Dusk fishing off Mandurah on the FFB
Submitted by RynoJ on Tue, 2015-09-01 18:57G'day guys, just wandering if anyone has done any dusk/night fishing on the five fathom bank off mandurah. Was thinking about heading out on a still evening, anchoring and burley the crap out of the water and chucking a couple of baits out the back. Has anyone had much luck in doing somthing like that.

2 Last Minute Spots for Fiji Trip
Submitted by Compleat Nedlands on Tue, 2015-09-01 11:49We've unfortunately had 2 members of our Fiji trips pull out at the last minute so are looking to fill the spots.
The first trip is running from 25th September 2015 - 3rd October 2015 and the second trip is running from the 22nd October - 30th October (both dates coincide with full moon/peak water movement) Included is 6 days fishing, 7 days accommodation, all meals (not alcohol).
The price is $2500 plus your flight from Perth to Nadi. We had 2 fantastic trips last year and the potential to tangle with all the big species (Maori Wrasse, Dogtooth,GTs, Yellowfin, Coral Trout, Wahoo etc etc.)
For more information please get in contact with us at the shop or drop us an email and we can send you out a PDF brochure of the trip details.

Maxwell cray pot winch wiring
Submitted by doublej on Mon, 2015-08-31 13:13Anyone wired one of these up before.
I've got in my head to go straight from - on the battery to the winch (which will be on my starboard side)
Then + to a fuse then to the foot switch then to the winch...(I want the foot switch on the port side with the tipper)
I think that is right....But I want to put my foot switch into the side of the gunnel (permanent)to activate with my knee on the port side.
In that case I'd have to run wiring up the port side then back all the way around and up the starboard side. (Hope that makes sense)
Does anyone use the foot switch & if so is it portable or fixed....Maybe I could just run it up the starboard side as well & just make it portable with some flexible wire & put it in the gunnel or cabin when finished.
Any ideas would be appreciated......
Boats only 6.5mtr fibreglass.

Ci4 4000 and???
Submitted by JAB86 on Sun, 2015-08-30 18:22Hi,
I have recently purchased a Stradic ci4 4000 and have the opportunity to purchase a t-curve T series 722 snapper spin 3-6kg. Was wondering if anyone had any feedback on this rod. I'm looking for a all rounder entry level set up in to light jigging, soft plastics for snapper etc and poppers for the trailer. Any feedback would be great.

Mid-sized spin reel on a budget
Submitted by Hutch on Sun, 2015-08-30 16:30Hey guys, in the market for a mid-sized spin reel for beach and rock work as well as inshore on pinks, sambos and the likes.
Budget is up to $200 (but preferrably less) and looking for a 4000 sized Daiwa or 5000 sized Shimano reel.
Have been looking at a few reels like the Aird 4000SH, Exceler 4000DX, stradic 5000FJ and possibly the spheros 5000SW if I can get a good deal.
I am mainly looking for durability, I abuse my gear pretty hard and often gets a drenching in the rain and spray and would like to run 20 or 30lb braid on it for chucking lures for tailor and salmon as well as soaking baits.
All suggestions and opinions are most welcome
Cheers
Hutch

Moving rods Interstate
Submitted by wickky on Fri, 2015-08-28 22:02My time is up in W.A and moving back home to Brisbane.
Now the plan is to put all my rods and reels in the car and get the removalists to move the rest of the crap.
But if the rods cant fit in they will have to take them. I have bags for every rod and a plano airline case.
Was thinking of getting them wrapped in bubble wrap then the most expensive ones in the tube.
It is all insured but still not keen on them breaking my precious babies.
Anyone have any experience or tips?
Cheers Zac

Shark bay Boat fishing
Submitted by crasny1 on Thu, 2015-08-27 11:19Hi all
Heading to Shark bay/Denham and despite having fished up and down the coast in a boat all the way up to Broome never hit these waters. Will be Denham side. RandallDF has already given me a general pointer mostly Monkey Mia and squid sites but if anyone is willing to give some broad heading, direction to some ground.
Not realy fussed with freezer filling as we eat the YF whiting up there in preference. Just out for a little R&R and C&R fun, and if we get a good tably all the better.
Boat is a Traily 5.4 with 120l so could head to steep side if the weather permits.
Cheers

late arvo mulla
Submitted by tangles on Wed, 2015-08-26 15:42with light winds decided to take the tinny out for a quick mulla bash. First drop and off it goes. Ten minute hard fight
On the light gear and up came this ol girl.
Caught on .4-1 zeikel light spin jig 30lb braid on seagate 3500H. Amazing pulling power for what I have nicknamed (the whiting rod).
Bent to the butt and had a ball on the light stuff.
Ended up with another mulla round 10kg and nice cod and back in by dusk.
Quick sesh is a great sesh!!

FOUND 6 x Game Reels, Spooled and in perfect condition
Submitted by Stax on Wed, 2015-08-26 11:54As Stated, 6 x Game reels.
I will not go into exactly what they are but I am trying to find the owner.
It is beleived these reels were stolen from somebody in the last couple of weeks.
If you know anybody that has lost their gear let me know via PM
I will tell you this, there are four gold reels, one gray reel and one black reel. You will need to fill in the blanks if you want them back.
