wasp bags failing
Submitted by fishRamma on Thu, 2013-01-17 09:48Just a heads up
There is a coloured bag being sold on the market which comes in various colours which has been failing.
It has been worked out if the bag owner puts the bag into full sun in high temperatures and has had all the air removed it then swells (expands) in the heat.
If placed in water by accident it cools rapidly and sucks water into the bag as these do not have a proper seal they are just a folded over lip.Valuables such as mobiles and electronic equipment is at risk of damage.

Didnt know Clarkey was a fighting man but I am sure I have now seen his double.

BBQ's
Submitted by roganjosh on Tue, 2013-01-15 16:55Hi Guys,
Just wondering, I am in the market for a new BBQ. Got a bit of a project happening and going to put a inbuilt one in.
I am wondering what you use the most. the hotplate or the grill.
i am picking between 2 bbq's. 1 with all hotplate and the other hotplate and grill. I understand that the second is the best of both worlds, but unless you use the grill it can be a bit of a waste.

Famous Shark and Kayak photo
Submitted by beau on Tue, 2013-01-15 06:28We've all seen the photo, and we've all questioned its legitimacy. Heres the "true" story from the photographer. What do you guys reckon now? The site/story sounds legit. I'll admit I thought it was a fake until I read the story.. http://www.thomaspeschak.com/kayak-great-white-sharks-/

Matching a Stella 4k
Submitted by Bodie on Thu, 2013-01-10 08:37Just ordered myself a new Stella 4000SW and looking for a rod to match it with, anyone have any suggestions.
Plan on spooling it with 30LB braid and will be used as a lighter jigging and plastics rod for Perth, and a shallower water plastic combo for Exmouth
Am chasing a rod with a bit of bend and feel, nothing too stiff
2 rods im looking at so far are
Daiwa Catalina J57S Jig 3/4.
Daiwa Saltiga Coastal SG62S PE 2-3 or SG60S PE 3-4. I have a Saltiga coastal SG57S matched to a Stella 8k and is by far the best combo I've owned, couple pics below. PE 5 and locked drag....
Anyone have any other suggestions?? price isnt a factor.
Cheers

2013 Marron season open
Submitted by bod on Wed, 2013-01-09 09:19The marron season opened at midday yesterday, Tuesday 8 January 2013 and will run until midday on 5 February 2013.
Department of Fisheries Manager for the Southwest Bioregion Tim Nicholas says marron populations have shrunk over recent decades, mostly because of low rainfall, reduced river flow and increasing salinity.
“Therefore fishers are reminded that they must adhere to the bag and size limits, this will help to keep marron populations sustainable,” Mr Nicholas said.
For the upcoming season the daily bag limit is eight marron per licensed fisher and the possession limit is 16 marron in non-trophy waters.
Trophy waters can be found in the waters of, and within 500 metres of the waterline of Harvey Dam, Waroona Dam (and its tributaries) and the Hutt River, north of Geraldton.
A marron must have a carapace length of at least 80 mm before you can keep it.
Different marron fishing rules apply to trophy waters; in these waters there is a combined daily bag and possession limit of five marron per licensed fisher and a marron must have a carapace length of a least 90 millimetres before you can keep it.
A licence is required for recreational marron fishing.
To find out more about the marron fishing rules, including legal fishing gear and specific types of marron waters or to buy your licence online, go to the Department of Fisheries website at www.fish.wa.gov.au.
You can also buy your licence at Australia Post outlets or Fisheries offices.
