Trailer Refirb Mandurah?
Submitted by ElDub on Sat, 2017-11-04 15:52My boat trailer is in need of a birthday. Rust is starting to take its toll and I don't want to take it long distances in the condition it's currently in.
I need new guards (tandem), new leaf springs and U bolts and new axles and the bearings done.
Anywhere no anyone in Mandurah that would do this or should I just get another trailer?
Cheers.

Shore Catch Sends WA Products East
Submitted by Mick C on Thu, 2017-11-02 17:43Shore Catch is proud to advise that we have sent our first 1,000kg pallet of locally made products to Victoria. Products supplied were shredded mulies and shredded mulies blocks.
Well done to Callum and Hutch for the excellent effort in processing a tonne of shred over a couple of days, great job guys and your hard work is appreciated.
Looking forward to seeing how the Port Phillip Bay pinkies like the products. I dare say the Bay will be quite a suitable environment for the shred to work.

Pelagics Offshore From Fraser Island
Submitted by tight lines 76 on Tue, 2017-10-31 19:14Hi fishos,
I am new to FishWrecked and realize I should have become a member years ago.
I am chasing a bit of information regarding chasing pelagics offshore from Fraser Island. I have recently upgraded my boat and can now venture over the breaksea spit and would like to chase wahoo (never caught one), sailfish (never caught one) and marlin out there.
If anyone could spare some tips on where to head to find these fish it would be highly appreciated.

Furuno GP32 Waypoint Download
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Tue, 2017-10-31 13:54Looking for some help from the FW brainstrust.
My cousin has an old GP32 that has a tonne of waypoints on it that he wants to download onto his PC. We've worked out he needs to connect the unit to the PC via a RS-232C cable which I have but mine has a rectangular plug.
Can I cut the RS-232C cable I have and splice it to the NMEA wires coming out of the GP32 power cable to download the waypoints to the PC?

Overhead reel
Submitted by mr_shenn on Tue, 2017-10-31 10:55G'day everyone, I'm in the market to buy a overhead reel for jigging/bottom bouncing and trolling. Been looking at the shimano Torium and Daiwa saltist lever drag, does anyone have these reels and could give me feedback as to which might be the better way to go? Or if anyone else has any other recommendations I'd love to hear them. Cheers

Jet Boats
Submitted by Tawihiri on Tue, 2017-10-31 09:19Morning everyone,
Looking at getting an old Crayboat to fit out and use for trips offshore and extended trips etc.
Came across a jet boat around 10m but I dont know much about maitenance and fuel consumption for these particular styles. Are they any good ? Or are they just good because of being around alot of rope?
If anyone on here can give some insight into them it would be appreciated.
Thanks

Exmouth Game Fishing Charters
Submitted by SEAFORCE CORAL BAY on Sun, 2017-10-29 00:04Seaforce Charters will be operating game fishing charters from exmouth during November and December.
After our recent success in the 2017 Billfish Bonanza, we have decided to stick around in Exmouth and hassle the local billfish a little longer (that and its just blowing a gale in Coral Bay for the next 2 months). We will be running full day dedicated game fishing charters departing the Exmouth marina. We are only offering the boat to be charted by groups. we can cater for groups of 1 right up to 12 but the ideal number is 3-6 for game fishing. We will be exclusively targeting Billfish including Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish and also the prized Broadbill Swordfish (daytime deep drop). We will be in the peak of the Blue Marlin season, and with our larger vessel we will be able to fish out wide for them in most conditions. If the weather is favorable stayiong out overnight chassing Broadbill Swordfish closer to the surface is also an option. We fish 10, 24 and 37kg stand up with top of the range Shimano gear. Our vessel "Valiant" as I have said before is no airconditioned show pony. She is a 50ft Westcoaster ex crayboat. Not your typical game fishing launch but the combination of the large aluminum hull and thumping Detroit diesel engine raises fish like no other. As demonstraited by being the only vessel to consistantly find and tag Marlin during the recent Bonanza.
Prices (<6 pax):
1 Day - $2000
2 Days - $3500
3 Days - $4500
3 days highly recommended, includes overnight chasing Broadbill. Weather pending.
Current available dates:
8th - 10th November
13th - 17th November
20th - 24th November
27th November - 1st December
11th -15th December
18th - 22nd December
We are also take expressions of intrest for 2018 GAMEX and AIBT.
13th - 16th March 2018 AIBT (Australian Internation Billfish Tournament) 3 day competition game fishing, from $5,950
16th - 24th March 2018 GAMEX 6 days and 1 night competion game fishing, from $14,950

Demersal jig hooks
Submitted by Alan James on Fri, 2017-10-27 14:31With some time to spare I'm looking to make up some assist rigs to use with demersal jigs. Ebay and Ali Express have hooks branded Proberos (some black and others stainless steel). They look OK but I thought I would ask if anyone has any experience with these. Any other recommendations welcome.

Trigg Blue Hole
Submitted by chris1108 on Fri, 2017-10-27 14:07Hi,
Not the first time this has been asked, but I haven't been able to find a clear description of where people can safely fish on the actual reef at Trigg.
I've added a couple of images to make it easier. Is it possible to wade out to the area in the first image where the lower red arrow is? I know it doesn't seem likely, but gotta ask to be sure.
How about the hole where the top red arrow points to? Is this normally fished from Trigg Island?
In the second image, I've circled around what I understand to be the "Blue Hole". Am I right about that?
Any tips for my own and others safety (and productive fishing) would be greatly appreciated.

Moving far north to exmouth and beyond. Help/advice
Submitted by Markie on Wed, 2017-10-25 10:29So iv always wanted to move away from Perth to a fishing town up north. Would be bringing the 4wd/boat and the dog. Would probably have to give up bricklaying and look for another job type as there is probably not enough of that up there ?
Have any of you lads made the big shift? Where? Any reccomemdations on where/ better work opportunities or any jobs on offer etc? Have mining experience aswell but would be a last option to go back unless smaller stints. Cheers, Marko
