UFC 158

Not fishing related (sorry) can anyone tell me where UFC 158 is playing near Two Rocks or Yanchep. Don't want to miss this one.

Finally its gone

Well since mid November we have had an excavator posing as a channel marker in to the Fascine at Carnarvon.

After many attempts and broken cables its finally been dragged out of the water. For the last couple of days two excavators and two big winches mounted onshore have finally dragged it to shore.  The excavators had to dig around it while the winches had strain on to get it to shift and slowly they managed to get it moving.

Sorry no pics of the job in progress only one of the ones put up before in the original thread.

Hi All,

Searched the forums with no results, just wanted to know if anyone has used the new CFX series from Waeco, the 65 DZ in particular. There are a few reviews on the web, but wanted to see any advice on here. Not trying to start a Engel versus Waeco thats allready been flogged to death. Just reviews on the Waeco.

Cheers Pooie

STOLEN BOAT

Stolen boat from wanneroo back yard on the aust day long weekend

Wetliners to be fitted with shark shields

Heard on the locan GWN news that there is a proposal to fit wetliners with sharkshields in an attempt to stop their losses of fish taken by sharks. The areas are here in Carnarvon,Exmouth and I think the others were Gero and Kalbarri.

Someone ought to tell them that the fish get taken at about 20 feet off the bottom not 20 feet under the boat because I cannot see them lowering the shield down each time they do a drop them having to pull it in when they crank up to motor back to to the mark or the next spot, one slip and its sliced to bits in the prop   ......oh well, better luck with the next one.

They would be better off opening the areas up to sharkfishing again but with regulations on size limits and no Australian markets for big thickskins from northern waters any more, [we used to export all our northern catch to Asia, it included huge tigers, hammers, pigeyes and thickskins, all bone out, bone out and plastic wrapped in 9 kg lots] so it would have the greenies up in arms to have it all go for petfood or fertiliser.

Fking Iphones

beware-just did an update on my iphone as Apple suggests, following the process.

Did a backup beforehand, then after the update and restore tried to restore my backup only to find it requesting a password to access it.

The backup was not encrypted either before or after the backup and would not accept any of my usual passwords either.

2 1/2 hours on the phone to Apple to reveal that there is NO way to bypass the password whether youve forgotten or (in this case) its asking for a password when there shouldnt be one.

End result is loss of every bit of data, photos (including Abrolhos) text etc on my phone

to lighten up monday

Went out last night and got really pissed and wasted.

I woke up next to a fat chick who was snoring and farting.

At least I got home O K !!

The wife's back on the warpath again,

she was up for making a home movie last night and

all I did was suggest we should hold auditions for her part.

I've accidentally swallowed some Scrabble tiles. My next shit could spell disaster.

My sister-in-law sat on my glasses and broke them.

It was my own fault.

I should have taken them off.

I spent a couple of hours defrosting the fridge last night.

Or "foreplay" as she likes to call it.

After both suffering from depression for a while,

me and the wife were going to commit suicide yesterday.

But strangely enough….once she killed herself I started to feel a lot better.

So I thought, "Fuck it"….soldier on.

I woke up this morning at 8 and could smell something was wrong.

I got downstairs and found the wife face down on the kitchen floor, not breathing !

Toast burning, saucepan boiling over.

I panicked. I didn’t know what to do.

Then I remembered, McDonalds serve breakfast until 11.30 a.m.

The other night, my wife asked me how many women I'd slept with.

I told her "Only you. All the others kept me awake shaggin' all night ! "

My missus packed my bags and as I walked out of the front door she screamed...

"I wish you a slow and painful death you b***ard !"
"Oh" I replied, "so you want me to f*****g stay now !"

A girl I know said the last time she had sex, it was like the men's Olympic 100m final.

I laughed "Over in 9.5 seconds ?"

"No ! " she said "Eight black men and a gun".

Catholic boy in confession says bless me Father I have sinned, I had a wank while thinking about my sister.

That's a disgrace said the priest, especially when you have two gorgeous brothers

I'm about to take part in the Great Bradford Run.! ?

It's not an official race, I just stand in the City Centre & shout "Allah is a F*****g Tosser" &
then off we all go....

A government survey has shown that 91% of illegal immigrants come to Britain so that they can see their own doctor.

I've just fitted strobe lights in the bedroom, It makes the wife look like she's moving during sex.

Hillarys Boat Show - Trailer parking this weekend

If you are thinking of launching at Hillarys this weekend think again. The Hillarys boat show this weekend will be taking up half the trailer parking area so parking your car and trailer maybe limited.

