Pemberton
Submitted by luke george on Mon, 2019-10-14 11:41Hey guys I'm heading to pemberton for 3 nights at the end of the month and am after a bit of info on areas to fish. I've done well on heartbreak trail and big Brook dam for redfin in the past although its been many years since I've been down there. Not after secret spots but mainly just the best ways to access parts of the donnelly, Warren River and lefroy Brook and also what the water levels are like at the moment. I'll be taking a kayak and am keen to do a bit of exploring for myself but I want to avoid dragging it to far through the scrub before finding water. Mainly after redfin but any help would be appreciated, Cheers

Boat ramp drama!
Submitted by plugga25 on Sat, 2019-10-12 14:25
Gday legends. I took my kids out fishing the other day from the Safety Bay ramp to see what we could get.
Anyway, we got a feed of whiting and a nice snapper. On returning to the ramp, a couple approached me to
see if we wanted to sell them our snapper. Upon explaing to then politely that its illegal to sell my catch, the verbal avalanche
we released towards me and my kids. my 12yr old daugher looked at me scared at one point and the guy told her, and i quote,
"shut up you little round eye whore". She refused to even look at the boat for a couple of days and is still pretty upset by it.
I hope this is not a regular occurance in the area. Took all the shine off the great morning i had with my kids.
Police and Fisheries were notified

Exmouth Marina Crabs?
Submitted by kinga86 on Tue, 2019-10-08 18:06Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has had any success inside the marina? Am staying at one of the marina palaces for a couple weeks and have own jetty so was wondering if it would be worth hanging a couple of nets over the side.
Cheers

Help me decide the most meritorious fish
Submitted by Belly Fish on Tue, 2019-10-08 09:57Hi there. I'm in the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club and our fishing year has come to an end. In the beach/rock fishing area, we have a trophy for the Most Meritorious Fish. I've put together a shortlist, and I'm hoping I can get fellow anglers views on what they think is the best of the bunch. Candidates are: 0.417kg Breaksea Cod 4.120kg Dhufish 2.365kg Spangled Emperor 2.260kg Harlequin 18.720kg Spanish Mackerel 12.760kg Mulloway 17.780kg Samsonfish 0.429kg King George Whiting Some good fish from the shore here, but I think my top 3 (in no order) are Dhufish, Harlequin and Spanish Mackerel. Please let me know what you think. Cheers Belly

Five fathom advice
Submitted by joycey on Sun, 2019-10-06 16:16Hi all
With the new closure areas stopping me from fishing my normal inshore spots, I plan to try the western side of the five fathom bank behind garden island before the demersal ban kicks in.
Not done much fishing in this area. Am I best to drift or anchor and burley?
Cheers for any advice

totalscan
Submitted by crano on Thu, 2019-10-03 17:47I took a totalscan transducer off the bottom of my boat. It had been sikaflexed on . It ended up with a small crack near the back of it but it still works OK. If anyone can use it they can have it for free. It is in Bunbury.
I am now trying a 3 in 1 transducer.

Penn Prevail 14'6" - lost top piece
Submitted by chris1108 on Wed, 2019-10-02 19:23I know it's a long shot, but I only realised in September, after 4-5 months break from fishing, that I left the top piece of my Penn Prevail 14'6" (3 pce) rod at South Mole around April/May. Such a random thing to have occurred because normally I would have had a glow stick on it and wrapped it in rod holders afterwards.
It's probably too late to ask around if anyone has seen it. But would anyone happen to have a spare piece that they would be willing to sell? It's a really gut-wrenching thing to have lost because next to the Pflueger Crank, it's my favourite rod for surf fishing.
Hitch-Hiker
Submitted by rossp on Tue, 2019-10-01 13:27Was out solo yesterday on the reef 3km off 14 mile at Warroora station, and heard a voice.
WTF. radio not on. Looked about and there was a diver coming over to my boat.
Can I get a lift back in when you go?
Apparently he had been out with a crew in a boat all diving along the reef, and they left him there.
Lucky boy.
Would have liked to hear the conversation when he caught up with the crew!!
