Braid for Lethal 100

 Hi guys,

About to order a Fin Nor Lethal 100 for my birthday and looking to either load it up with 50 or 65 lb braid.

Currently looking at Power Pro 500yds which is a decent price.

Just wanted to know what people think of Power Pro (heard mixed reviews) and if there are any other suggestions for around the same price ( 500yds for preferrably under $90). Similar price is the Fins PRT but heard too many bad reviews about it and its much thicker than most braids.

Thanks

Hutch

Why do we not have anodes on trailers

Why do we not have sacrificial anodes on our boat trailers?

just been looking at mine and there is a zinc coated plate with the Carlisle breakaway system and that has rusted up something bad. The trailer section where it is has no corrosion ?

Would they reduce the corrosion on trailers ?

Does anyone know what has been caught around mount henry bridge lately

im looking to try some lures bream tailor and put a big rig out as well

Montebello Islands Last Chance!!

Hey guys,

Last chance to get in on a cheap trip to the Montebello Islands early September!! I have a trip booked with Blue Lightning Charters for 7 days, 8 nights in the stunning Montebello Islands aboard their 55' Deep Sea Conquest and 26' Boston Whaler. This will be an amazing trip with low numbers on board and great fishing! Also available in conjunction is a trip to Exmouth (driving) for 3 nights prior to arriving in Karratha for the Montes trip, but will need to know ASAP if you would like to come! Please call me during work hours on 08 9389 1337 or e-mail me at for more information!

Thanks!

Protected water or calm water

Hi Guys..

planing to take fishing my grandpop and my old man in Perth. Normally I launch from ocean reef starting last year( just got my boat last yr).

It never been calm  so any suggestion for a protected or calm water , please don't tell me to go to river or pond.

Is it just me or it may be true , Rockingham or Cockburn sound is more proctected compare with freemantle , hillary or ocean reef ?

My boat:

old haines hunter 5.2m  with 90hp

Thanks Guys.....

cheynes beach

Gday lads

ive been doing some searching and ive not seen much info on this place apart from during salmon season. i went this year and it was hectic!

after seeing the number of salmon im thinking thered still be a decent number of em there that have stayed plus ith the amount of bonito we caught im hoping theyd still be around. main target would be a sambo off the rocks after one of the lads i went with pulled in a +- 25kg one on a 65g raider in april.

im planning a trip there late seeptember and was wondering if anyone has been there at that time?! what should i expect to catch?

will mainly be lures but bait too

any info would be awesome

cheers

Upcoming Fishing Trip in October

G'day

I have the old man and brother coming over from the east in mid October and I was chasing some ideas on where to go. I have a 670 Barcrusher and we were looking at going for a week. I was looking anywhere north of Perth up to Exmouth. As I'm unsure if theyll be here before the demersal ban start I was looking at more likely north of Kalbarri (Dirk, Coral Bay, Exmouth...). I'm set up and have gear for pretty much anything. My main concern would be the winds and swell at this time of year. If anyone has any ideas on where to go (where the fish are biting????) or where to avoid this time of year your help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Mackie Lures

Hi All

I know its probably a hotly debated subject but is it essential to have wire leadr on mackie lures? Or can you get away with just using a length of 200lb leader?

Can you buy pre maid wire leaders suitable or is it not worth it?

Cheers Jayce

If u know exxie. Can't paste link sorry

Palm Beach Boat Ramp Carpark -Break-ins:

Just be aware that several vehicles had windows smashed last weekend. All were parked in the large carpark in front of the boat tramp.

It would really piss you off coming back from a great days fishing to find your windows smashed and vehicle ransacked.

dawsville cut fishing

whats been caught at that small jetty recently? any skippy or tailor?

Biggest Fish - crapiest gear??

Just wonder what might be the best fish anyone has caught on "crap" gear.

Mine would have to be a Mulloway about 15kg caught on a real Woolworth special $10 rod-reel combo. BUT it was on a holiday in South Africa - so was a Kabeljou or Kob (SA for Mulloway). Near Cape Town - Strand.

Smoked the reel, was pretty much fused afterwards, broke the tip, one other guide near the reel seat broke off, but landed to the delight off my cousen. Tasted better there than I remember Mulloway here.

Obviously was stoked as I was only trying to catch Elf (tailor).

Trout season

Anyone have any info on where they were released this year?

fishing carts

I made this cart this arvo out of an old golf buggy. plenty of room for all the gear. i'm yet to test it but I have put dual wheels on it to prevent it sinking in the sand. does any one else have one or have any good mods for one? all ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Ningaloo Gear

No much happening on here at the moment so i thought i would post a few pics of SOME of the gear i am taking to Ningaloo Station at the end of the week for a 2 week trip.

Should be enough to keep me ammused for a few weeks any way.

Cheers Jayce

Cray Season 2014/15

Had confirmation from fisheries today that the season will start on October 15th again this year.

Giant trevally

Seen some pictures of these caught land based off the beach. Can they be in metro or are they only up north in the pilbara? If u can catch them metro or under 2 hours north or south what bait, rigs, time, tides etc. are best?

Salmon schools

Hi everyone, I know prime salmon time is about half a year away still but I want to be ready to go when it comes.  My question is how do you find schools of salmon? Do you drive on coastal roads from perth to south until you see one? Is there any tricks to finding them?