How do you search for a Fishwrecked member?

Hi all

I've been wondering whether you can do a search for a FW member if you know their 'username'?

I've tried using the search function but as it uses google as a search engine, you find all manner of stuff but maybe not what/who you are looking for. Not looking for a specific member at the moment, but just a general question.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Queensland to W.A freight/couriers help?

Hi I'm trying to get my new outriggers sent over from Gladstone but because of the dimensions of the package (230x35x35 12kg) the best quote I got so far is about $500.  And 35cm only comes from the bases

Does anyone of a decent freight company that's worth a try?

Perth Removalists

My wife and I will be selling our S.O.R. river home in the next month or so and will be shifting to a N.O.R. suburb.  Being from the "bush", we have no knowledge of removal firms that can be relied on to do a good job at a reasonable price.  Any advice from anyone who has recommendations (good or bad) will be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Fishwrecked footy tipping 2013 EOI

Hi guys can I get a show of hands please of those that would join the footy tipping comp this year.

Last year was good but a bit short of interest so just wondering if I should run it again this year? I know a lot of people prefer super coaching now.

Thanks, Jude

Buying Cheapi fridges & genni`s

Lads & Ladettes,

Thinking about buying a 2nd fridge freezer, I see you can get some cheapies that look the same as my 49L Waeco and are running the Danfos Compressors. Has anyone bought any of these they seem to be about 60% of the price of the Waeco?

Also thinking about buying a 1kva genni, again dont need to be spending $1100 on a Honda which are obviously top of the wazza, you can also get the 4 stroke cheapi versions that seem like good value for camping etc. Opinions from people that have bought these please... ( yes i know you get what you pay for )

Cheers

A great day out.

After booking a spot on Lucky Last Cast about 1 month ago the day arrived. After working all day on Saturday headed off to Jurien at 8.30 pm and arrived at just after 11 without seeing too many roos on the way. Got to the apex camp where i booked a room for 2 nights but i only managed about 2 hours sleep in anticipation of whats to come.

Arrived down at the boat at around 4am . we headed off from the marina at 4.30 heading south i think. we arrived at our first spot as the sun rose from the horizon with almost flat calm waters with only a hint of a swell.

The fishing started off slow but it picked up soon enough. As coincidence goes the fish came on the bite as Pink flloyd started playing through the speakers (one of my fave,s).

Soon enough i managed to get a small bauldie of around 43cm on board after a couple of red throats were released . Next up for me was a reasonable pinkie followed closely by my pb Bauldie of 48cm and soon after a new pb bauldie of 52cm so i was a happy chappy. i managed to get another small pinkie of around the 45cm along with a nice b/bum.

As the wind died off the drift slowed down quite a bit which made it a bit more dificult but the fish were still comming on board. 2 dhuies were boated along with a small sambo and a small ambo followed by a decent size ambo that gave a bit of curry.

I gave the jigging a quick go but being a novice i realy had no idea of what i was doing so just followed suit. as i started cranking the jig up it got hit big time only to be bitten off clean within a few seconds so that was the end of jigging for me. Within a couple of minuits a couple of huge who,s surfaced within 10 meters of the boat and was suggested that thats what could have taken my jig as there were a couple of frayed bits of line right at the end.

All up i managed to land @ legal pinkies, 3 legal bauldies , 1 decend b/bum, 2 undersize bauldies and from memory 3 or 4 red throats. so all up i had a fantastic day out with a great bunch of guys, along the day there were some good laught as we were all getting onto the fish.

the biggest fish of the day may not have been huge but a dhuie of about 7kg topped the day. Also a couple of tuna were taken on jig, first was a stripey taken on the surface then a yollowfin taken close to the bottom.

There was plenty of other fish caught for the day by all on board as well. just thought i would mention just a few

Thanks Dave for the great day on the water .

Boycott 2013

Hey Everyone !

Just wanted to let everyone know how my trip ( aka BOYCOTT ) went last week. Well in short was an absolute cracking trip probably the best one in as long as I can remember, got off to a rocky start with a flat tyre and a 2 hour detour to come home and get the boat key ( don't even ask !!! ) the trip came through in leaps and bounds !!!

Leeman is one of the nicest places I have ever been in my life ( except for the seaweed ) and every single person that lives there could not do enough for you while you're in their town.

First two days we went out to Dumper Passage and found some really nice spots which produced some awesome fish.

