Shimano Sephia Egixile squid jigs.
Submitted by danno on Sun, 2010-11-14 16:27Hey all
As most of you know i like to buy new jigs:) its an addiction i swear.
One jig that is sort of new to the market is the shimano Egiexile sephia squid jig by shimano. Yesturday i went into tackleworld to visit brenz and pick up a few jigs:P
I bought 5 new jigs 2 of the white clear ones, a brown, a pink and a orange.
I started in close with the 3.0 white one near the cliffs, I got one squid there then got bored so moved out to nailed a bigger one on the brown 3.5. The squid was so agro that it bit holes in my new jig .
I only caught 2 squid on them 2day because i was trying to use all my other ones but i realy like their looks and the way the sit in the water.
So if your a mad squider like me add one of these (or 2 or 3 or more) to your arsonary.
Cheers Danno

Jurian - Cray / Crabs?
Submitted by tonyb on Sun, 2010-11-14 15:50Guys
Heading to Jurian mid week. Wondering where you would put your crays pots at this time of the year (depth etc)? Also, I heard the Marina up there holds crabs, would it be worth talking up crabs nets?
Thanks for any advise you can offer.

Shimano Tyrnos 50 (2-speed)
Submitted by Brynner on Sun, 2010-11-14 15:32I have just purchased and received a Tyrnos 50 from the US this week and was just looking for some good ideas for the perfect rod that will match the reel. I'm going to put some Daiwa braid on the reel and have a few ideas about the rod, but thought some of the members might own one and pass on their selection. With the US dollar at a good exchange rate at the moment I managed to pick the reel up for $350-00, which was an excellent buy if you look at current Australian prices.

Radar
Submitted by mightymouse on Sun, 2010-11-14 12:22Hi Guys,
I have seen a couple of boats at the ramp this year with radars on their hardtops
As I don’t have one and don’t know how they work
What exactly does the radar here in perth do eg..just to pinch peoples spots or for auto/pilot
Anyone here have one and what are they used for .

Todays New Session
Submitted by DieHard on Sat, 2010-11-13 19:44Hey all,
as the Club Capricorn Shark bash is coming up soon i figured i would hit hillarys and find some buffys to stock up the freezer with...
anywayz with a mate, matt (Fisherboy) and I went searching for new buffy territory! after scanning the water i found a very promising spot. after getting an ear ache from my mate consistently saying theres no fish, i had just hooked up and landed a buffy!!!
i started burleying up with some dough and along with the blowies came a SHIZ load of Zebra Fish and Buff Bream.
IN the end of 1 and a half hours we had landed 15 fish, but only keeping 10, 1 buffy and 9 Zebbies!
we left them biting as we had to go...
we will return to "Secret Spot L"
ahaha

jigging today, nebraska
Submitted by Markie on Sat, 2010-11-13 15:39Hey guys went jigging today on nebraska charters. Went jigging in shallowish water close to rotto and got onto a few smaller sambos before heading out deep. We got deep and second drop i got hit hard followed by dreamtime(james) and now onto a double hook up of solid sambos. The sambos were tiring out and we could start to see colour before you guessed it.. we saw COLOUR haha sharked only metres before the boat. The sambo was a ripper would have easily been 40 plus kilo sambo and then same with james got sharked to another solid sambo. Will get pics of the half or more i got back big momma fulll of eggs devistating it was killed. Hanif got into some decent sambos to and boated them in one piece. His gf doing well with the jigging and hooking up on a few also. James jigged a tuna aswell with hanif getting one final sambo in the shallows and so then after that we headed in early, was blowin nutzz.

Squid from Hillarys to Rotto
Submitted by saltwater charters on Fri, 2010-11-12 21:48Just paid $15 for a Rotto Squid at the fish shop and it's 1 thing I can't seem to catch .Was worth it though!. Can anyone help me out on where to get them near Hillarys as would love to take kids/wife out for a feed. Do you put a sinker under your jig to get the right depth[patternosta] or just float down to weed? What's the best colour, size of jig to use? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Craig

Recreational marina planned for Rous Head Harbour at Fremantle
Submitted by Colin Hay on Fri, 2010-11-12 09:16Recreational marina planned for Rous Head Harbour at Fremantle
The proposed Rous Head Harbour marina at Fremantle is likely to include more than 100 boat pens and will also feature cafes, offices and tourism facilities.
Premier Colin Barnett today announced expressions of interest had been invited from the private sector for development proposals to create a vibrant new mixed-use marina.
“The provision of additional boat pens in this area was an election commitment of this Government to help meet the needs of recreational boat users,” Mr Barnett said.
“Demand for boat pens in the metropolitan area is strong and continues to grow - the Rous Head marina is an outstanding opportunity to create an attractive, well-located development to help meet this need.
“The marina plans are still very much at the conceptual stage, with some preliminary work done by Fremantle Ports and the Department of Transport on the kind of mixed-use facility that could be developed in this location.”
Onshore boat stacking facilities, a ferry terminal and commercial space for charter vessels will be considered in the development.
“Ensuring the proposed marina is compatible with Fremantle’s working port is essential and will be a key consideration in assessing proposals,” the Premier said.
Transport Minister Simon O’Brien said prospective developers would be encouraged to prepare their own innovative designs to balance the interests of Fremantle Ports, the State and the community.
Public access to North Mole and Rous Head Harbour would also be improved by a new road around land newly reclaimed as part of the Inner Harbour deepening.
Mr O’Brien said planning, cultural heritage and environmental approvals would be obtained for the marina project.
“Given the number of issues to be taken into account, community consultation will be important in progressing to the more detailed planning stage,” he said.
A call for Expressions of Interest will close on February 11, 2011.
Short-listed proponents will then detail their proposals for the development and operation of the marina and related facilities on a long-term lease basis.
