Just to let people know that if your Lowrance HDS has suddenly lost the ability to give you time like mine has done. There is a 'Legacy GPS Patch' in the Lowrance downloads that fixes the issue, which was released on the 21st of December 2018. Mine is HDS 8 Gen 1 but I have noticed that the patch is available for other Gens.

G’day all, looking for some opinions here....(running a HDS12 Gen2 and stock 83/200kHz tranny).

I’m collecting a lot of interference when underway even at low speeds and despite making several adjustments in transducer height it’s not getting better, in fact not changing at all.

My suspicion is that possibly my deck wash pickup (which is a flush hole in an Ali hull) is possibly creating a bubble trail... now before I relocate the transducer do does anyone think I might be out to lunch or is it a reasonable suspicion ....?..

Just purchased this Transducer to fit with my HDS 9 Gen 2 sounder.

Does it simply plug into the back of the sounder the same spot as the old tranny did (which I am replacing) ?

I have recently upgraded to the elite 7ti and it had the cmap max-n+ micro sd with it (bought it at the Perth international boat show) and the fellow that sold it to me was adament that cmap was every bit as capable as navionics. I am really struggling to get my head around cmap..... i have had navionics for the last 5 years and love it but want to give cmap a fair crack before coughing up 300 bucks for a gold card (I had the navionics app on my phone).

even the simple stuff like my bathy lines how do i get them? do i have to troll and map every where first ? surely not?. auto routing is it even possible? because at the moment it takes me straight lines only ... I dont want to quit if it was something so simple that was an issue. In saying that it could just be the operator...

Fitted a P60 fuel flow system through NMEA 2000, worked really good for about a month then started to read 50L ion idle per hour, now no read at all. I have taken the flow meter out of the fuel line and blown through it appears fine. 

Anyone got any ideas here, as it is doing my head in. 

 Hi I am getting some interference on my elite 7 chirp and am looking for an extension cable so I  can run the transducer cable down the other side of the boat away from all the other electrical cables. I am already running the sounder from a separate battery and will rerun all those cables as well. A new one is a bit exxy so I am hopeing someone has one laying around that they are willing to part with. Cheers.

 Just wondering what you guys have set for the trails recording time or distance to give you resonable drift detail etc without over doing it.

Mine's an EliteTi 7is still on whatever the distance default is.

Does anyone use there sounder/gps to monitor the fuel usage/ fuel remaining on their boats?

My Elite 9 is hooked up to my NMEA2k network and can display fuel burn in lp/h, but am wondering if it can also track litres remaining aswell.

I have just bought a Lowrance HDS Carbon to replace my Lowrance GlobalMap 6500...essentially because I ran out of waypoint storage (1000 limit on the GlobalMap).

I configured the digital data fields on the GlobalMap to include:

1. Distance to Destination
2. Time to Destination
3. Arrival Time
4. Destination Time
5. And a few others

This pane sat on the left hand side of the chart and was very useful when navigating to waypoints.

The HDS Carbon has what's called Data Overlays. They can be positioned over the top of all of the views, whether they be the chart, sonar, steer etc.

My question is this. I can't find all the fields I use and like. Most are there, but I can't seem to find Arrival Time or Time to Destination as Data Overlay fields. Time to Destination is on the steer view, but I'd like it overlayed on my chart.

Anyone else come across this and perhaps solved it? I've created a custom view with Chart and Steer, which is a compromise, but I'm still missing Arrival Time.

I’ve been reading the forums for the last year or so and love it. I’ve purchased a boat a couple of months ago and I’m finding a lot of conflicting info in regards to sounder setup. I’d love a few pointers on setting up my Lowrance elite 7 please. I’m currently fishing in 25 - 50m depths. Please see the pic to see how I’ve got the sounder setup at the moment. I’m also running the ping speed at 13.

 I upgraded to a slightly bigger boat and decided to put a TM150 on the new boat as well as the Totalscan. 

Fitted the TM150 yesterday and it seems I may have got it right first time.

Schools of herring in the pics, just phone pics so not that flash. We got herring of both these schools.

Just wondering if anyone has seen this on an Elite-5 before.

