Is this misleading? http://fishwrecked.com/forum/atomix-60ht
Submitted by Lastlightmike on Tue, 2015-09-29 16:34I believe Rainier Best is the The General Manager for HITECH MARINE, but Pauline who obviously works there seems to have no idea. I'm under the impression that she thinks he's a customer. Does anyone find this exchange troubling? Read this short thread.

saw one at Mandurah boat show couple of years ago. Terrible transom design for fishing and no deck room, you wouldn't expect any support from manufacturer if you had any problem's with it

Dont touch them.. 2 mates imported two from China via some website.. only good thing about them is the 150 yam 4 strokes.. terrible layout, has a big "veranda" off the cabin which encroaches into the deck space... if your 6 foot tall you will be banging your head on it. all deck fittings and screws are rusty, wiring all replaced after 2 years.. from memory paid about 32 K each landed.. the bloke selling has most likely done the same and trying to make an easy dollar.
cheers

Fittings are generally non-stainless hence the rusty screws etc. on some of the cheaper models coming out of China. By the time you replaced them all with stainless you may have well bought a more decent boat in the first place.
probably cheap wiring too!!

Gee, I rarely comment on these sites 'cause they can get a little emotional but you've got me going with this one. I purchased an Atomix 600 Centre Console from Hi Tech Marine in Perth late last year (they are the national distributers now)... absolutely fantastic boat. 10 years hull warranty, 2 years on the trailer and 5 on the Merc 150 4 stroke. Fittings are 316 stainless and I haven't had a drama. The hull is made using a technique called resin infusion which allows the hull to have great strength and weighs in lighter than all the competitors I researched. This also allows Atomix to use absolutely no wood in their boat at all. I mainly purchased the boat because my mechanics father purchased a hard top at last years Mandurah Boat Show from Hi Tech and he raves about the thing... for your info MartyG the clearance from floor to under the HT is 191cm (bit bigger than 6 foot mate) directly through the skippers position. No issues with wiring etc, Hi Tech completely rig the boat in Perth with all wiring, harnesses, controls, cables and accessories. I paid $54k with duel batteries, Vessel View, NSS7 Simrad, Simrad VHF and Alpine stereo.. Absolutely rapped with the product and would recommend this boat to anyone who is serious about mid size boating. Oh, just a PS.... the Atomix 600 and 560 series meet and/or exceed the Australian Standard AS1799-1, ISO12217-1 and 94/25CE.... wonder how many others meet these standards?

Hi Rainier,
Thanks for the positive feedback.
It’s good to know your enjoying your Atomix boat, that’s the kind of news we want to hear!
We have some exciting news for you. I know you were after more storage on your 600 Atomix.
I have just heard back from NZ they have made a 2 tier Side pocket attachment For each side, and an optional clip in Seat Box with a hatch that lifts up for additional storage/fridges ect.
These can actually clip into your existing model boat and gives you loads of storage and 2 extra comfy seats.
We also have some other exciting clip-in accessories coming.
These can turn your Atomix into either a Fishing Boat with plenty of room to stand one day and a Cruising boat seating 6 people on the deck.
Please also remember you have the Hitech/Mercury Service discount on your first service due soon.
Call me to arrange booking 9309 2888.
Take Care

State of business
Submitted by sea-kem on Fri, 2015-09-25 09:34Just wondering how everyone is travelling business and work wise at the moment after the start of the year when it all went to shit. We have actually picked up immmensely and are flat out, I'm actually considering taking on an apprentice, maybe someone a little older. Have picked up two new clients and one has the contract for all the Coles maintenence around town. The oil and gas side of things is still just a trickle but the completeions side of things are busy so that's keeping us busy on that side of things. So how are the rest of you fairing?

Cooler Bag - Product Review
Submitted by JohnF on Fri, 2015-09-25 09:30After getting in a bit late on Wednesday night and not looking forward to cleaning the fish, we left them in the shed in the MadFish cooler bag with 2 bags of ice.
24 hours later, most of the ice still there, fish perfect for filleting.
Great product.

adam goodes retires
Submitted by petermac on Mon, 2015-09-21 21:33Adam Goodes I really wish he hadn't started diving in the last 2 years of his stellar career , personaly I think he was right in pointing out he was racially vilified by a girl . However it wasn't that led to the booing it was his diving for free kicks that caused it .
Adam would not have coped if he played 25 years ago , I heard jimmy and phil krackour copping far worse than adam ever got and yet they coped not saying it was right but they managed , Maurice Rioli was never booed by opposition supporters the actually politely clapped his efforts , why because he never took a dive

