Removing GPS Data from Photos
Submitted by catch.fish on Tue, 2013-06-18 10:16Hey guys thought I would put up a quick guide on how to easily remove any hidden EXIF data from your photos before uploading so you dont have to worry about accidentally posting GPS points and other info that can be hidden within your images!!
Windows has a built in feature to easily remove all EXIF data while MAC users will need to download some free software to remove the data.
For PC:
1.
Browse to the folder that holds the images you would like to remove the data for and select the photos. If you have a lot of photos in the folder and would like to select them all easily you can hold Ctrl on the keyboard and press A to quickly select all files in the folder. If you want to just select particular files you can hold Ctrl and click on each image you want to select. You can also drag a box around them with your mouse any method is fine so long as you're happy that all the photos you want to modify are highlighted.
2.
Once you are happy you have selected the photos you would like to remove the data from simply right click on one of the photos and select 'Properties' which should be the last option on the menu that pops up when you right click.
At this stage your screen should look something like this:

3.
After clicking 'Properties' you should have a box pop up with several tabs accross the top, you will be on the General tab. What you want to do is click the 'Details' tab and you should see a screen like this listing all the hidden EXIF data on those images:

At the very bottom of the box you can see there's an option in blue to 'Remove properties and personal information'. Click on this and you should get another box that opens looking like this:

From here you have a few options on how to remove the data. You can leave it on the initial setting of 'Create a Copy with all possible Properties removed' and click Ok which will make copies of all the photos in the same folder with no hidden data or you can select 'Remove the following Properties from this File' which will allow you to scroll through the info and remove just certain fields.
I find the cleanest way is to select 'Remove the following Properties from this File' and then choose 'Select All' in the bottom right corner before clicking 'Ok'. This will remove all hidden info without creating copies of the photos so you're not ending up with doubles of all photos which also removes the risk of accidentally uploading the original images instead of the copy.
And that's it, you're done! You can double check it worked by selecting the 'Properties' of one of the photos, selecting the 'Details' tab and scrolling through the list of info there to make sure the data has been removed.
For MAC users:
Mac users will need to use some software to remove the data, I have found that ImageOptim is a really simple tool to achieve this and is free software. It also has the added benefit of reducing the file size ready for upload to the internet all in one easy hit.
Just head to imageoptim.com/ and select download. Install and run the program.
To use it all you need to do is drag the photos that you want to remove the EXIF data from into the box and ImageOptim will take care of removing the hidden data and compressing the file size.
The process should look something like this:

Submitted by petermac on Mon, 2013-06-17 22:13I played footy for the now not so mighty Melbourne football club I love the club but why did it take so long to give neld the sack ???? more hand outs from the AFL required???? I don't think so they need to grow some balls and get a good president and coach they should give neil craig a go or go after woosha or any one with balls and isn't going keep feeding the players on their mummys milk sorry about the vent

opinions would be appreciated
Submitted by petermac on Mon, 2013-06-17 19:34my new boat is a stacer northen fisher where the hull joins the gunnel it is not fully seam welded what they do is run a weld for 200mm then leave a section 150mm unwelded then they run another 200mm weld this continues all the was around the boat .My mate who is a high end welding inspector was looking at it on the weekend and tells me to avoid long term grief I should seal the gaps that arnt welded with something like sika flex . I would have thought a good hose down after a trip would solve any future corrosion problems in those spots. Thanks in advance your comments

Cape Leveque Help-Tips/Hints???
Submitted by Fisher Kid on Mon, 2013-06-17 19:09Im going up to cape Leveque for a couple weeks this holidays, taking a stacer tinny up, gonna hit up the mackies and bait schools. With a bit of light shore action aswell. And possibly some trolling for some sails, if we get one were in for some fun in a 4m tinny.
Any tips or info? Ive never been up there before, got the trolling down pat, but any tips for catching queenies would be greatly appreciated, as we wanna hit up some big un's.
This will be my first opportunity to get my first mack, and my first tuna.
Any help greatly appreciated, I will be posting a long report with pics and maybe some vids when we get back. Im so pumped, ive already watched and read almost everything I can find on Cape Leveque, but there's surprisingly little.

Snapper combo
Submitted by jack93 on Mon, 2013-06-17 16:48Hey guys any suggestions on snapper combo for around $400-600? Using it for Cockburn sound ! Any suggestions on what you think is good or what you likewould be appreciated ( bait runner or no bait runner mono or braid line class etc) I will mainly use it with bait but wouldn't mind flicking a plastic around every now and then. Currently I am using a ugly stick gold 10-15kg and a penn live liner ( it's a cheap combo for the tinnie as it doesn't matter if it gets wet) and 20lb mono.

Pacemaker molds
Submitted by Vin on Mon, 2013-06-17 09:26Hi All,
Can anyone help me in chasing down who has the old Pacemaker molds these days?
GKS has the 17 footer but I'm really keen to find the bigger ones:
18'trendsetter, 20'vagabond, 21'ranger. Nothing rides quite as good with the same amount of bow flair for keeping dry!

