Thanks Whitey (seasport Charters )
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Thu, 2012-10-04 19:42THanks for the great day out on the water.
A mate that came out with us had a ball catching the big stuff after only fishing from jetties.
As seen on Knot Big Enoughs post the fish were of a good size.'
We ended up with 2 bauldies, 4 good pinkies, 1 breaksea 1 dhuie and a couple of sambo's.(yes they do get eaten
)along with several legal size fish released
Whitey and crew did a great job out there and i will certainly be booking another trip out in the near future (well after the ban has lifted anyway )
Thanks again Russ Sandy Brenden and the newby to boat fishing Chad.
See you again out there

What did your last vehicle service cost?
Submitted by r.gates on Fri, 2012-09-28 21:25Hi all
Yesterday my Navara had its 40,000km service at the local Nissan dealer. Apparently, this is a 'major service' and it did include changing the LSD oil, transfer case oil, engine oil, assorted filters, etc. and lots of 'inspect this' and 'inspect that'.
The bill came to $954.65 (incl. GST). I can't say I was expecting anything close to that but if that's what they charge, what can you do?
Today I received a courtesy call from the dealer asking me if i was happy with the service that was done on my Navara. I queried the amount of the bill and was again told that it was a 'major service', so then I enquired as to their hourly labour charge. Anyone want to guess what they charge...how about $137.50 per hour! Apparently, that price is set by Nissan Australia, not the dealer. I reckon the mechanic would be lucky to see a quarter of this amount.
Haven't decided where I'll go for its 50,000km service....any suggestions???
So, what do you drive, what did your last vehicle service cost and who carried out the service?
regards
rusty...

West coast memberships
Submitted by Bodie on Fri, 2012-09-28 10:22Many people on here got WCE memberships?
I've been an 'In the wings member' for 6 years now, waiting my time to get a full membership.
Received an email this morning from west coast eagles, paragraoh below.
" In 2012, the loyalty of in the wings members was once again demonstrated with a 90% renewal rate. This, combined with a renewal rate of 97% among our season members, has meant very little movement on the waiting list, with the majority of 'In the wings' members not expected to receive a seat offer until the new stadiu, is completed in 2018"
Thats 6 years away, which means i would have been waiting 12 years to get a membership....I dont know of any other football club or for that matter a sporting club that has a 12 year waiting list to become a member... its almost as long as the MCC membership waiting list!
As an 'In the wings member' your able to purchase 'resale' tickets from members who are not going to some some of the home games. Paragraph below
" This year, the seat resale program has allowed members to access the seaons most anticipated clashes, with two matches selling out of resale tickets this season. If you were not successful in obtaining tickets through the seat resale program in 2012, please contact membership staff"
I tried all season to get 2 tickets together for me and the missus, unsuccessful everytime. Could always buy one on its own, but not 2.
Think the only way to get a full membership these days is if you have a family member, or know someone who works or plays at the eagles you can jump the queue....
Anyone else an in the wings member and been waiting longer than the 6 years i have? im still number 2,400 or something in the list!
Well thats my Friday rant!

DIY Reel Maintenance
Submitted by JohnF on Wed, 2012-09-26 11:23Righto, have a Stella 10,000 I want to fully service myself, but before I take it apart, decided I would start on a cheapie, so an old Daiwa Tierra 4000 that was a bit rough and noisy after one too many Amberjacks was the patient......
So, pulled apart, and all bearings and gears look and feel OK.....I thought there may have been a few gear teeth missing by how rough the reel was......hmmmm. Will clean and thoroughly inspect tonite.
Anyhoo, my quesion is, do you lightly oil, lightly grease or just clean and re-assemble the anti-reverse roller bearing........it looks very clean and I would have thought grease could cock up the function of the anti reverse.

car gps need a new one
Submitted by chookc on Wed, 2012-09-26 06:37Guys not quite fishing related but in the market for a new gps for the car. Had an older navman but it always gave me the shits as it would always take you the long way or in some cses the wrong way.
After something with a bigger screen and easy to use. And something that can have the maps updated. Oh and one that knows left from right.. biggest bug bare of the old one.
