I recon there must be a few fello fishwreckers who have done this trip .
What im chasing is any info you might have for this trip..

Ie.. places to camp , places to steer clear of....

Also chasing somewhere where i can get some reliable weather forcasts..been using the BUOY site ...latey its been giving me a bum steer in the wind dept..

i'm looking at buying a tinny 2 scout around the beaches off scarborough, hillarys etc...can you catch a feed of flathead on the drift from these areas?

does anyone else find it hard to get a reply from shikari charters? i have rang several times as apparantly they are the pick of the litter and apart from one vague reply havent heard back from them? i acknowledge they're prob busy but are there other charters of similar calibre i could try? i'm keen to get out roughly 2-3 times a month over dec-mar...

I am looking to get a shade cover or a decent sized bimini for my 4.1m tinny. Its starting to get into the 40's and I really need to get some sun protection. I just did a search on boatsonline and found an identical boat to mine but with the bimini. Does anyone know where I can buy one when I'm back in Perth?

many thanx to the guys from rockingham sea rescue for thier awesome service when my mates boat had electical failiure today great job . also thanks to the couple in the big wellcraft i think it was who also made contact with kc for us and stuck around till alpha 1 got there cheers to all concerned

i recently put a set of HID spotlights on my patrol and am so happy with them the light is so white and bright, not cheap but well worth the money, what i was wondering was whether anyone has got or seen a set of the h4 conversion hi/low beam set thats available for the normal lights in the car, been having a look to upgrade the globes as they arent too bright so thought maybe this might be another way of getting better light, can get a set for around $100 odd from ebay. any help would be great

Any recommendations on what phone I should get (3G, next G, GSM) for best overall coverage, both for around Dampier/Karratha and also for the long drive up to Karratha?
I plan on getting a car kit put in to increase range and reception.

I have not used my boat for a few months due to weather, work and commitments and unfortunately it is parked outside on the verge.  I was readying the boat for a fish and have discovered that my fire extinguisher, boat hook , gaff, eprib, and life jackets have been stolen. 

Yeah yeah, I know, I should not leave these things in my boat, but ...........  sigh!  Wish the pr*cks would use their own money to buy stuff instead of stealing form someone else.

Well after having my standard 600wt transducer ripped off the back of the boat on sunday out from ocean reef i went into freo to the jrc dealer to go get a new transducer for my  FF50.
what i was wondering wass how many other people have upgraded to a 1kw transducer and have found it to be well worth the money or regret it and thought they should have just gone the standard one again considering the 1kw one cost me $1100?

Well, I'm finally headed up to Jay and PilbaraBrad's way at the end of this month.
I'm picking up my new Suzuki Vitara in Perth and will be driving to Karratha.
I haven't driven in over 12 months as I've been living in the UK (London) for the last couple of years.

Any advice that you can give to make the drive safer would be good.
I'm planning on stopping for the night in Carnarvon on the way up.

Mum is going to fly over from Brisbane and share the driving duties.

So what do I need to look out for? Any particular bad stretches?  Be off the road before dusk?

Was looking at some of the profiles of those who are online and noticed that there are many members who havent filled out any details in their profile at all.

While I understand not everyone wants to advertise all the gear you may have or exactly where you are located, some info in your profile would be good for others to see for various reasons.



It is a helpfull thing for others to access when your asking a question as they can check to see if you are located SOR, NOR, Country, boat or shore based and alter their answer accordingly. Its also a good way for other forum members to get to know more about you rather than just as a name on a website.
