1kd Toyota injector seals
Submitted by scano on Mon, 2015-06-29 21:29Hi all,
Not directly fishing related but I know there would be plenty of crew on here who have hilux's, and prado's. Has anyone had the pleasure of replacing their 1kd injector sealing washers as yet? They sit between the injector and the cyl head. Over time they wear and compress to the point of not sealing 100% and your engine starts to start a bit like a tractor and can ultimately lead to oil pickup issues ect.
I have a hilux of my own and it has just clicked 120,000klms. Just starting to show the signs of the injector seals going so planning on swapping them out this weekend. Have any of you done these works yourself or arranged them to be replaced elsewhere? Any tips and hints would be appreciated.
after hours of googling and searching it would appear to mainly be the earlier models of 1kd engine which has the issue arise most commonly.
cheers
scano

We've just had our home loan approved and currently looking for a house to buy!
When viewing a property, are there things to look for? Also, are building inspectors worth it? Most online reviews have been negative..
I am a complete noob to buying a house and what to look for in regards to structural etc.. so any help & advice will be great!!

Submitted by petermac on Fri, 2015-06-26 19:37I was at the bent street ramp to day and got chatting with 4 young blokes that had just come back in on their boat , " get any fish boys"" Nah mate we went for a surf its fair pumping behind seal island" figgered out that meant that meant they had been out surfing , was good to see young healthy looking blokes with big smiles on their faces , rather that the meth heads we see everyday in the newspaper, surfing something I never have done but wish I had

bigpond internet
Submitted by petermac on Fri, 2015-06-26 19:16are there other people in the Waikiki area that are getting numerous intermittent dropouts of their internet , all my neighbors' are experiencing the same problem , problem has been ongoing for a month .Talking to Telstra about it is like banging your head against the wall you spend hours on the phone for no satisfaction
I have stepped it up now and lodged a complaint with telstra corporate affairs and with the communications ombudsman , if you are suffering the same problem complain to both for mentioned offices and demand a rebate
One of my neighbours told me it is affecting his business as he dose his quotes and invoicing from home but cant do it as his net drops every 10 minutes

Reel service
Submitted by lachieH on Fri, 2015-06-19 22:45hi everyone. I am starting a reel servicing small business to get some money towards a car. I have done a few and they have turned out perfect, much better with the salt water and sand being cleaned out. I also grease the drag and go through all the parts and lubricate and grease them if need be.
currently I charge $15 per reel. Located SOR near Rossmoyne. I have the next few weekend free if anyone would like theirs done!

Needed some retail therapy
Submitted by Swompa on Fri, 2015-06-19 14:36So I was having a bit of a downer day and decided that a bit of retail therapy was called for. Thankfully for me, Getaway outdoors (Cockburn) was having a bit of a sale. I walked in there looking for some 15lb braid and ended up walking out spending nearly $400, part of which was a new Fin Nor 8000 reel, packed with 30lb line. Didn't end up getting the 15lb line though.
Big thanks to Kenny, their fishing specialist, who taught me a few things and sent me packing with some gear.
Always good to have a knowledgeable person to interact with customers and share knowlege

V8 Yamaha flywheel
Submitted by carnarvonite on Fri, 2015-06-19 07:46Received a letter from Yamaha Aust tell of the need to replace the flywheel and electronic control unit to be replaced on our twin 300s on the rescue boat.
The new ECU will give a warning when 80 hours in the rev range of between 3400 and 4250 is reached so that a new flywheel can be fitted at each required 100 hour service. The flywheel replacement is of no cost to the owner.
The reason behind it is that the flywheels are more like a harmonic balancer and are rubber mounted, if the rubber fails there is vibration and it can cause the crankshaft to snap.

not fishing related but need HELP- spilled milk through my passenger seat and car carpet.. Fargen stinks to high hell!!
Submitted by rigpig on Wed, 2015-06-17 10:01Did a very stupid thing, a two litre bottle of milk emptied into my front passenger seat and into the floor carpet. This was on Sunday and seriously it is fargen puke material in my Patrol at the moment.. It's enough to make a skunk vomit....
Any ideas on how to clean it out..
I've had advise such as;
sprinkle milo on it
load the car with cats
drill hole in the floor and run a hose through it for HOURS...
sell the car
etc etc
any advise is appreciated...
Cheers, JJ

Fishing Buddy (Rockingham).
Submitted by A-SALT-WEAPON on Tue, 2015-06-16 20:06I have recently sold my fishing boat and I'm currently suffering withdrawal until I get another one.
I have all the fishing gear needed from bottom bouncing to chasing Marlin, but at the moment no boat. I would very much appreciate an invite out with any like minded people who live in the Rockinham area are needing crew on thier boat on any weekend. I would naturally pay fuel and bait etc. I'm an ex crayfisherman and lots of experience on the water and don't get sea sick, I enjoy a beer and the footy and generally get along with most people. I'm 45yrs (going on 30 -60)
Regards
Trevor

Anybody had / have a polycraft?
Submitted by Josh on Mon, 2015-06-15 20:28looking for some feedback from owners of polycraft boats.
How long have you had them?
Are they really as good as the advertising let's on? Tough and smooth ride? How is the stability at rest?
Do they flex around a heap?
how is the maintenance?
I have done a bit of a search, but just looking for a bit more upto date info.
I have seen a wicked deal on Gumtree for one.

Sorted.
Submitted by Ben Derecki on Sat, 2015-06-13 10:47The powerpoints and fridge are working fine in my Jayco Hawk but the lights have stopped working for some reason. I have no knowledge of electrics but I'm guessing it's just a circuit thing... I've had a look around for anything that might be obvious to the uninformed but nothing's jumped out at me.
Anyone got any advice on where I should be looking or if you're SOR and want some quick cash or a slab can you PM me or give me a buzz / text 0430 172 671?
Cheers
