Why men are happier

You can wear NO shirt to a water park.

Wrinkles add character.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.

You can open all your own jars.

Your underwear is $4.99 for a three-pack.

You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one colour for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look !
You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife..
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a moustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

There are some good buggers on this site
Submitted by Alan James on Tue, 2014-06-24 16:00After recently having the hydraulic rams replaced on my boat I was left with some stainless steel rod that I thought I could put to good use. A custom made iki jime spike. I approached a small fab shop in Osborne Park and they wanted an arm and a leg. No thank-you. Then I saw in a recent post that Andy (Sea-kem) has a workshop in Welshpool. No problems he said and a call to Uncle Dan's on the way to Welshpool had the tariff sorted.
Good to meet you Andy and thanks again. It is flash as, now I need to go kill some fish.

Drinks and Face to Face Footy Banter
Submitted by big john on Mon, 2014-06-23 19:27Thinking about organising a face to face catch up for all of us who have had some fun with the footy banter threads over the years.
Obviously have to be on a weekend and would like to give it a bit of lead time to encourage as many as possible to attend.
Thinking a NOR venue as I'm organising it, if you're keen list your preference for a day/time/venue and we'll go from there.
Should be a bit of fun.![]()

Car/bag Stolen (in laws)
Submitted by dant on Mon, 2014-06-23 15:16Gday All,
Some low life has walked into my mother in laws place this afternoon and stole her bag and car whilst they were upstairs this afternoon, unbelievable they are, gets me real fkn angry - the thief was identified as he drove away smashing the car whilst reversing - medium build and of dark complexion.
The car is a Black Mazda 3 with number plates JAYDA 07 - so should be quite easy to find. Im hoping someone can spot him driving around and catch the bastard in the act....
Thanks All
Cheers

Happy Winter Solstice.
Submitted by Dale on Sat, 2014-06-21 10:10Woo hoo, today's the day. I don't know why I look forward to this, but the days starting to lengthen again means it's close to warming up. And for an arthritic old bastard like me, that can only be a good thing. And for those as interested as me, the precise time for the solstice is 18:51 this evening. Freo should be about 5 goals up by then.
Cheers

Jurien Bay
Submitted by fish 06 on Fri, 2014-06-20 12:26Just wondering, if there is any one on here that fishes Jurien Bay on a regular basis, ( boat fishing )
and would not mind a tag along, as it's been over 20 years since I have fished up that way and I am sure things have changed just a bit.
I work a week on week off roster, so looking at doing at least a 2 day thing or just tow the boat up for the day and drive home.
Feel free to pm me and I will give you my number and we can catch up for a chat, might go for a drive on Monday and have a look around

Wood fired pizza oven build
Submitted by scano on Wed, 2014-06-18 09:13Hi all,
not fishing related but I thought I would ask the question and put the feelers out there for some info on building a wood fired pizza oven.
i was wondering if anyone one on here has had experience building their own or assisting with building one?
or better yet if someone on here builds them for a job?
looking to find out the best options to get one built at a good price and so it will last. It will obviously be outside in the weather most of the time (not under a patio or anything) so bricks and mortar would be the obvious go to.
if anyone can shed some tips, info on prices or just general knowledge on the subject I would appreciate it.
thanks
scano

Restricted Coxswains?
Submitted by Versus on Mon, 2014-06-16 21:28Gday all,
interested in doing Restricted Coxswains (aka grade 2). Challenger TAFE doesn't even run the course as far as I can tell, and Perth Boat School (formerly Swan Maritime?) don't have anything till after July (was hoping to do during July...). Just wondering if anyone knows somewhere else that does it as this is all i can find on google, in perth anyway.

round 14...
Submitted by randall df223 on Mon, 2014-06-16 19:41Here we are discussing round 14.
I want to start this off purely to state my admiration for a wonderful player, Jonathon brown. Unfortunately I feel we have seen the last of him on an afl ground, and that is our loss. He has taken one too many knocks to the head to play on. If he chooses wisely too call it quits, he does so with my absolute respect. A player that has only a focus for the ball and to the detriment of the game he put his head in the way. I fear for his wellbeing. I hope for his sake, he makes a decision based upon what is best for him and his loved ones.

Rock fishing safety equipment to be installed along the south coast
Submitted by bod on Sun, 2014-06-15 09:49Rock fishing safety equipment to be installed along the south coast
Fisheries Minister Ken Baston today announced 28 rock anchor points, 10 angel rings and various safety signs are about to be installed by Recfishwest along the south coast of Western Australia.
“The initiative is part of a $300,000 State Government strategy, launched in 2012, to improve rock fishing safety over three years,” Mr Baston said.
“Recfishwest is to be congratulated for progressing this initiative which has involved working in a collaborative way with local coastal communities.
“Approvals for the installation of the equipment have been received and, providing weather conditions allow, the safety equipment will be fitted by Recfishwest this month around Esperance, Ravensthorpe and along the south coast.”
The installations include nine rock anchor points at Thistle Cove, four at Hellfire Bay and three each at Wharton Beach, Quagi Beach, Thomas River, Dolphin Cove and Dunn Rocks. Angel rings will be installed at many of these locations and also at Starvation Bay, Skippy Rocks and Twilight Beach.
“The new works are in addition to the already funded installation of 10 rock anchor points and two angel rings around Albany - including at the dangerous Salmon Holes - and will this year also see safety equipment in the Shark Bay area,” the Minister said.
Mr Baston met with Esperance fishers, and representatives of Recfishwest, at Salmon Beach to discuss rock fishing safety initiatives.
“There have been at least 22 rock fishing fatalities since 2002 in WA alone so these safety initiatives are extremely important and complement other measures around Esperance, including free loan life jackets and community education,” he said.
“Often rocks appear dry and safe, but it only takes one large wave to sweep a fisher into the ocean. Recreational fishers need to be aware that without proper precautions, rock fishing can be an extremely dangerous pastime.”

Got to wonder!
Submitted by Dazza1611 on Fri, 2014-06-13 21:10I must say that some people really do my head in.
decided for a quick fish after work tonight, headed down to Woodies around 4:30, 2 boats in the retrieval lane, 1 tied up. So that leaves 2 ramps free. Undid the ropes and start to back down and a pair of blokes come in and land on the ramp I am backing down too! Why is it so hard to look up when you pick your spot to come in?
so pull up again, change rope to other side and back down the ramp. Bloody frustrating though.
rant over, thanks for reading.
