Still at it bit later start today

Started of slow but got a nice feed back at the ramp at 8am.

two rocks

left two rocks marina around 3.30 Sunday morning heading out wide. Was a bit slow heading out due to conditions & travelling in the dark, with a spotlight to dodge the cray pot floats.

Found our spot in the 40's & started fishing right on day break. My cuz landed a very nice 65cm Baldie & a shark. I managed my PB Dhu at 77cm also caught 3 more baldies between 40 & 50cm. Threw 4 more baldies back.

Long slow drive home again, but it was great to break a fishing mojo drought of nearly 12 months for me

Fishing Robin Hood style

Anyone got the current regs on bow fishing, last time I checked (15yrs ago) you wern't allowed to shoot fish from a boat only land based or jetty? Just after some Mullet for bait.

Bait run into the smoke..

Swung out inshore at gentleman’s hour . Extra

large pike we’re in the order !! Me and shore

catch cal were in for the long yards .. the

larger ones eludes us but still managed too

pin a few ! And then we came across a mass

of herring holding up high which got our bag

within 20 minutes no more !! Cracker day and

back in at 12am !! Cheers pirate ...

Fortescue rivermouth

G'day all. When you've launched from the mouth of the river for a Montes trip, do you leave your car at the launch site or is there somewhere else to park? In addition, what is the security situation like for the parked cars/trailers?

Fishing sun glasses

This question has probably been asked more than once before so appologies for that.

Any recommendations for fishing sunglasses please? - Boat and beach.

Is it worth spending top dollar or is a pair of cancer council sunnies from a pharmacy just as good?

Rotto crays

Borrowed a mates metal collapsable pots pulled the 3 times since Tuesday for 1 cray. Set them on Roe Reef in 13m for 1 cray then moved closer to island of Armstrong Bay in 13m for 0 crays so back to Roe for 0 crays. Any advise where I’m going wrong or is no one catching in those depths at Rotto at the moment. Oh and bait pots loaded with tuna heads. Re depth I’m limited by the 15 of rope.

Cervantes Accomodation

Had a quick look on the search function but couldn't find too much.

Looking for accommodation for 3 days in march at Cervantes that is suitable for 4 blokes fishing trip. Accomodation must allow for parking for a boat. Anyone got any recommendations please?

Cheers

Friday Funnys

Tarwhine (Silver Bream) Swan River

Hi guys I have already made a forum about black bream and dont no if tarwhine are just the same but imo tarwhine taste better than black bream and I would like to catch some bigger versions and looking for some info from you guys. So what is the best bait, best rig, best tides, best time of day, best time of year for bib tarwhine and where is the best spots in the swan for big tarwhine or silver bream. Cheers.

Swan River Tailor

Hi guys my biggest tailor from the swan is 35cm so not massive but I hve heard they get to 60cm and generally use lures but found the new trend is trolling mullies on gangs talking to other fishos but it would be great to get some more advice in regular fisherman like me. So what is the best time of day to catch tailor presumer in periods of dark when they feed, what is the best tides, best time of year for big ones, is there any secret bait besides the usual mulie or pilchard, what is the best rig with what lb leader and where is the best spots just for big ones in the river so I can get some line peelin off my reel. Cheers.

Swan River Mullet

Hi guys I have recently got into bull shark fishing and have found the best bait is mullet getting runs or bitten off by them however it is just store bought mullet and I figured I would get more runs on fresh mullet as fresh for most probably all fish is best. So since I have never targetted mullet before where are the best spots for them. I am only 13 so have to ride and I live around canning bridge but am willing to ride far if there are lots of mullet. Cheers.

Swan River Crabs

Hi guys now that it is prime time for crabs and yet to catch a feed I need some tips on how to get the big crabs in the swan not having a great previous track record only getting tiny buggers. So what is the current trend in the best bait even though there are many, what is the best tides and best time of day and most importanatly where is the best spot in the river at the moment to get a feed but also the best spot the get the big blues just for bragging rights. Cheers.

Black Bream Swan and Canning River

Hi guys my biggest swan/canning river bream to date is only 38cm and I am looking at catching my first 40cm as I know they can get to 50 in the river. However, I need some tips to catch them, so what is the best bait as I think this gets u bigger ones, what is the best rig, what is the best time of day, best tides, best time of year for big ones and where is your favourite spots. Cheers.

Swan River Herring

Hi guys I dont know if you watch the youtube channel doms fishing adventures but I recently saw him catch herring in the swan and I would love to catch one as it would be a new species. So I need advice on what is the best bait or lures if they work better, what is the best tides, best time of day, best time of year, what is the best burley and where is the best locations in the swan river. Cheers.

Swan River Whiting

Hi guys I am yet to catch my first swan river whiting and with the swan fish coming up and seeing whiting as one of the junior prizes I would like to know how to catch them even though I probably wont take out the win. So just wondering is bait better than lures for the big ones or vice versa and what is the best bait and what is the best lures, what is the best tides, best time of day, best time of year and most importantly where are the best spots or spots that at least hold whiting because I am completely clueless. Cheers.

Eagle Rays Swan River

Hi guys I know rays are a pest when chasing fish such as mulloway in the swan but since I am only 13 and I am not aloud to stay up all night I may as well target something easier and that hangs around all day which is the eagle ray. I have caught them previously and I just love there long powerful runs and which is why I recently bough a daiwa bg 8000 with 600m of 65lb braid to reel them in quicker. So just need a few tips such as what is the best bait, what rig should I use, what is the best time of day, best time of year, do tides matter and most importantly where are good spots in the swan river. Cheers.

Mulloway Swan and Canning River

Hi guys I know mulloway are the dream fish for most swan and canning river fishing and to catch one it is all about persistence and luckily I have that but I have never targeted them and figured I might be able to get some help on here. So what is the best rig such as hooks and lb leader, what is the best bait dead or alive, what is the best tides, best time of day and best time of year and what are the best spots in the swan and canning rivers. Cheers.

Bull Sharks Swan and Canning River

Bull sharks I know are very hard to come across is the swan but it is my dream fish just because of the way they look and how hard they fight. I think some people on this page would of caught them before or knows someone who has and just wondering some tips. So what gear will I need to chase them, what is the best bait, best time of year, best time of day, best tides, what are the best spots in the swan and canning rivers. Cheers.

Lacepede islands. Camping/fishing information wanted

Looking at doing a trip with a few boats over in April around the Easter/ANZAC day period. Have used to search bar function but cannot find too much information on where to launch from? I was thinking beagle bay or middle lagoon or banbana wells.

Are neap tides better or springs for chasing gts?

Has anyone camped there before and what set up did you use a pulley system?

Fishing wise just wanted to do some jigging and popping over the reefs. Can anyone shed some light on what else to target while over there?

Any information would be much appreciated and will make sure to do a report on the trip for people wanting to the same thing in the future.

YellowFin Whiting

Took the little one out for a flick in mandurah today with llittle success. Really struggling to find the fish and the little miss is getting a bit bored and frustrated haha. Tried Coodanup and South Yunderup but seem to be well out of my depth so any help would be appreciated. Trying topwater scumdogs and varying the retirieve but want to get amongst them to get the little one hooked.
