wed, 2019-04-10 21:35Heading up with the family on Saturday for a couple of nights, towing a caravan. A mate is heading up on Sunday and was planning to bring my boat though he isn't getting there until the afternoon and the forecast is simply rubbish on Monday and Tuesday.
Long shot I know, is anyone in Cervantes with a boat this weekend? i am keen for a fish on Sunday and will happily pay my way.
Better yet, does anyone have a tinny that they wouldn't mind loaning out? 30 years experience playing on boats from 3m to 19m...
Just keen to get off the beach.
Cheers
