Anyone Looking for a Decent Set of Golf Clubs?
Submitted by UncutTriggerInWA on Tue, 2011-08-30 15:50Sadly my back is so bad that I doubt I can do them justice anymore. Fishing is all I have left. My last handicap was 11 so they do work OK given some experience and no cheating...... Comes with a bag and buggy and a few new golf balls can be thrown in to seal any deal. For those wannabee long hitters I can tell you the driver is mint and gives serious length improvements (to your drive of course). Going cheap to an avid wannabee at $320.00. PM me if interested. Ad will be on Gumtree in the morning so get to it guys.
Oh; I also have a really nice laptop to offload (no, I don't wear a ballaclava at night LOL). Ad is on Gumtree http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Stuff-for-Sale-computers-software-laptops-notebooks-HP-Compaq-NX6320-Intel-Core-2-Duo-Notebook-W0QQAdIdZ305785565. Again, PM me if interested. No swaps at the moment sorry. I am struggling through a short period of fishing and no work due to recovery from surgery.

advice, experiences, comments all welcome. We will be there in October - aiming for anything from reefies to pelagics to sails.

Broome Jetty Fishing
Submitted by Matt T on Tue, 2011-08-30 10:35Hi All, heading to Broome mid September and will have a free day so I would like to try some fishing at the main Jetty.
Can anyone give me an idea of what fish there are to chase and what lures / reels / rods I should be bringing.
Any advice or tips on any of the fishy related things to do in Broome would be great!
I imagine the seafood available there would be pretty good, anyone know of any 'must go' places?

TLD 25???
Submitted by Chopp81 on Mon, 2011-08-29 20:39Anyone got any feedback about TLD 25's? spoke to one tackle shop today that reckon theyre no good for bottom fishing, more for trawling. BCF have them for $199 with a rod which i thought was pretty good value so I grabbed one anyway, keen as shit to try it out tomorrow. Just after anyones opinion.

Squid Vicious
Submitted by crasny1 on Mon, 2011-08-29 09:50Went out for a fish of dampier on saturday. No joy in 25-30m with plackies so resorted to bait. Had a unusual pull on the line, like dead weight, and usually this is a bloody curly Moray.
But it wasnt!
It was a large squid.
Down went the jigs, and I didnt have the camera to shoot them on the water, and yes I like VB.

Big squid for dinner.

Submersible camera
Submitted by r.gates on Sun, 2011-08-28 22:07Hi guys
After recently buying a 50m submersible camera (from dinodirect.com) and then shopping around for a12V 10" monitor and a 12V DVR (from ebay), I've finally assembled the pieces. After trying it out at home, we loaded up the Trailblazer yesterday for a quick spin out from The Cut to the 3 mile reef so we could wet it's little bum.
The drift was quite quick and the current was even quicker, so we were seeing the bottom at almost 'fast forward' speed.
The colour and definition were quite good and although we were only in 12m of water, I was pretty impressed with the results. The footage that we captured was a bit pixelated, which maybe due to the camera, but nonetheless, it was ok. The attached images are not real good as they've been captured from Windows media player via a screen dump.
With a bit less current flowing and a bit less drift, I'm sure the images would be alot better, but it's a start.
regards

