Looking for local work
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 2019-07-29 01:16Hi guys, I haven't been on here for some time as life has been pretty hectic lately. I was working up north on a civil job but that has now come to an end. Im now currently looking for any work around the mandurah area, I'm also willing to travel upto 100km for work. My background has been civil and mining the last 15 years but now want something close to home. I'm happy to pickup anything atm, more than happy to labour also. If anyone knows of anything please let me know so I can pass on my resume. Cheers in advance, Bevan.

Submitted by Billcollector on Fri, 2019-07-26 14:50Crunch time for a few teams this week with a few good contests to be had.
Tiges on form should get over the pies.
Hawks and lions should be a good game with lions continuing their march.
Won't surprise me if Carlscum get up.
Eagles over noth.
Saints over Melbourne to give Ratten a boost.
On ports hit and miss form they should win this week.
Doggies to be Ross"s downfall.
Cats over Sydney.
Essendon should get some percentage.
Weather up heres awesome so going fishing...lol

Lost Wallet
Submitted by karlos 22 on Tue, 2019-07-23 18:54A long shot but was anyone from here at the Coral Bay boat ramp on Friday 19th July and happen to find a wallet at the boat ramp/car park.
I think I dropped it Thursday evening when I went to get my car and trailer.
Not 100% sure that I lost it there but was the last place I had it, didn't really look for it until Saturday as a mate borrowed my boat and car on Friday to take his boys out and I thought I had left it on the boat/car.
Cheers, Karl

JWP v Mundine
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Sat, 2019-07-20 20:26Very interesting matchup. JWP had a promising boxing career of 10-3 with 10 KOs before he went back and won multiple muay thai world titles.
He is ultra aggressive, hits like a truck and is very skillfull and expect JWP to walk forward all fight and put Mundine under immense pressure.
Should be a cracker if Mundine actually tries to engage.

Round 18
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Thu, 2019-07-18 16:45The fight for second spot is still up for grabs and the Pies have four outs but some pretty handy ins. We know it can't be because of the ground because they make them tougher in the eastern states or some shit. Looks like West Coast might roll the dice on the 19y old ruckman who is very athletic but very raw but I can't see it happening.
Freo v Sydney... gee I hope it's not raining.
Fun fact from the stats files.
Freo have played 599 game for 247 wins whilst Sean Burgoyne has played 370 for 247 wins also to go with his four flags. Sean Burgoyne>Fremantle Football Club.

John papas trailers
Submitted by choc on Sun, 2019-07-14 19:44Hi all
My 20year old dunbier trailer needs replacing. Just wondering if anyone has a john papas trailer?
I have a 4.2 quintrex and the john papas trailers are a fair bit cheaper. I mostly do bitumen with a bit of gravel roads and beach launching.
Any info would be appreciated.

Round 17
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Thu, 2019-07-11 12:16Here it is. Friday night footy at Optus for the grand final rematch rematch. We’ll get to really see if NicNat really is back or whether he was playing on a glorified powerpole last week. It’s looking dry tomorrow night so if the Pies midfield deliver it forward like they did last Fri night McShovin might well end up with 43 marks for the evening. Win this one and a top 2 spot is within touching distance but lose and the Pies will get a sniff to get it back from us. I’m fairly confident going in but the Pies will be breathing fire after the last fortnight and I’ll be offering myself up to Skull and Unc on a platter if we go down after I finish walking the dog fo course.... haha.

Has anyone recently re-powered?
Submitted by Swompa on Wed, 2019-07-10 07:42My father is looking to re-power his 17 Guardian.
The boat currently has a 10 year old 70hp Yamaha 2 stroke on it. They mainly target squid and herring along with pulling cray pots so don't go too far or too fast.
IF anyone has recently done a re-power in the 70-90hp range, can you please let me know what you got and why?
Thanks in advance

Name and shame of well known fisho
Submitted by NORUN NOFUN on Sun, 2019-07-07 21:48Saw a bit of name and shame on social media tonight involving a well known fisho. Hopefully it is not true as it is a quick way to ruin someone. But on the other hand and if it is true then someone has certainly put it out there for all to see. What's your thoughts on outing people publicly on social media ?