These are shots heading up the Murray, shallow water at below 5knots.

Got similar in the ocean in 20m of water. Seems to be working fine then a couple of minutes of rubbish then good again. Depth set to auto, also tried custom range etc. Cables appear fine, no worn areas or kinks. fg

Tried resets, cleaning the transducer etc etc.

Chasing some advice. 

I had a Elite-5 Chirp installed (had to go Elite 5 at the time due to dash space...) about a year ago.

Cant even get depth reading when doing over 10Knots, let alone a decent picture of the bottom.

My old hummingbird gear used a shoot-thru transducer, but when installing the lowrance kit the guys installed the standard transom-mount. I’ve read a bit about the Southwind SF hulls producing too much turbulent water to use transom mounted transducers. 

Sooo... has anyone had any experience with shoot-thru transducers with the Elite Chirp sounders. Are the Airmar ones the go?

Sent my Elite 7 Ti back for a glitch and they gave me the options to upgrade to a Carbon 7 for $400.

After using a mates Carbon when setting pots I took the upgrade.

Gets delivered today so 10 days door to door.

Hi All

Have had my Elite 7 for about 6 months and about a month ago was out in the kayak and it started glitching for want of a better word. I would see something on the sidescan, touch to place the cursor on the mark then menu, goto mark. Then a popup saying "You have reached your destination" there is a "stop" and a "continue button. at first when I pressed the continue button it would work but later it wouldn't work and I would have to continuously press it to get it to
work.

I then did a screen calibration, that changed nothing.

Did a soft reset, did nothing.

Did a hard reset after saving my marks and that seemed to fix the issue.

But then the same thing happened the other night.Screen was dry.

Has anyone had the same or similar thing happen.

so today I did a software update on my elite7 ti. I thought it all went well until I put my navionics card back in. All of my waypoint names show up on the chart, but no icons. When you place the cursor over the waypoint name, the icon shows up. Had a bit of a play for a while and was unsuccessful. I Removed the navionics card and all the icons showed up. Bit odd I thought. Put the card back in, no icons. The version I downloaded was v4.0. Any help would be awesome.

Fitting fuel flow to back of HDS 10, do I need to add in the NMEA200 box or can the lead go direct into the back of the sounder unit?

I have the flow meter and lowrance starter kit 

New Lowrance software updates are coming for Elite Ti, HDS Gen3 and Carbon. Supposed to be available for download 10 March.

I like the idea of being able to overlay strong CHIRP returns on a Downscan image.

I have a HDS 10 Gen1 in the flybridge and use a standard ( bought with the unit way back in the dreamtime) shoot thru in hull transducer.

The unit and transducer are great! 

My question is, if I also want to read water temp, do I need to fit a transome mount transducer or are there options for thru hull transducers?

In the hope this saves someone else some grief....

I exported the data from the 7, then imported to the 9 but got 'error parsing waypoint' and nothing would import. 

In order to complete an import/export of my waypoints between these units I needed to import the waypoints to this free software first :- www.easygps.com/download.asp

I had to manually remove (delete) the tracklog from my data using the software, then it would import.

 Just a quick pic while testing the placement of my new TM150 transducer and playing with custom frequencies instead of just high/medium CHIRP. 95kHz to 105kHz was the sweet spot for anyone else using the same trannie. Fish were only herring and tarwhine. Next test will be out deeper.

 Gday All, I am looking for some help/suggestions. My Lowrance Elite 9Ti is (in my opinoin) not reading right, it is almost impossible to tell the difference between sand and structure, I have had a Elite 5 in the past and was happy with the results however the upgrade on my new boat has been frustratingly dissappointing.  The images attached are sitting at Point Peron boat ramp on a calm day (no surge) with the motor turned off - makes no difference if the motor is on when not under way.  The image improves when in about 15m +, the bottom line flattens out and some difference in ground can be seen - unsure of reliability at this stage, the integrity of the picture holds while motoring at less than 3kn any faster and the picture darkens and Im back to not being able to determine ground.  Navico hace replaced the head unit and I was able to try a new transducer however there was no change to the outcome.  Any ideas or does anyone know of someone that can help.  Thanks in advance.
