Black Pete Dillfish Mirror teaser.
There's no doubting the effectiveness of mirror teasers in attracting billfish/YFT/Mackerel/wahoo etc to a lure spread, and while there are numerous mirror teasers on the market, one of the very best is the Black Pete Dillfish teaser. Nose-weighted to keep its head down at high speeds (it therefore sinks at rest), the overall colour scheme of the Dillfish teaser is day-glo orange and white, which combines with those highly reflective mirrored surfaces to throw out heaps of fish-attracting flash. The mirrors on Dillfish teasers are fixed with stainless screws and siliconed in place to prevent saltwater intrusion underneath - a major problem with other mirror teasers where the silver backing corrodes and the teaser loses its all important flash after just a few trips offshore.
We stock the medium size version which is the most popular size (same size as the witchdoctor)
Fishwrecked Special $ with free rigging and done properly by us.

Black Pete Surface Teasers
For the members heading north to target Sailfish & Marlin we have also just received our Black Pete surface squid teasers. We fully rig them FREE of charge and done properly.

Reliable Momoi trace line and quality hardware are also used. These lures represent handmade quality, swim well, good colour & model selection and more importantly they catch fish worldwide. Dolphinfish, stripey & bluefin tuna, big eye & YFT tuna, wahoo & macs or the stick face billfish........we have a Richter lure to suit.
** Our range includes the New UV Blue colour and the 2 new models in Holy Gates & the Soft Oscar XL **

After a Lemax ProTiny what shops have the best prices?
Submitted by langerz on Wed, 2011-04-20 15:54Hi guys,
Went to Anglers Spot today and saw the Lemax Pro Tiny 6'+ which was priced at $122.00 would I be able to find these any cheaper? Was also recommended the Aijiking reel which definitely looked the part was around the $80 mark. If I could get a good softplastics combo for around $180 I would be a happy man. What shop has the best prices?
Cheers,

Eco Beach & Broome
Submitted by Pezdog on Wed, 2011-04-20 14:55Hi All
Heading up to Eco beach and Broome (5 days each) on Friday. Just wondering if anyone has any info on best tides to fish landbased?
Also any areas firing at the moment worth a crack at?
Have already had some good help from few FW members but any locals or others that have been fishing recently either Eco or Broome or Jacks Creek that can shed some light on best times and also best lures that would be great.
Getting pretty pumped up and hopefully can get onto some good fish.
Cheers

Jurien Bay for Easter
Submitted by r.gates on Wed, 2011-04-20 12:39Hi all
Team gates is heading up to Jurien Bay tomorrow for 5 days and the weather forecast isn't looking too flash for fishing out wide.
As we've not been there before, was looking for some guidance from seasoned Jurien bayers on what to expect with the current weather conditions?
Friday looks the best day, but I've been told that it gets quite windy up there and you don't want to be out on the water when it comes up....pretty normal for most places really, but I'd rather err on the side of caution for our first trip there.
I'd rather fish from the beach than risk going out if the conditions aren't any good, but was also wondering whether there's shelter within the bay or close inshore for some light tackle boat fishing....if so, what's the target species...herring, whiting, skippy, tailor, etc...all good stuff in my book.
Thanks in advance of your comments.
regards
r.gates...
EG 880
PS. if there's any other FW members up there, hope we bump into each other...will be good to put a face to the names!
Have a safe and enjoyable Easter

reel advice
Submitted by jack93 on Tue, 2011-04-19 22:39just purchased a daiwa sensor surf of a fellow fishwrecked member !
the rod model is 20lb-40lb, 3-6oz cast weight and 11'6 Overhead. i was hoping to use this for swan river mulloway and snapper at north mole ect as well as the odd medium sized shark ....
origanally i was going to put a penn torque 200 on the rod but since they have gone off special i wont be purchasing one !
the range i am looking to spend is between 250 and $450. looking for something with a reasonable line compasity, the reel will have 30-50lb braid with mono topshot about 120m or so.
also i have had a look at the saltiga surfs and i do like them, but any other suggestions are good !
any suggestions would be sweet and greatly appreciated!

Boating - Trolling
Submitted by DieHard on Tue, 2011-04-19 22:25Heyy alll
have recently got the boat fixed up and tested it today, and no leaks, will be giving it a proper run tomorrow... if all is good we will be trolling between Ocean Reef and Mindare, Possible to hillarys.
THing is i know nothing about trolling, apart from the basics... with SBT and some mackies still around i want to give it a shot! but dont know where to start...
what depth around?
what speed(Km/h)?
what lures?
i have 3 lures that i have found, x2skirts x1 Hardy
the hardy is around 13cm and a mulie pattern blue, make is pretty sure 'Storm'...
the skirts are from south africa; but the dark purlpe pink one is suited for tuna and has a flat head as big as a 5c coin...
the second skirt is a lumo green one, exept its head has holes in it... is it a jet head?
both skirts are around 7-8inches...
Cheers all!

abrolhos info
Submitted by Luke R on Tue, 2011-04-19 22:14Hey all
Well it was a very last minute decision to leave thursday night fish for 3 days and come back sunday night. Now i have never been to the islands and really don't know what to expect. We plan to do a fair bit of light jigging but i also know they catch plenty of BIG wahoo which is deffinatly on the to do list. We are planning on staying on the boat for 2-3 nights, anybody know of some safe anchorages?
Also is it worth bringing a slightly heavier casting outfit say PE6ish?
How far from mainland in the islands?
is it best to head north looking for ground or head south?
If anybody can give me a few pointers that would be greatly appreciated.

Finally landed my first tuna.
Submitted by jeremy-j on Tue, 2011-04-19 15:40Last week i was luckily enough to be able to have a week off work and even luckier to spend my time at Eco Beach realxing, eating, Drinking and fishing land based and out of barraddict with Kurt.
We ended up with a heap of fish and i will post a report with pictures but i wanted to share my first tuna.
I landed this one on a Daiwa Certate 3000 loaded with varivas 20lb, a Lemax Black Rose and a Maria Bullchop. Litte can i say it was an epic sight seeing the surface strike and then having the pleasure to walk around the boat, get around the 4 or so grey suits awaiting an easy meal and get it in the boat. As you can see by my facials it gave me hell both in and out of the water.

HRT Small Fry - new colours in for the long w/e breamers
Submitted by Ben Derecki on Mon, 2011-04-18 16:13Got a few new colours in for anyone interested in hitting the rivers over the long(er) weekend.
As mentioned previously the lures are all tank tested and have VMC rings and trebles. The lures are fishing well for a good mix of salt and fresh water fish - bream and flatties love them as do callop and trout.
The Small Fry are 40mm long, 3g and dive 1-2m. RRP is $12.95, but $9.00 (30% off) for FW members.
Pickup can be arranged or $2.50 for postage anywhere in Australia (not in WA tackle stores at the moment). PM me for more info.
