Ocean Reef Saturday
Submitted by Tim on Wed, 2007-03-21 21:54For those that fish out of Ocean Reef I thought I would warn you your ramp could be a little busy this weekend.
The Australian Anglers Association is holding its 2006-07 State Boat Angling Championship on Saturday. Not sure how many boats will be there but I would say it would be a few.
If the comp gets cancelled Saturday it would be held on Sunday.

Sundays Day out
Submitted by SamC on Sun, 2007-03-18 19:52headed from freo at 6am this morn in search of some dollies and bottom bounce the derwent.
about 730 we hit furuno fad..there was nuthing there! trolled to pgfc..had one hook up but dropped, pretty sure it was a smallish tuna.
we went past pgfc, there was nuthing there...finding it hard to get a dolly at this time
trolled to fremantle sailing club fad..didnt think we were gonna get anything there but we managed a average sized dolly plus saw heaps more dollies on that fad but no boats were getting them except mine, even with baits..my first mahi, so i was pretty stoked.
twas a bit busy at all the fad so we set out to the derwent for a bottom bounce!!!
200m of water...it kills ahha
we pulled a couple of fish off that including 10kg grey banded cod, 6kg mulloway, 2 45cm pinkies and heaps of good sized red snapper...
had some major bust off as we'll...one guy on the boat got spooled!! theres some serious fish down there
anyway we fished that for 3 or 4 hrs and did well..then we went for a bit of a troll after that and picked up some small tuna, and by that time the ocean was soo flat..never seen it so calm!
by then it was about 2pm so we decided to head in around rotto for some dhuies..unfortunatley there was no drift at all which sucks when your bottom fishing, so we called it a day and returned to the harbour about 6pm this arvo!
not a bad day by all means, ended up with..1 dolly, 1 cod, 1 mulla, 2 tuna, 5 red snapper, 1 sea perch and 2 pinkies
havent uploaded the photos yet fellas but as soon as i do ill post them up!!
cheers

Joke: Jim and Edna
Submitted by sherbert on Fri, 2007-03-16 17:29Jim and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital. One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool, Jim suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there.
Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled Jim out. When the Head Nurse Director became aware of Edna's heroic act, she immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital, as she now considered her to be mentally stable.
When she went to tell Edna the news, she said, "Edna, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged. Since you were able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of another patient, I have concluded that your act displays sound mindedness. The bad news is that Jim, the patient you saved, hung himself in the bathroom with his bathrobe belt right after you saved him. I am so sorry, but he's dead."
Edna replied, "He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry." ."How soon can I go home?"
Joke: Four Daughters
Submitted by sherbert on Fri, 2007-03-16 17:29This guy has four daughters who all live at home. one Friday night the doorbell rings. The guy answers it and a kid standing there says "Hi, I'm Freddy. I'm here to pick up Betty. We're gonna go eat spaghetti. Is she ready?"
The man, mildly amused calls down his daughter and the two leave.
A few minutes later the doorbell rings again and he answers. A kid standing there says "Hi, I'm Jim. I'm here to see Kim. We're gonna go for a swim. Can I come in?"
The guy, now perplexed, says yes and the two take off.
A few minutes later the doorbell rings and again the father answers. A kid standing there says "Hi, I'm Joe. I'm here to pick up Flo. We're gonna go to the show. Can she go?"
The man, now kind of annoyed says yes and the two depart
Sure enough, a few minutes later the door rings and the father answers. A kid standing there says "Hi, I'm Chuck.."
The father shot him.
Joke: Three Hang Gliders
Submitted by sherbert on Fri, 2007-03-16 17:28It’s a dark night, a cold wind is blowing and a campfire flickers under the stars twinkling in the blackened sky.
Three hang-glider pilots are sitting by the campfire, one from Australia, one from South Africa and one from New Zealand.
Each is trying to prove they are the toughest. The night of tales begins…
Kiven the Kiwi says, "I rickon I must be the meanest, toughest, heng-glider there is, bro. Why, jist the other day I linded in a field and scared a crocodile, who came out of the swamp and ate six men who were standen close by. I grebbed the crocodile and wristled him to the ground and then killed him with my beer hends."
Hansie from South Africa pipes up, thinking that he has one better, and says, "Check it out, you guys: I lended orfter a 200-kilometre flight in my heng-glider on a tiny trail, and a Namibian snike slid out from under a rock and made a move on me. I grebbed de borsted with me bare hinds and bit ’is head off ind then sucked the poison from its body down in one gulp. End I’m still here standing next to you two in front of this fire today."
Bazza the Aussie remained silent, slowly poking the fire with his penis
Fridays joke
Submitted by dogsoldier on Fri, 2007-03-16 08:10A man took weekend fishing trips twice a month. His wife got used to them, and was sure to have all of his things packed when he came home after work on Friday. After some months of the same routine, she became concerned as to whether or not he actually was going fishing, but without any proof she wasn't going to confront him. One Sunday evening after returning from his "fishing" weekend, he confronted his wife. "All I ask from you is that you have my things ready when I get home from work. And this weekend, you forgot to pack me any clean underwear. Do you have any idea how I feel wearing the same underwear for 3 days?" The wife defended herself, "I didn't forget to pack your clean underwear." He snapped back, "Well, I didn't have any hen I got to the lake. Where'd you pack them, they weren't in my suitcase." "No, " she replied, "this time I packed them in your tackle box."

SALMON
Submitted by max199 on Thu, 2007-03-08 15:47Went dowm south with half of Perth on the long weekend looking for some salmon. Haven't explored much but managed to find a medium sized bay south of Indijup point. Saw a couple of good sized schools of what looked like salmon.Managed only 1 good sized fish of 5kg. At the most there were probably 10 people spread out within this bay and with only 3 people fishing.
Bloody awsome sight seeing a school come in with a wave with the sunlight lighting their shapes up. Really exciting stuff.Weather was okay with a med easterly in the morning which was off shore where i was then later a sea breeze. Saw a few boats trolling but nothing caught, atleast with what i saw with my binoculars. Any else went down south??