Round 16
Submitted by Gadsy on Wed, 2019-07-03 13:04Could be another tough round for picking winners here.
Hawks vs Pies a tough one. Hawks have won the last couple and played well against the Eagles, but I'm tipping the Pies here.
Bombers vs Swans could go either way. Swans have improved and should win.
Suns vs Tigers should be an easy win for the Tigers
Port vs Crows showdown I'm going for the Crows, but could go either way
Doggies vs Cats should be a win for the cats, but the dogs could surprise everyone
Western Derby I'm going to be loyal and pick the Eagles who should win a tight one
Blues vs Dees a toss up, but I'm tipping the Dees
Norfs vs Saints a must win for the Saints to stay in the hunt for 8th spot, but Norf to win
GWS vs Lions another each way game, but GWS has had the wood on the Lions for a while and that should continue
Happy tipping folks!

4x4 which one
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Fri, 2019-06-28 17:59after a bit of advice from people in the know.
were looking at getting a 4x4 ute to carry a slide on camper and tow the boat . prob is i feel we might need a cruiser or patrol to cope with the weight. allowing around 900kg on the back and boat close to the 2000kg. thinking the smaller ones might struggle a bit too much . unless we can get upgraded suspension. then the other prob would be fuel consumption . along with the budget wont be huge so got to be a bit older around the 2008 up
any positive info would be great on any vehicle.

internal door - Chippie question
Submitted by Michael Yoni on Fri, 2019-06-21 21:19Hopefully there are some chippies here.
I have a couple on internal doors that I need to trim ~25mm from the height. They are the stock standard Hume hollow doors. Do you know what the thickness of the rail is. I am hoping to plane 12mm from the top and 12mm from the bottom (if I cannot domm 25 from one end). Do I have to be concened about the corners - where they joing the stiles?. If that is the case planing 12mm from each side might be the go.
Thanks

Submitted by Dale on Sat, 2019-06-15 13:17Reading a few things that are forecasting big storms next weekend for right up and down the west coast, Perth to get a drenching and possible 100mm rain events for Exmouth, Coral Bay etc. Windy shows it nicely.

Stolen Furuno electronics
Submitted by resurgence on Tue, 2019-06-11 16:29I had the following gear stolen over the weekend from my boat:
Furuno FCV-1150, S/N 2256-5563
Furuno TZT215 S/N 1000-3110-2829
Reports have been submitted to the relevant authorities. I don't hold much hope of having the gear returned but might help someone avoid stolen equipment.
Cheers.

Preferences and opinions
Submitted by carnarvonite on Mon, 2019-06-10 12:04Noticed that when someone asks for an opinion on an item they are thinking of buying etc, they already have made up their mind before asking the question.
Those who answer his query will always come out with their preference and won't be willing to admit that they may have made a stuff up with something they may have bought or done in the past but insist that theirs is the right way to go. We all make mistakes, I have bought rods and reels on someones insistence and found some are buckets of pus but others are still in use today, like about 4 or 5 Mitchell 499 reels and 3 Butterworth beach rods I bought 50 years ago when they were the rage, others like a couple of Penn, Daiwa and Shimano reels sit in a box gathering dust because in my opinion I shouldn't have followed others advice.
My answer is, do your own research and back your decision as its all part of learning life isn't easy and money doesn't grow on trees like our Govt tells us.
Gps points given to you by others can be in the same basket, I have been given heaps over the years only to find that when you look for them they are not there, wasting valuable fishing time doing expanding circles with both eyes glued to the sounder expecting it ti pop up and doesnt yet I have been asked for spots from when I pro fished down south, given pages of them away and not received a single thank you or any feedback on what they have caught off them
Rant over, Cmon the Pies
