Guilderton Moore River 3 mile Reef
Submitted by Rochford16 on Mon, 2018-03-05 13:10Hey does anyone know whereabouts three mile reef in Guilderton is? Planning to go for an overnight fish one of the days.
Do you drive onto the beach at the groyne and head up the beach from there or do you need to access the beach from the tracks near the lighthouse?
How far up the coast is it?

Steep Point Availability
Submitted by RohanKok on Mon, 2018-03-05 10:28Good day ladies and gentlemen,
A few mates and I booked a camping site (Tip) at Shelter Bay from 27th May to 10th June 2018. Unfortunately we had to make the trip shorter due to unforseen circumstances and as such we cancelled the first few days of the booking last week. We will now only be going from 1st to 10th of June. That means that some lucky fisher will still be able to get a spot, that is if someone else hasn't already snapped it up. Thought I would let you all know so that perhaps a fellow FW member can get a spot.
Cheers!

PE 4 Jigging Combo ideas
Submitted by Rick on Fri, 2018-03-02 23:50Interested to hear what people are using
Currently have a great pe2 outfit that I use in shallow water, but looking for a slightly heavier combo that will allow me to fish a range of depths from 80 to 250m.
Most of the time it is jigs, but did go back to bait on the weekend and we did ok
Heres an idea of what im looking for.
Overhead reel prefer star drag but its not a deal breaker
Capacity around 400m of a quality braid with a BS of around 50lb, more interesting in actual breaking strain as opposed to a PE rating
Rod options will be a bit harder I imagine,as would like to be able to jig with it, but also drop sinkers if the fish arent playing ball
Budget, mid to higher end gear
Happy to hear what you are using or what you would suggest
Cheers
Rick

Insurance claim
Submitted by hayden on Fri, 2018-03-02 19:57Well first of all I have to thank sunshine aka Gordon if it was not for him I’ll be stuffed
january 15 my boat was broken into and the good person that did it had done some damage to my boat. They smashed open the lock on the door and Silly me left 2 rods 2 reels and my tackle bag in the locked cabin all stolen they also stole my flares and platinum card out the gps/sounder combo unit they did try and steal my simrad nss12 but could not get it out of the dash so they smashed the screen and damage the dash also stole my stereo was pretty devastated. So did the normal thing called the cops they did nothing cause it been raining and then called the insurance company, got told what they wanted got the necessary quotes sent all the photos and quotes off thinking cool should here back soon asking for bank details but not this time was to ask questions where my boat was and was told they would be looking into it. Unfortunately couple days later the phone call I didn’t want and that was to be told they declined my claim very devastated now, thinking the worst that I am now massively out of pocket and not being able to afford everything. Ended up reading a few post and found sunshine and so happy I did we need more people like Gordon cause mate you are a legend and don’t think I would have had the outcome I did without you. After speaking with sunshine and explaining my situation he was more than happy to help and could not believe what was happening, gave sunshine all the necessary documentation and authority to speak on my behalf to the insurance company, off went the response letter from sunshine and then we had to wait a few nervous weeks wondering and waiting many emails back and forth plus phone calls and then got the phone call on Monday from sunshine and it that just made my day that insurance company had reversed the claim and have now accepted it and will payout for the damaged goods plus some stolen items. I can’t thank sunshine enough I could keep saying it over and over definitely wish there were more people like Gordon in this world you are definitely one in a million mate and I appreciate everything you have done for me and my family
hopefully have the boat back in the water very soon now thanks to sunshine can’t wait
thanks
Hayden

Oversize Sign Set-up
Submitted by Belly Fish on Fri, 2018-03-02 11:57There has been some discussion about oversize sign set-up. This is what I do that works well. Soft split vinyl signs for the front of the Landcruiser and a single hard sign on an alloy frame that drops in my rear bait board holes on the back of the boat

Cervantes long weekend query
Submitted by backlash on Thu, 2018-03-01 19:20 hey guys - looking for some friendly advice.
thinking of taking the boat (5m plate ally) up to Cervantes this long weekend - forecast is predominantly for easterlies; fresh on Saturday and Sunday is dropping off to eventually be great by the time it is to leave on Monday.
looking at the Willy weather forecast...
what do you think...?
if i do take it out is there relatively good ground in close enough to not get pounded by the easterly wind waves?
any advice greatly appreciated.

Spare GPS.
Submitted by Deckie on Wed, 2018-02-28 07:38Hi folks, I am interested to know if anyone runs a second GPS/Sounder unit as a stand alone GPS.
I have a Elite5 chirp out of my tinnie that I am thinking of running alongside my HDS7.
Is there any pitfalls with doing this ? Is it worth setting up as a second combo unit?
I will still run the HDS7 but primarily as a sounder.
Your opinions are valued as always...

Cockburn sound storm
Submitted by gdupagne on Mon, 2018-02-26 14:08Decided to take the family out for a day on the Barcrusher yesterday. Knowing the wind was only getting better during the day we headed for the north end of Garden Island to find a piece of sand to park up on for the day. Noticed storm clouds building in the distance so we decided to head over to Carnack island and let the storm roll on by. What an amazing view we had. after the storm had passed we found out patch of sand enjoyed the day and let the kids practice their squidding skills.

Sons day Out
Submitted by Pedro the fisherman on Mon, 2018-02-26 09:40The plan was set to take my young bloke and Fishwrecker BIG Q and his boys for a sons day out yesterday and as the weather looked good out of bunbury anyway we set of about 10am.
Down the bay we headed first spot a couple of nice black arse for lucas /my boy/ and a fox fish to start the day .Looking back towards Mandurah and Perth way i can understand what weather you guys copped heavy cloud noticed..
2nd spot bit further down towards busselton in 30m and Lucas got his first dhuie about 57 cm in length .Big Qs boy ethan got his first a undersize one as well that went back .
3rd spot back towards Bunbury and same depth Big Qs other boy james dropped a nice fish but then ethan caught a ripper of a King George at 55cm . Then my rod took of from the back rod holder hit the top of the outboard cover and nearly went in the drink /lucky me.
A nice dhu of about 8-10kgs come over the side much to the boys laughing and high fives . Then time home was called about 3pm. A proud couple of dads and some very enthused boys ready for the next adventure.
