The Esca have been proven around the world and we have been asked for them before also but now after using them both with bait/patternoster rig setup and jigs we're impressed. They have a soft fade light and soft blink light so not intrusive and very stream line so perfect for bait rigs or jigs!!!!

We've used the Esca fading blue and the Esca blinking blue in the Super Deep and couldnt see a difference between the two but they work. Heh guys,

Off to buy PFD at Whitworths tomorrow for when out on boat, but not sure to go manual or automatic type or which brand.

Automatic seem to make sense, except for my concern of the boat capsizing and I am trapped underneath and unable to swim out due to the automatic inflating.

mplaning on going fishing tomorrow night at the e-shed?? What being caught there as planing on getting there around 5   

Plus I haven't been there for a while so where is the best spot to catch something near the marine museum please advise!!!!

After finding the short comings of my Furuno GP7000F chartplotter I'm considering investing in a HDS 7 or 9 touch with an airmar TM260 1kw transducer.

Whitworths is my normal shop of choice for everything, but they dont seem to stock the TM260 anymore. So question wise I ask;

1) Wheres the best place to get one in perth (with the lowrance plug) - I'm open to postage as a second option but would want it all installed and on water before our labour day weekend trip to Jurien

2) I'd be keen to keep the Furuno unit with the P66 transducer - Is this likely to cause any issues running at the same time as the TM260? I'd be keen to not leave extra screw holes in the hull and mount the TM260 on the port side leaving P66 on the starboard side.

3) Anyone know if out of the box the HDS 7 touch comes with the structure scan transducer?

Anyone chaseing some good quality but cheaply priced filleting knives should go check out the range at MBL on Bannister road in Canning Vale they have Swibo,Dexter Russel,Fox and a range of others at half the price you would find at other stores and if you have a account with them you get a further discount.I saw a 8' Swibo advertised at another store last week for $78 and at MBL the same knife was $26 I have since bought a few extra knives for bait knives and a couple more to go in the new knife roll.

You might even come out with a soft serve machine I know my daughter was keen on me buying one but I dont know how I would explain that one to the wife

went out this morning, no trolling frigging weed everywhere,24.4 temp a few birds,baitfish and tuna around, put the pick down and ended up with 6 skippy, 2 nice harliquinn fish, 2 bonito on floaters and 3 sharks all released, the crewie contributed 1 skippy, back out after the weekend I hope

Gidday all a mate got this in 200m any ideas? Its about the size of a 6kg salmon similar in body to and apparently the meat is red too its dorsals are like a jobfish

 I'm heading down to mandurah for the weekend and I've never been there before. I'm taking the crab nets, surf and flick rods. I have access to a tinny for crabbing/fishing the river/estuary, but looking to soak a bait on the beach at night as well. Just wondering if anyone could help me out where would be the best bet to drop the nets and what beaches are worth fishing. Any help would be great.

There is no better feeling than when you take out people dearest to you and they catch fish. Especially when you stumble on memorable fish. Worth all the extra lead up time and effort that at the time drives you crazy because your used to doing things quickly and efficiently with the lads but somehow way more enjoyable even though you may not have wet a line.

Well, the Federal Liberal Party float an idea where we stop giving $800 million taxpayers money to overseas countries, and spend this money in Australia.  They reckon we could have better hospitals, education and infrastructure in the Northern cities, ie. Darwin, Cairns, Karratha!!!

Good old failure party  (Labor / Greens) dont like the idea.  Give all our money away.  Fuck the poor bastards in Qld who got flooded, we will just have another "one off" flood levy, on the Aussie workers and end up blowing it on admin costs and incompetence.

 hey guys. just bought a shimano sahara graphite rod. i have never used a graphite rod but i have heard people taking about them. i used it last night amd the fight feels a hell of a lot different the a fiberglass rod. can anyone explain the advantages of graphite over fiberglass???

Just bought a Daiwa Saltist 6500h and looking to match it up with a 8-9ft spin rod for metal slices etc from anywhere between 60g - 150gms

can anybody recommend anything? (will be used in quobba/exmouth/local metro)

Price range isnt too much of an issue, just nothing too pricey ($800 etc)

went fishing last night at ammo jetty the wind was going off its titt's waste of time really caught nothing apart from 4 baby skippy and 5 baby pink snapper's and I means baby like 4 inch's long of course they went back

I just snapped my good fishing rod :( I am heading out deep sea fishing and am in need of a boat road about 7"0 that can handle 15kg's on the end of it. I will be putting a Flueger Salt reel on it.

Just after some help and info in regards to fishing the Murray between Mannum and Swan Reach (possibly further up river a little) on what gear to take/use there? What sort of fish I'm likely to encounter? And also lures/sp to use?

First time to SA hence all the questions, and will be on the river for a week solid of wakeboading/skiing but very keen to have a fish while I'm there. Currently have a pfluger trion 7ft 2-4kg rod matched to a 2500 Ci4 stradic (4lb bite motion braid) if that will suffice?

Any help or info will be greatly appreciated!

Got ahold of the new fishing rules pamphlet and have a query that someone hopefully can answer.

Reading from the book:

Dhufish 1 per licensed angler max 2 per boat in West Coast Bioregion.  No probs there.

Pink Snapper 2 per licensed angler in West Coast Bioregion. No probs there.

Breaksea Cod 2 per licensed angler in West Coast Bioregion. No probs there.

Now if I take 3 licensed anglers out and we have a killer day, I take it we can take 2 dhufish and say 4 pink snapper or 4 breaksea.  All in all nobody exceeds the 2 mixed species daily bag limit. 

However what if you can take 5 people out fishing.  Does that mean 2 dhuies and 8 pinkies or 8 breaksea?  Again nobody exceeds their daily mixed species limit. I cant see any other boat limit on the amount of demersal fish you can take. Is this correct?
