WAFL tragics
Submitted by randall df223 on Thu, 2016-11-24 21:52All you WAFL tragics. Check out this Facebook page and see if you can help out identifying some of the players from years gone by. Hoping that Karin can convince her father to help out for the early sixties' players. There is a great shot of fred castledine sitting on Colin's shoulders taking a great mark.

Bait board & Live bait tank
Submitted by lurch on Tue, 2016-11-22 21:13Installed a new bait board/live bait tank today from Baitmate.
Needs plumbing etc but can use the tank as an ice box till that is sorted, the 3 drawers will come in very handy as storage is limited on my boat.
Very impressed with the build quality and can recommend Rod for his customer service also. Nothing was too big a drama and cannot see this one folding under pressure like the last one.

Don't get between a fisherman & a tackle shop
Submitted by Shimka on Sat, 2016-11-19 18:24Just a rant about the dopey woman that saw me coming the opposite way through the car park at Bluewater Morley today but decided to pull out of the parking spot she was already in so she could park on the road through the car park instead, blocking all traffic from accessing parking from the Galleria end. She saw me coming but pulled right in front of me & stopped anyway. To make matters worse, she got out her car & went into the gym. This behaviour doesn't fly with me & I had nowhere else to park so I stopped 10cm from the front of her car & after about 30 seconds of her not reappearing I got out & stuck my head in the door she disappeared through asking her "Are you going to move your car or what? You're blocking the road". I went back to my car without waiting for a response figuring she would just come out, I would back up a bit to let her get out easily & then continue on with my day. Not so. Instead I got a rude "Get out of my effing way so I can get past. You're blocking my way". This again didn't sit well with me so I simply looked at my Patrol, looked at her Holden Caprice, smiled & said "No worries love, just for that attitude, I'm not moving, you can back up & go around me". There was space for her to get past because she was right at the end of the row of diagonally parked cars. Those same cars were blocking me from getting around her at all. She didn't like this, told me to go get effed & sat down in her car & started texting or something stating that she wasn't going to move. Two can play that game I thought, so I did the only thing I could... I left my car right where it was, locked it up & went shopping in Bluewater. Don't try to out wait a fisho that's in a tackle shop, it just isn't going to happen. When it was all said & done the cops ended up rocking up, getting both sides of the story, grabbing my details then telling me, "She's wasting our time as well as yours mate. We'll deal with her now. Have a nice day". Last I heard she was screaming at the two cops at the top of her lungs some crap about them letting me go when I had blocked off the road way. She had the kind of self important attitude that makes me think she might have ended her conversation with cops a few dollars lighter in her bank account.
Yes I could of reversed up a bit, pulled back out onto the road then re-entered the car park from the other end but seriously, why the hell should I have to? I was all of 10m from this woman, coming the opposite way when she made eye contact with me, clearly saw which way I was going, then pulled across in front of me & stopped in the road anyway. I did briefly contemplate simply hooking up the tow strap & moving her wether she like it or not but I thought that probably wouldn't end so well for me with the coppers, so thought better of it. Inconsiderate bottom dwellers do my head in. Rant over, hope it brings a smile to a face or two, even if you think I was in the wrong (get ya head read
if ya do).

Not fishing related but after opinions/advice about driveways.
I am looking at widening / replacing my existing driveway so can park boat on it easier
Not sure whether to go for pavers or exposed concrete aggregate
What are pros and cons of both and which would you recommend
Also any recommended installers
Cheers for any advice

Back in Business
Submitted by Dale on Sat, 2016-11-05 15:51Got the new donk fitted this afternoon. Just need to drill new holes since the bolt hole pattern is different to the last one and chase up some tamper proof bolts and nuts. Many thanks to Nick at Jetpower for a great seamless deal. Looking forward to running it in, might see me on the river during the week. Wifes car has been relegated to the street, but it's a small price to pay.

Outboard Stolen
Submitted by Dale on Sun, 2016-10-30 13:44My boat was parked up in secure ( and I use that word loosely ) storage and some prick has relieved my dinghy of its outboard, sometime between last Thursday and today. Done a report with the police but don't expect I'll see it again. Will talk to the people at the storage place tomorrow to see if something shows up on their security. Nothing is sacred.

Point to Point Cameras
Submitted by Dale on Sat, 2016-10-29 07:17Watch out for these when heading south on Forrest Hwy, they seem to be working now. They are about 40-50ks apart and measure the time it takes for your vehicle to go from one to the other. Both south and north lanes have them. First camera is shortly after where the Old Coast Rd joins the Hwy and the second is down Myalup way.

Sound Marine Products
Submitted by Ashen on Fri, 2016-10-28 22:59Has anyone bought things from Sound Marine Products? They have an add on Gumtree advertising cheap GPS combos etc. I had a look at their website and a lot of the prices are half of "retail".
Too good to be true?