Monkey Mia
Submitted by jng on Mon, 2015-09-21 19:55Hey guys,
Will be heading up the denham over the 2nd week of school holidays and its my first time up there so just after some general info on whats are the things to watch out for regarding weather. I will be taking a 7.5m boat up. Have done some research and most says its not the best time of the year weather wise, (not leaving the boat behind)
Just after some general info regarding things to look out for when the winds are up etc
Planning to do most of the fishing out of monkey mia ive done some research and some guys are saying its more sheltered on the monkey mia side? can some one confirm this? as i will be taking up my little 3year boy and the missus.
Which side do guys prefer to fish monkey mia or denham ie wind directions etc. obviously if its to windy the boat stays on the land.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
TIA Justin

Aluminium Fabricator required.
Submitted by Wes F on Mon, 2015-09-21 11:47Can some one please help me out. I wanting to make a storage compartment for the back of my 4WD. Fairly simple design. Top will be 1080mm (D)x 1380mm (W) O/A made in 2 havles for easy removal, locked down with recessed latches. Base will be 950mm (D) x 1010mm (W) with a centre partion. Frame 20 x 20 tube, top sheeted with 5mm and base sheeted with 3mm. I have full drawings and dimensions of components. I'm more than capable of fabricating this with a bit of assistance obtaining the material and with welding as i do not have access to a aluminium welder. All expenses will be paid for. I'll be back in Perth 6th October would be great if could sort something out between now and than. Cheers Wes.

Deck wash cuts out
Submitted by jng on Fri, 2015-09-18 05:52hey guys
as as the title says, my jabsco hotshot 6.0 has been playing up lately. It will run for couple of minutes and then cut out, I'll let it rest for a few minutes and then it will start again. Is there an internal overload on these motor/pumps?
Anyone had had a similar issue? I've tested the pressure switch and it tested fine.
Cheers justin

Any bricklayers or pavers on here?
Submitted by scano on Mon, 2015-09-14 18:41Hi all
Chasing the info of someone north of the river to do a small brick paving job in beechboro. Got about 6-7 sq metres I need paved. Have the bricks ready to go, really just need the labour and expertise to complete the works.
also whilst I am asking the question on tradesman and bricks. Anyone know of q brickie who is good at building wood fired pizza ovens? In the process of organising the bricks, thermal blanket, render ect. Again just chasing some contact info if anyone has had one built on their behalf before? Planning on laying the concrete slab myself as well as the brick base, the pizza oven is to go side by side with a wood / coal BBQ outside in the backyard.
any recommendations on the above would be appreciated
cheers

One for the auto-marine sparky/ safety gurus out there: Using a jump starter battery pack to start outboard?
Submitted by Quobbarockhopper on Fri, 2015-09-11 07:23Hi all
I usually carry a 12V/ 17 amp hours 900 amp battery jump starter pack in the boat as a safety measure in case I have issues with my dual batteries, and have been thinking about the actual usefulness of it lately as I haven’t had the need to use it as yet, touch wood.
The main questions/ concerns I have are:
- Would this model pack have enough “kick”to start my Yammy 150 if the other batteries did die for some reason?
- If I did have to use it, should I connect it to the battery itself or unhook the batteries and attach the alligator clips straight to the battery leads?
- Is there any potential for doing damage (major or minor) to the outboard (fuses/ computer etc) if I were to use the pack?
- If not enough power to start the outboard, I assume it would still give me enough charge to make radio calls to other boats/ sea rescue etc? Would obviously turn off all other electrics- sounders, gps etc before trying this
Thanks in advance for any answers you guys can give

Drone in Cockburn Sound
Submitted by Dreamcatcher on Wed, 2015-09-09 23:01Fellow Fisho's. I witnessed one of those professional type 8 prop drones plunge into the drink just off the car park area at Woodman Point this afternoon, about 1:30pm Wed 9th Sept. We asked a jet ski owner to have a look but he could not find anything. The electronics and camera will be wrecked but the owner is pretty keen to get it back and salvage what he can. If anyone drags it up on a squid jig or snapper line can you please drop it off with the Cockburn Sea Rescue guys as they have the owners contact details. Thanks

$800 to service 3 saltigas ouch. whats your opinion
Submitted by bailey024 on Tue, 2015-09-08 03:21Ive just had a z6500 saltiga, a 5500 saltiga and a 6500 saltiga in for what i thought would be a nice service but turned into needing full rebuilds on all three reels. My thought is why the f#@k am i spending big dollars on reels for them to need full rebuilds after they get a few fish i thought thats why we spend $1200 on a reel so we dont have to spend again,I can understand the z6500 getting rebuilt because its 8yrs old and it has caught alot of good fish compaired to the other 2 that are 2 and 3 yrs old and barely see the water as much as they should. To say the least i am very pissed off and starting to think i should have stuck with my stellas. Whats your opinion should i have the shits or is this exceptible from a saltiga because im starting to think it might be if all three needed the samethings replaced.
