seized rod ferrule
Submitted by Cruise Control on Sun, 2013-05-05 11:52G'day Guys
Hoping that someone has a good tip as to how to separate a seized ferrule on my deepjig 200. Where the rod inserts into the butt section is seized tight. Always a tight fit but on my last trip out I failed to separate the two and now I cant get them apart. Anyone got any bright ideas that might free the two pieces ?
cheers

New to fishing
Submitted by Lee bob on Sun, 2013-05-05 07:40Hey Guys
I am fairly new to fishing and new to the site I was just after some advice. I should be getting a boat on Wed providing the mechanic gives it the all clear. It's a Haines 650f what sort of set up should I be looking to buy and where are some good places to try and catch some fish. I would be taking the kids out as well at times so any tips on how to keep them interested would be great.
Cheers

What is the weirdest bait you have used to catch a fish????
Submitted by outdoinit on Fri, 2013-05-03 18:45Was talking to my old boss last night and he was telling me that he just done a 5 day Abrolhos charter with Top Gun 2 charters and said one day the fishing was very slow.
He was munching on some lollie snakes, when he decided to put one on the hook (A Green one) he said.
The end result was he hooked the only fish on that drift and it also was the biggest spanglie for the whole 5 day trip and of course it was on the lollie snake..
what is your unusual bait???

where to fish in October?
Submitted by Hansie on Fri, 2013-05-03 16:03Gday guys
I am in a quandry, and so i turn to fishwrecked...
In october theres an opportunity for my brother-in-law and i to take our dads fishing for a week or so to hopefully kill the pig, and hence a small return on the favours they have done us as tackers intorducing us to fishing. With requisite permissions from mrss etc you can imagine this is a rare treat and one that may never arise again, so important to make the most of it. And so the thinking starts, but alas:
Too windy up north in October and too cold down south
Pinkies around FFB etc is too close and no real getaway, and too hit n miss besides
No tuna in tassy by then I don’t think.
Abrolhos boats not operating then either.
Too windy for montes.
Too early for Barra
Old boys too old for roughing it in some FNQ bush camp. Need accom really.
Andamans too expensive I’m sure - along with most exotic charters/camps
What is Malaysia like then? wrong season for sails isnt it?
Happy to chuck a few bucks at it but we are both gonna have to shout the old fellas a trip so it has to be SEMI- affordable too
Long list huh? That’s why I couldn’t come up with anything.
Farrrk!
so - there is no bigger wealth of fishing knowledge and advice that i know of, if you have a sugestion, please let me know!
Cheers all.

Boat fishing from two rocks marina.
Submitted by beeroclock on Fri, 2013-05-03 13:26Gday fisho's - I hear the demersal fishing is pretty good out of two rocks. Sunday looking flat so I thought i would give it a go. Problem is ive never been out from there so any tips or advice would be great. I know nobody will give their favourite spots away maybe just point me in the right direction and what depths should i be looking for Ive got a 19 foot voyager and I go out 50 kms regularly to the FADs so no problem to go out wide. If anybody is going out maybe I can follow along if thats OK

Pacific P&O Cruise Fishing Charters?
Submitted by shorething on Fri, 2013-05-03 12:24Hey everyone,
Booked in for a 11 night cruise from Brisbane in late July to Pacific (Vanuatu/New Caledonia) which I can't wait for and just wondering if anyone has done any of the fishing charters they offer and if they have any suggestions/info on it. From what I can see there are a few different ones you can go on at some different ports. It's not a fishing holiday obviously so I'll only be going on 1 so any replies by anyone whos done it before would be really appreciated
Cheers,
Brett

Sea Bass or Sea Jigger rod
Submitted by bradz on Thu, 2013-05-02 10:15Hi guys
I see some new styles of rods coming in for lure casting. They are often call Sea Bass or Sea Jigger rods. What is the difference between the 2 styles. It seems to me that the Sea Bass rods are much slower in their action while the Sea Jigging rods are stiffer. Does this seem about correct?
Basically I am looking for a rod to use for salmon, tailor and if lucky (unlucky) small YTK's at rotto. Mainly casting 2oz poppers and plugs, 60g slices, but also stick baits. I have looked at the NS Hurricanes in the lighter models but the cast rating is quite low...but still a bloody nice rod.
Any comments appreciated.
Cheers
Brad

Windy weather in Exmouth - September stuffed?
Submitted by Oracle on Thu, 2013-05-02 00:10Just trying to get some research and have mixed findings. Some sites say the wind is still good in Exxy in September and boat fishing and diving is great. Others saying, window is closed and shit house.
What have people hear experienced in the last year or two?