Cockburn Snapper
Submitted by jakub_87 on Sun, 2013-06-16 23:44Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster.
So after years of land based fishing we have finally brought a boat. Fraser 5.2, shes nothing fancy but will more then do the job!
Have taken her out a few times with mixed results, even got an undersize duey (released ofcourse) but as we are amatuers its very hit / miss.
What i am pretty keen on is gettting into some of the Snapper in cockburn sound, but to be honest i dont know where to start?
Im not asking for any co-ords here or anything, but what is the best way to go about this?
I understand that burley is essential and that timing is important, but from there???
Any advice would be much appreciated!

North Lefroy Bay
Submitted by ctan1968 on Sun, 2013-06-16 20:14Hello all,
I am helping out a mate who is going up to NLB in 3 weeks time. He asked if I could post asking for any heads up to the fishing.
He has a small 12 ft tinny.
Just wondering if the inside of the reef is like Exmouth where snapper are quite prolific. Is the reef gap very far from shore?
Thanks in advance.

magnesium reels
Submitted by new age on Sun, 2013-06-16 19:21Has any one had any trouble with magnesium spin reels? Ive heard some blokes dont wash them with water they use salt away? To my mind i think it just depends on what sort of anti corrosion treatment they use on the magnesium but just keen to hear what you blokes reckon?

Golden Ponds
Submitted by catchalittle on Sun, 2013-06-16 17:03After a bit of nagging from the wife took the kids down to golden ponds today boy things have changed down there $10 entry for adults even if you dont fish and $5 for kids not that the kids were intending on keeping any fish but was advised that it was $20 per kilo if you wanted to keep any fish (wtf) the kids did catch a couple of small trout the ponds themselves were pretty murky and one looked like a slime pit.
Last time we were down there we did end up buying a bit of fruit and veg but I was too afraid to ask what their price increase was for them wont be going back there again they charge like a wounded bull would have been cheaper to have taken the boat out
First Fish in a While
Submitted by fisho-ron on Sun, 2013-06-16 16:13With my new job being a 4&1 roster there hasnt been alot of time for fishing, on the week off its been crap!!
so i made a late call thursday to take of to Jurien for a couple of days with my 2 boys Troy & Blake,
quick ring around and had us a nice little duplex to rent for $100p/n,so pack the boat and where gone 3am friday morn.
Straight to the ramp and heading out on first light.
we decided to hit up the wrecks first for some much missed Jigging action.........
first drop were all on, you name it, all the usals are there and their hungry!!!
plenty of sambos, ambers and some pinkys coming from there, jigging bug well and truly scatched.
also forgot to take pics of the amber for the board...DOH
my big mulla at 119cm, going into the record board!!
time to head out deeper and chase the good stuff!
again the fish were on the chew with non stop action, we would of bagged out easily by 9am, but because of the action
most size fish were released chasing bigger!!
Biggest Dhu for Friday going to me @ 84cm
we fished all day to make the fishing time worth while, even to the stage of 60cm Baldys being returned, i thought the day was unreal and couldnt get much better????????
well it did!!
Saturday morn were out on first light again, the plan was to head in the oppersit dirrection and start at the 40-50's, again the fish were on the chew but smaller.
still bagged out easily by 10am, we continued releasing fish chasing bigger and more time on the water.
thought i had made a bad move because it went quiet for a couple of hours and it looked like we were going home with 3 fish at 1pm.
the boys were hounding me to go to the fads...joys of being skipper, i pulled rank and went my way...lol...suckers!!
i think they will agree it was a good move, found some ground and it went off for the next 2 hours.
Pinkys, baldys, dhuys, redthroats, huge skippy all coming over the side on jigs and bait with bait doing 90%of the damage.
we all lost a good fish each with me calling mine for a horse dhuy, seen colour and it was looking BIG!!! and then the hooks pulled&%#$(*&^% i said.
then troy loads up with another good fish, calling it for a big dhuy.....so be it!!
went 104cm and 18kg on some dodgy sacles, no where near as fat as his other one from a while back.
blake got into the biggest pinks going 65cm and he also got dragged by a so called shark for 20mins...lol
his biggest skippy for the day @ 55cm
a differant view of my mulla, you can do some great things with the iphones.
all in all what a great 2 days fishing with my boys, well and truly worth the wait.
now to do it all again in 4 weeks???
cheers ron

Couple of Pics from Friday and Saturday
Submitted by kelsea on Sun, 2013-06-16 08:30Punched out on Friday on my mates boat through wind chop to be out in the 40 metre mark. We tryed drifting but were moving over the ground far to quickly. My mate took one for the team nad did his utmost to hold me over the ground. What a champion bloke he is as I hooked up and landed my PB baldie. I didn't weigh it but it came in at 60cm. We moved on to another hole and I caught a 52cm Dhuie. The days catch ended up being a sambo, black arse, 2 skippy, flathead, baldie and a dhuie.
I went out the next day with the wife and sister in laws partner. The weather wa a bit better but the sounder wsn't working. Went to my honey hole and landed a 70cm 6.2kg Dhuie. None of the pics do any of the fish justice. We neded up catching 7 dhuies with only the one being size and all of them swimming back down under their own steam.
I was really happy with my two days of fishing as the last month and a half have been crap for me. I haven;t been able to get out due to work commitments and when I could het out the weather was most unkind.
