Hi fellas out of curiosity, just wondering how common is it to drop a combo overboard?

last year one of my mates lost one trying to free a snag on 80lb when a small wave put him off balance, funny as s&@$ for the rest of us. 

Also last week I almost lost my overhead combo as I palmed the reel n it slipped out of my hand, lucky I had a good grip on the handle knob.

 I have been crabbing a lot lately and I have been trying a huge range of baits from meats to fish you name it i was just wondering what has been most successfully for others as I am having trouble narrowing down the best baits. It would be great to hear what propels favourite baits are.

well, its a shame its not happening this year with the boss not there.

but the way i see it there is going to be a few members there around the same time, soooo.....maybe we can organize our own little thing.

keep it simple, every boat chuck $50 into a kitty, nomiate a fish we can all target within a certain amount of time and the biggest takes the lot, oviously you will need proof of your catch, so same rules as adam run would apply!!

Im looking at a new Ali boat and want recommendations. I want about 22 foot and don't wanna pay over $60k. I've had a look at the trailcraft 660. They are pretty cheap and look pretty good... Genisis and assassin seem pretty expensive. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Planning on heading out tonight from Bunbury, not sure whether I wanna go Forrest Beach or Buffalo yet. Got a spare seat or two if anyone's interested (and has a secret spot they want to share).  After work last night few of us went down for a few sharks with the wind perfectly behind us off our chosen rock platform. After running around earlier trying to find some baits big enough we where set with 2 balloons bouncing around 2-300m out.

First bait took just under an hour to get eaten and the second one 2 hours after that. All up we where fishing for 5 hours and managed these 2 very nice bronzies. First one I caught on my light gear (Trinidad 30A spooled with 40lb) taking just over an hour to beach, The second one put up a much better account for itself pulling 400m of line straight out against full drag on 24kg gear before coming straight back in all the way to the rocks. Hour and a half and we had this one beached as well. 

Awesome fun and good to get a few more in but it would be nice to catch something other than a bronzie hahaha. There has to be a big hammerhead or mako swimming around there with my name on it!!

 Transducer is mounted as shown have a lowrance HDS5 combo and loose all bottom at 10 knots any advise guys? Any advise would be awesome as it is so frustrating missing all that ground when travelling to a mark!!!

Im looking for a 9'spin combo for casting lures and sp off the beach for tailor/salmon etc.

I have used the search function and noticed fwa rods are quite popular,I'm keen on the shimano jewel aswel because I have the 6' jewel for river and im very happy with it.

I have also seen bcf have a shimano se4000  starlo combo for $169 on line,does anyone rate these?

Can anyone tell me what price range the fwa rod are in?and any other info on them or similar rods,or combos before I go shopping tomorrow would be  awsome,cheers

Sharkshield down sugarloaf rock/dunsborough over new years. honestly i really cant see it happening but if your feeling very generous i would appreciate it being returned, Ive lost alot of shit over the years diving but this was a couple of weeks old and definitely the most expensive. Has anyone had a boat imported from the usa.i am looking at seaswirl 2301 cc and was wondering if anyone had some good advice and an estimate on the costs

 I used a couple yesterday at 5 fathom and as soon as they hit the bottom they were torn to shreds, literally. I was left with just a small lump of red and green plastic on the hook about 2cm long. Unfortunately my hook was toooo damned big. Any suggestions on hook size and type. By the way I was using them on a paternoster rig up.

hi all. Ive recentley bought a 5m ally boat, 75 merc on the back, hydrolic steering bout 14 years old that seems to always want to turn right. basically as soon as its under power it pulls right. trimming the motor up dose help but not fix it. at full speed its not to bad but still noticible. Ive seen this same question asked on other sites and the general answer is the trim tab thingy. I can safely say its not the trim tab. Ive played with it out on the water and it made no real difference.(both directions) from what ive read it may be the motor torque. prop size, motor position? Everything looks fine and straight. Hoping somone else has had a simirlar problem and can point me in the right direction. any help is appreciated.

Heading downwith the family to busso for a weeks R & R taking the boat and after some help on where to go. Dont mind heading out 20 to 30 kms. Would like to get onto some pinkies or dhuies. Obvously not after anyones secret spots but just a general depth and area, any help would be really awesome.