Busso trip 28/8/11
Submitted by danno on Sun, 2011-08-28 20:09Hey all.
Just a write up of how i went in busso over this weekend.
Got into town on friday night with the hope of getting a few squid for lunch on Saturday. Didn't get any squid and only had my squid jigs on me which was a big mistake. The herring were so thick that everyone fishing was catching them. They were cruising under the jetty in massive schools, the biggest amount of herring i've seen in one spot.
Got up on saturday around 10ish got dropped off at the jetty and this time i had some swimming lures as well as my squidding gear. I started walking out got near the end with not squid and only a few herring following but not commited to attack the lure aggressively. I started talking to an older bloke that had a few nice herring in his bag fishing bait straight under the jetty. I started throwing around some metal lures for no return then i put on a Halco Laser pro 45 in pilchard colour and got three in a quick amount of time as well as a heap of spat hooked and a heap of followers. I then changed to a red coloured one as it shut down and got another nice herring. I moved out to the end and everyone around me was getting some solid skippy nothing under 30cms and all i had was lures. I cast the red one around for a bit for nothing then put the pilchard colour back on and got herring following it straight away. I got a bull herring followed but a solid hook up which spat the hooks so i kept winding and got another nice herring. I cast out again and hooked up solid again. It was around 12 o'clock by this stage and dead calm and up came a nice tailor of 42cms. That was followed by a 35cm one. I then hooked a skippy which spat the hooks. It shut down with only a few more herring joining its mates in the bucket.
We started walking in and i nailed an alright squid which had nice colours in it. I was came across a nice bloke that was right into squidding as well and he might join this site soon. He had a squid gaff as well as a nice squidding outfit. I walking in and cleaned the herring, tailor and squid and had them for lunch.
I walked out again that night and it was a herring a cast, i couldn't get away from them. I was hoping for some more tailor but not to be. I got to the end tried for some skippy with fresh squid but no lunch. Started squidding and got 2 so not to bad in murky conditions on was 28cm hood so not a bad squid. Started talking to a nice bloke that gave me a few tips cheers mate.
Finished off the weekend this morning with another nice bag of herring and a king george whiting. This weekend really got me into using lures as its more fun and keep you motivated.
Thanks for reading.
Luck i didn't get bitin off.
Squid.
Add a few bull herring and lunch was served. ( sorry about the kill shot/ blood)
Nice squid.
Cheers danno.

Importing Ally Plate Boat From China
Submitted by ryangler on Sun, 2011-08-28 12:51Hi Guys,
Looking at buying my first boat and looking to import one from china. Ive just moved to Karratha, im a keen fisho/diver and i want to get into the amazing fishing i keep hearing about up here. After doing a little research general consensus is
- ally for first boat, its more forgiving
- ally more economical to run
- ally ruff ride though
- 17ft good size to get offshore whilst still being managable if I take it out by myself
- centre cosole best fishing/diving boat but a wet ride (not an issue up here, 30c min days)
- cuddy cabin good compromise for more shelter
started looking online as I wasnt going to get what I wanted in my budget and found these
Custom Catermarine
17ft cat centre console
http://www.custom-catamarine.com/Pro_cot.asp?id=74
http://www.custom-catamarine.com/files/latest%20%20Brochure%20%205.2cc.pdf
17ft cat cuddy cab
http://www.custom-catamarine.com/Pro_cot.asp?id=75
http://www.custom-catamarine.com/files/cuddy%20cabin-5.2cud.jpg
19.5ft cat centre cab
http://www.custom-catamarine.com/Pro_cot.asp?id=82
http://www.custom-catamarine.com/files/center%20cab-5.95cab.jpg
Aurora Yatchs
18ft V centre cab
http://www.aurora-yachts.com/aluminium-boats/Aluminium_fishing_boat.html
http://www.aurora-yachts.com/aluminium-boats/Work_utility_vessel.html
Huaao Marine Manufacturing
17ft V centre console
http://huaaomarine.en.alibaba.com/product/242298897-210410646/HA520_fishing_boat.html?tracelog=cgsotherproduct1
Of the boats above what seems like the best boat? im leaning towards the 17ft cat centre console or centre cab but not sure if i want to run 2 o/boards
If I was to import one of these I think I would go for everything but the o/boards and get them fitted here for warranty.
So whats everyones thoughts on the above boats, if they would shy away from one over the others, why?
any thoughts or opinions appreciated thanks

are redfin really such a pest?
Submitted by ben89 on Sat, 2011-08-27 22:19Been doing some reading and so far everything says redfin are a major pest and should not be released if caught and yet I still have to pay the gov for a licence to provide them with a service. One would think that if they are such a pest the gov would offer like a dollar scratchy per fish head taken in or something as insentive to help clean out the waterways, would you knock on someone's door and pay them for the service of cleaning out there pool I doubt it
