LOWRANCE HOOK
Submitted by Sam57 on Tue, 2019-01-22 10:36Hi can anyone tell me withr the airmar p66 transducer will work on a hook 9 as im getting conflictilng advise. My standard transducer is playing up, drops out loads of sqiggley lines on screen depth goes to zero, I tried another spare one i had came in box when i upgraded from 7" after some scumbag decided to pinch it. anyway the new one worged for 2 trips then doing the same. I contacted Lowrance tech department and was told the p66t would work but when I contacted shop to see if they had one was told it wouldn't work only on hdi model. guy in shop also told me he had been selling lowrance for 15 years and never replaced transducer unless it had been damaged, he advised me to carry out upgrade., which I have done and it seems better, works out of water anyway. Just wondering if it plays up again would i be better changing to p66 if it will work and if resolution is any better. Cheers for any advise

Submitted by hookedacookey on Mon, 2019-01-21 12:41Had a great day out of Mindarie sunday! Weather was fantastic left at 430 with lines in the water at 530. Started off with 2 big baldies followed by a huge kg whiting and a couple of dhuies around the 70 mark.
Surprise catch of the day was a spangled emperor !
Kept the two baldies and two dhufish between the 2 of us.
Headed in by midday all fish caught in around the 30 metre mark

Hello all. I'm new to FW so hope I've posted this correctly.
I'm up in Port Hedland and curious to know if the Fingermark Snapper (Golden Snapper) can be caught in the local waters?
I've headed up to 45km straight out and done okay with Coral Trout, Blue Lined Emporer and even Reds but the Reds only come up about 45-50cm (No big Reds yet). Other spots I’ve tried include around the channel markers, dragon head, mackie mountain, Cornelisse Shoal and Coxan Shoal.
So without stealing anyone’s specific spot, if anyone knows where to point me I’d appreciate it.
Cheers, Myk

Fish from the weekend
Submitted by luke george on Sun, 2019-01-20 17:41Made the most of the good weather this weekend and got the boat out both days. Saturday started with some bluefin, took 1 for bait and 1 for a feed then released 5 or 6. That was enough of that so off for a bottom bash, picked up a double header of dhus both 60ish on the first mark. I was pretty happy to get them both in after untangling them from a line and the sea anchor. Then went to have a jig but found some new ground on the way, 3 drops and we filled our bag with 2 reds and 2 blackass. Top day and 2 pbs upped for myself
Today started much the same grabbing one tuna for bait and releasing a couple then straight to the ground I'd found yesterday. The fish were on the chew again and we picked up some more reds a pink and another blackass. Highlight of the day was the 2.5m shark we had chasing most of our fish up, almost had his head in the net while chasing one of the reds. If only the weather was like this every weekend.

Yesterday's Run
Submitted by sea-kem on Sun, 2019-01-20 12:36Headed out on what was meant to be a nice Easterly only to be greeted with shiteful strong southerlys. Anyway we endured and pushed ahead, and the result is what happens when your son has now out PB'd me witha 13.5kg beast. He also picked up a nice whiskery of 10kg. His day for sure.

Still geeting reasonable bags of crays and they are still whitish.

Launching at Cape Preston for the Monties
Submitted by ranmar850 on Fri, 2019-01-18 15:01I'm in the very early stages of planning for a trip to the Monties, in company with another bloke who's done it a few times. Trying to work out the dates, WRT to tides. Obviously want to fish the neaps. Does anyone have an hard info re the level of tide you need for a) crossing the creek and b) actually launching. He's a bit vague on what constitutes high and low enough. ie, cross the creek at 1.6m without having to drown the vehicle? launch at anything over 2m, or does it need 3 metres? He's only normally lauching his 615BC, and says the higher the better? But what would be a minimum? Tides for the estimated departure date.

Not ever having been there, my plan was to drive the 950 k to the Fortescue roadhouse the day before, accom for the night, get up early to be at the creek crossing at low, then wait for the tide to rise enough to launch? His approach is to drive over from Tom price overnight, cross the creek in the dark, then launch on high the next morning. But we'd have to wait until around the 16th to do that, and we are getting back into the big tides shortly after. any opinions?

Lost values
Submitted by meglodon on Tue, 2019-01-15 12:04Nothing has been learned by the Australians post the ball tampering fiasco. win at any cost remains supreme thought.
On the news last night there it is for all to see, what a great display of sportsmanship,...Not
An extra ball (which IMO) should have been called a no-ball or what ever is bowled and the batsman is caught out on it. With any self value there is no way the wicket should have been claimed or taken.
Australian cricketers have sold there honesty and respect for the all mighty dollar, and this is what our young up and coming sports people are watching/ So please don't use the words Australian cricketer and sportsman in the same sentence because it's a bloody contradiction.
Totally discussted with it and won't be watching any cricket of any persuasion with Australians involved.
