Formosa boats

Hey guys, just wondering if anybody has heard of or own a Formosa boat? I know they're made in Queensland and look very sturdy, plus they are also very competively priced compared to other boats i've looked at. I just need to know what the ride quality is like cause i'm very interested in one.

tuesday/wednesday

Decided to go up to Moore river for a fish instead of having a big one and going to Ascot. Me and Nicki (the wife ) Jackson 8 Heath 4 and Austin 1 all headed off and picked up Sherbert on the way all set for a relaxing afternoon fishing then camping on the beach. After the road works and some bumpy driving (4x4) we were at the spot now all we had to do was set up the sun shade then the tent and last and most importantly the fishing rods. A big thanks to Sherbs for his help we were all done in no time but it was never going to be Quick enough for Heath who was asking flat out to have his rod set up cause he wanted to fish.

The afternoon was pretty slow and we got lots of sand whiting 2 hooks two at a time and Sherbs had 3 hooks and got 3 at a time and not too much else. Nicki and the kids had a swim, crazy if you ask me as to me it was freezing but they seemed to enjoy it. Then a lovely smell - Nicki had dinner ready for us all, satay sticks and a hamburger each hit the spot perfectly.

Now time for the big line out.  Sherbs had it.  he got most of the action and was keen to see Nicki land something so when the reel went off it was her turn and she got a small shark a bronzie i think and between us 5 Banjos as well as a couple of big swings and misses as well as a few bite offs. Kids off to bed and we sat up waiting for the elusive Mulloway but to no avail.

Sherbs was the first up and had a chopper as i was getting up at 4ish.  not long after i had the eagle ray which kept me honest. the kids thought it was great and flapped like a bird. Then we got a few more Tailor but not really exciting the biggest went about 1kg. The sun was up by now and the kids and Nicki too so Heath was keen as usual and got amongst the little Sand Whiting still in his PJ's too keen to get dressed. Then the Blowies moved in and we decided to call it a day but not before Sherbs got a new nick name from the Kids as the Blowie King!

All in all a much better way to spend Melbourne Cup had a great overnight stay with great company thanks for joining us Sherbs.

to brighten your day

It's been a day of really sad news... this is to take your mind off it and have a smile...

A couple has a dog that snores. Annoyed because she can't sleep, the wife goes to the vet to see if he can help.
The vet tells the woman to tie a ribbon around the dog's testicles, and he will stop snoring.

'Yeah right!' she says.

A few minutes after going to bed, the dog begins snoring, as usual. The wife tosses and turns, unable to sleep.
Muttering to herself, she goes to the closet and grabs a piece of red ribbon and ties it carefully around the
dog's testicles.

Sure enough, the dog stops snoring.  The woman is amazed.

Later that night, her husband returns home drunk from being out drinking with his buddies. He climbs into bed,
falls asleep and immediately begins snoring loudly.  The woman decides maybe the ribbon might work on him. So, she goes to the closet again, grabs a piece of blue ribbon and ties it around her husband's testicles.  Amazingly, it also works on him!

The woman sleeps soundly. The husband wakes from his drunken stupor and stumbles into the bathroom. As he stands in front of the toilet, he glances in the mirror and sees a blue ribbon attached to his privates.  He is very confused, and as he walks back into the bedroom, he sees the red ribbon attached to his dog's testicles.

He shakes his head and looks at the dog and whispers, 'I don't know where we were or what we did, but, by God we took FIRST and SECOND place!

abalone season opens 7th november

West Coast abalone season reduced to FIVE sessions- Fisheries Department media release

This year’s recreational abalone fishing season in the West Coast Zone, which includes the Perth metro area, will be reduced to five one-hour Sunday sessions.

The 2010 season opens on 7 November and runs for five Sundays, until 5 December.

Recreational fishing for abalone, in the zone from Busselton Jetty to the Greenough River mouth, is only permitted between the hours of 7am and 8am on the prescribed Sundays.

Department of Fisheries Senior Management Officer Martin Holtz said the total fishing time of only five hours made it one of the world’s most tightly managed recreational fisheries.

“The reduction in fishing time, by one session, is necessary to manage the recreational catch to 40 tonnes,” Mr Holtz said. “In the last two years, the recreational sector has caught 48.6 tonnes and 44 tonnes (respectively) from the West Coast Zone.

“It is important each sector is managed to its allocated catch to ensure the sustainability of the fishery. The commercial sector is managed separately, to a yearly quota of 36 tonnes.

“The new arrangements will help to ensure the many thousands of fishers, who enjoy the annual opportunity to collect this seafood delicacy, can continue to do so in the future.”

On each Sunday during the season, licensed recreational abalone fishers can each take a maximum of 20 Roe’s legal-sized abalone, which measure 60 millimetres or larger.

Mr Holtz said this year the department would have the benefit of more mobile patrols of Fisheries and Marine Officers, to answer questions fishers may have about the abalone fishing rules and to ensure compliance in this important and unique recreational fishery.

“Significant fines apply to people in possession of undersize abalone or over the bag limit,” he said. “It is also important that fishers remember they can not collect abalone for other people on the beach, nor remove abalone from the reefs if it is smaller than the legal size.

“If you want a feed of abalone you need to get a licence and get wet, but please keep safe and check the weather and swell conditions to make sure you can fish safely.”

A comprehensive brochure is available for fishers wanting more details about the West Coast Zone abalone season. The Recreational Fishing Guide – Abalone 2010/11 is available online at www.fish.wa.gov.au or from Department of Fisheries offices and information outlets.

max size for dhufish

following on from the gt thread ,and peoples thoughts on taking such a large specimen,

i was wondering , does anyone support a maximum ,as well as minimum,  size limit for dhu's and the like , to help keep the large breeders safe even with the obvious release problems associated with large fish ??

Support Our Sponsors

There has been lots of discussion on what charter boat people should go on out of Perth..

My view and that's my view only is that we should support the operators that support us.

When it comes to charters in Perth Saltwater Charters should be our number one choice.