Third day we went out to Dumpers again and we got heaps of size Dhuis but threw them back as it had been producing bigger fish then all of a sudden they went off the bite.  So we decided to take a trip out to the beagle islands but after the trip out we decided we just weren’t comfortable being out there without any local knowledge, I just had that feeling so we headed back.  So after a few more hours we headed back in and while cleaning the boat we met a really top bloke named Garry who said he was more than happy to show us a couple spots the next day when he headed out, obviously we were over the moon and agreed.

Fourth day met up with Garry down the ramp and we headed out to an undisclosed location :) after about 30 minutes we arrived and we started a drift with him.  No kidding it took him and his mate 30min before they bagged out and headed back in, not before giving us a couple more pointers and locations which was awesome !!!!  Well after they left my goodness all rods started screaming fish after fish for a solid 3 hours it was amazing.  We too ended up bagging out that day which was great but honestly must of landed at least 20 monsters each in the process of doing so.

One of the craziest things that happened that day was hearing Darrens ( brother in law ) rod scream so I turned to see what was on it and as I turned around all I seen was his rod go flying out of the rod holder and off the back of the boat into the water so you could imagine I was half screaming at him to jump in and grab it but then the other half hysterically laughing at him.  Well he didn’t jump in and probably fortunate that he didn’t because 10 minutes later we see fins rise out of the water and start cruising towards the boat it was a little 5 foot hammer head so Darren goes for the camera and as he does a monster at least 12 foot tiger goes cruising past by far the biggest shark I have ever seen !!!

Well anyway hope that wasn’t too bad to read.  The photos that I have put up are not even close to all the stuff we caught but just a few to show you.

Anyway hope you enjoy.

Chris

why is fish so expensive in Perth?

just out of interest why is fish so expensive in Perth? When ilived in Darwin i could buy  jewfish at $20 a kg, when i lived in melbourne recently snapper was about 10 a kg. over here its almost double any idea why? Eye fillet is cheaper to buy!

WA pichards were$4 a kilo yetover here wa pilchards aka mullies are almost 10 a kilo! Does the fishing industry sell most of there catch to other states leaving a very small percentage for us over hear and charge a premium for the slim pickings created or is there some other reason? Can anyone recommend a reasonable place to buy fresh fish SOR?

cheers old salty

Holden Colorado RC owners?

G'day fellas Is there any Holden Colorado Rc diesel owners out there?

I'm slowly saving up some money and looking and putting some upgrades on my girl. It's fully stock LTR model right now so I was thinking of starting with:

3 inch full exhaust

Snorkel

Then a performance module to get a bit more out of her

32s and a lift to fit them

Then extras like roof rack etc for touring

I know it will take a while with apprentice wages but i know it will be worth it!! It's mainly used on beach tracks like willibinga and every now and then a trip to the powerlines as its just up the road. But longer trips north and south are on the cards.

So anyone tricked out there Colorado or can recommend someone I can talk to? Cheers in advance for any help

rob

Woohoo

Well here it comes boys. Two days of glorious fishing this weekend.Hopefully will have something to report next week. All those that are getting out ....enjoy!!

Is there fishing classes for kids?

Hey fellas, basically I've had it with my missus signing up my kids to all these stuff on my one day off. Tennis, swimming, piano, guitar. Every second week I have to take the kids to all these things, I don't mind except I'm stuck with all these people( mostly mums) for the whole day talking about cup cakes and such...

As fishing is apparently ' Australia's most popular recreational acivity' , is there any fishing lessons for my kids to attend at some fishing club weekly? Heck, I'm paying for all these other things I might as well pay for something that I enjoy doing with my kids, and hanging out with fellow fishos and talk crap about fishing for a couple of hours.

Cheers

Rant

Ok, I know this is a public forum for everyone.  But seriously, what is the excuse for poor English?

words and phrases like uses guys, thort, sore you out their, it was there fish, I bought my boat to the river, definate instead of definite, etc etc.  very trivial I know, but you people don't make sense. It's very frustrating, and in today's world that we live in there is no excuse for it!

same with punctuation.  It's the difference between knowing your shit, and knowing you're shit.

For those people that say it doesn't matter, well it does.  It's the English language, we use it every day.  We should be good at it.  How many of us get shitty at foreigners who can't speak English properly?  Pretty disgusting when such a huge percentage of us can't even use our own language properly.

there will always be exceptions to the rule such as stupid auto correct, and abbreviations.

Rant over.  Sorry about that everyone.  Though I do feel much better.

V8 supercars

With the V8 hitting the roads this weekend , what is you opinion of Nissan and Mercedes entering the race.
