Posting pics via iPhone
Submitted by AlwaysFishin on Sat, 2012-04-21 11:18Hey everyone,
Im sure this has been asked a million times before, even though a site search didn't enlighten me much, but is it at all possible to upload pics via an iPhone? I don't use a camera or a computer so that's not an option. I've finally started to be rewarded for the hours I've spent fishing and would like to share the pics..

Lena Dive Wreck Information to assist with establishing Recfishing Artifical Reef
Submitted by Perry Home on Fri, 2012-04-20 23:16Hi everyone
As you may be aware we are in the process of establishing the sites and placement of two artificial reefs in the Geographe Bay region. It is highly likely that they will be placed at opposite ends of the bay - for a number of reasons. These reefs will be purpose built and placed in locations that will allow access to the by recfishers in relatively small boats. There are a number of species we believe that will use the reefs to improve their own species biomass. Enough of the intro - I / we need your help - The Artificial Reef Reference Group is currently looking for site reports relating to the Lena Dive Wreck off Bunbury as the reef is likely to be placed in a similar depth and local. I
f you have or know of the people who were involved with the site selection I would like to hear from you as we are seeking information on the Lena site relating to the substrate, benthos and biota prior to the wreck been sunk. This information is vital to assist us with site selection for this new reef that we hope is to be avaiable to the general public to fish late this year/early next year (2013). Thanks for taking the time to read this. You can reply to this, p.m. me or email me ar . Thanks Perry

Submitted by Dirt on Fri, 2012-04-20 19:28 Fairly new to jigging ,have had a bit of success using my saltiga 4500 and Catalina but wanting to go a little more sporting, not sure weather to go the jigging master pe4 reel matched to the jigging master pe 1.5-3 or go something like certate hyper custom 4000 and rod to suit, not sure as to what rod would be best suited to this reel.interested in any feedback
P.s maybe more versatility with a spinning reel..

Mulloway-2 Me - 0
Submitted by alexangler on Fri, 2012-04-20 16:56hey everyone
I headed down to mosmans bay with a couple of mates last night in search of our first mulla
we set pout our lines about 40- 50 metres off the jetty with my mates inflatable
after a couple of hours we got some action
with short amounts of line coming off for a couple of minutes
then we thought it took off,we tighten up and nothing
so we set out our lines again
towards when we were leaving another rod started to peel off
this time i was sure not to let it get away
after about five minutes of the fish picking it up and dropping with increasing pressure from other fishos and my mates i struck at it and nothing
very frustrating night but at least I know what to do next time round
hopefully will try agian in the next week
cheers alex

Fibreglass "trailer boats"
Submitted by Francis on Fri, 2012-04-20 16:26G'day guys,
Will be looking to buy a new boat next year (upgrading from a 12ft tinny), so I am starting my research now as I have limited knowledge about the brands etc. Hoping to get some thoughts on this topic.
In short I would be looking for between 5-7mtrs, %95 percent for fishing (prob around 20-40km offshore...but If I can get out looking for harpooka/cod on a good day that would be a bonus) and %5 for taking the mrs out for a spin.
Im leaning towards fibreglass for the comfort factor although I haven't ruled out plate boats. Im thinking of setting my budget at around $25,000 - $30,000. So far have researched the following tubs:
Stabicraft
Genesys
Coraline
Haines Sig
Haines Hunter
Haines Traveller
Cox Craft
Southwind SF's
Pursuits
At this early stage I really like the look of the southwind's for the price, even though they are an older hull. But I like the fact that most cox craft's seem to come with an E-Tec.
Just want to open the floor for you guys to provide opinions on trailer boats and to see if I have overlooked any good hull designers etc Appreciate any input
Cheers!

Just saying hello.
Submitted by Selva on Fri, 2012-04-20 12:31I thought I should start myself off with a "Hi, my name is bob" thread.
Though my name is actually Chris and not bob, hello there! I originally come from Radelaide... errrr.... South Australia.... I moved here back in 2008, then went to the NT Last year, and Now I'm back here! (Long story). I am a military boy and work in the RAAF, my partner stays at home and apparently looks after the kids, which we have two of, one boy and one girl, we are also planing on at least one more. So the Falcon is getting upgraded to a more camping/family car, a Territory. I may not be old, at 25, but I have served my country, fished my country, and driven my country... not many people can say they have done all that by the time they are 40, let alone 25, so I think I have done alright.
Most of my fishing has been in a wee little area of the Yorke Penninsular, at a lovely place called Butlers Beach, or hillocks point, depending on who you talk to. But I have just started to get back into my fishing only to find that WA doesn't have the same sort of fishing I am used to. I have so far caught plenty of Whiting, but they are anything but edible at a around 12 - 15cm... I also caught possibly the cutest Flathead one could see, and yes, I have a pic! So my WA fishing has been less than good, I think I need to get a boat or something...
I am up North Perth suburbs, in Quinns Rocks, so if anyone has any tips they could share about fishing in this state I would love to hear them! I would love to know where people are catching edible size whiting, tommy ruff's and that fish you westies seem to love, the Taylor.
I would love to meet some of you one day and possibly even go fishing with some of you, unless any of you feel like you are not the kind of people one should meet =P
Anyway, thought I'd say gidday,
Chris.

Anchor rope help?
Submitted by Quobbarockhopper on Thu, 2012-04-19 16:29was out last week and a decent sized tiger stole the solid pink I had on... decided to have a bit of fun with it and see if I could get my lure back. As the fight went on, the 50lb braid I was using rubbed up against the anchor rope a fair bit and when we pulled it later on, it had done a fair bit of damage to a length of it about 30m down the rope.
An going to get a mate to try and splice it back together for me, but if that fails and Im not happy with the result, will be having to invest in a new rope for it.
What sort of rope should I be after? will 6mm do the job or is 8mm a safer bet? The boat is a 5.8m fibreglass.
Cheers guys, as always!

Types of things im after is braded or mono line, what types of lures and jigs and most of all where to go in the waters around perth. This is one fish that i want to tick off my box but it just keeps eluding me. Look forward to hearing from you.
