This is purely for the biggest species caught and measured on Fishwrecked, it will become a work-in-progress with upgrades to follow.

RULES

You must be a member of Fishwrecked to enter and have 50 posts on the forum, you can contact Adam if you feel you deserve a chance to be on the board.

You can submit entries on behalf of someone else but they must also be a member of Fishwrecked. If submitting on the behalf of another member, your user name must also be included.

Any species can be entered, at any location, by any method of catching.

2 pictures preferred with at least one picture of the species on a measuring device and one of the angler holding the species. Only one picture will be displayed - preferably of the angler with the catch.

Information required:

SPECIES...LENGTH...LOCATION...BAIT OR LURE...ANGLER(FW user name)...DATE CAUGHT.

Pictures to be taken as it lies naturally, pictures with throats cut will not be accepted.

Length will be taken from the tip of the head to the end of the tail. Squid and cuttlefish will be on tube length.

All shellfish will be a working progress to determin the best method.

There will be no joint leaders, you must beat the current displayed recorded lenght

When a current record is beaten, all details of the previous holder will be removed.

You can submit older pics, but you must have all the required info, you must also have at least 50 post on the site to be eligable.

Fishwrecked admin will have the final say on all matters.

 Great food, service and visuals!  

Whilst dining out with my gorgeous girl, we were seated with a great view of the boat ramp, possibly the best entertainment ever.

Of the 5 boats that we saw come and go, the first took approximately 8 goes to line his trailer up with his boat, resulting in a lot of reversing.  Then, when he finally lined it  up, and started winching it in, neglected to lift the leg of the outboard, and from what we could see, finally realised when there was a nasty scraping noise off the ramp.

It got better.....after seeing the first event , I was telling Vic that ramps are the best entertainment.....we were not disappointed.....

The next vehicle proceeded to reverse the boat down the ramp, after disconecting the winch, and anything else that would hold the boat to the trailer, thus resulting in the boat being dumped on the concrete ramp without the water that was supposed to be underneath it!!  Landed on its motor heavily and also the transom...

After some hasty winch action, and a lot of blokes heaving it up, all the burly blokes took off into the fading light, apparently without a care in the world.......having said that, we were there for another couple of hours and never saw them come back.......

It begs the question, are skippers tickets too easily obtained?.......

If using a 585 for trolling for macks etc at 4-8knts, should you be able to pick up schools of spanish macks, tuna etc in about 20-30m, and would they look like this pic? (from a youtube vid)

also, when pulling pushers slightly faster, can you see decent fish if they swim up to the lures etc?

 a mate posted me this photo from exmouth in the last couple of days.  Any idea what these are? and are they good eating?

Heard on the radio that the greens are not happy because there is going to be exploration gas rigs close to ningaloo reef. It is bad for fishing as well because they don't let you go near the rigs or the pipes because of the threat of terror and damage from anchors etc. Does anyone know where these gas rigs are going? 

got a phone call from marko(hoookt) and he twisted my arm to go get some sambos today, so marko, troy and myself headed out for another bash.

was not as good as thursday, even with plenty of fish on the sounder all day, they just wernt to keen today.

we still managed to get a few along with my new pb and a entry onto the board when i get it done(tomorow hopefully)

a couple of good fish droped by every one on board and something that was solid and shook troys rod to bits nearly, it was like a jack hammer on the end of the rod, we were calling it for a tuna and it would of been decent but snapped the 60lb leader in half after a few minutes.

my new pb @ 152cm and we all estamated 30kg , this thing was heavy.... gave me some curry, i was calling it for a shark right up till it surfaced and i was happy when it did.....i was nackered!!

Im doing a 3 week camping trip with the handbrake and kids at christmas. We are thinking of heading to esperance and working our way back to denmark then home to perth. Can anyone give me any tips on what to target and how to catch them at that time of year? Esperance and Denmark will be the main camp bases for at least 1 week each. I will be land based

I appreciate any hints and tips.

 Which beaches fish well for mulloway ranging from bunbury to windy harbour? I've been chasing them in the mid west and now keen for a down south one.

 where in WA would one go to target a samson landbased, what time of year and how would I go about it,

as in do I have to burley up and fish off a bunch of rocks or can I use lures and cover a bit of ground.

I know of Albany from ol'mates post and articals from western angler best pic ever of a samson. And kalbarri I dont need specific spots just the towns, for I'm planing another road trip down to that part of the country again.

Looking at heading for a land based fish out of the metro area tomorrow afternoon/all night.Havnt had much time lately due to work so thought i would make it a decent trip while i have some spare time.
Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? no more then 2 hour drive. South or North? looking at targeting mulloway, sharks etc.

 Has anyone seen any crabs yet? Probably a month or 2 to early but you never know. Thinking about going for a scoop in mandurah. Saw a couple of crabs at the rocking ham foreshore the other day

Gday guys, was hoping to get into some crayfishing in the upcoming season. Just after a bit of advice on what sort of ground to put the pots in and just other general info ie baits and ropes ect as i have never done it before. im thinking about buying a couple of the smaller pots so its a bit easier to haul around on the boat, are these any good? I have a 5.2 plate ally so should be able to get to some decent spots.

 the rivers definately healthy this year, gettign heaps of decent sized choppers compared to the years previous where ive been getting low 30's these are majority 40+ .point walter to canning bridge.

Interesting read, general gist is shark shield does nothing to a hungry shark...
although results can be deemed unfair as the regular shark shield user may not be swimming/srfing/diving in tuna oil and flesh..

Heard many things about shark shields i know id never get one and id be wary of surfing around people with em as have heard sharks are intrigued by the electro field and come in closer to check em out putting everyone else in hot water but thats my opinion and im sure at least one of you will disagree.

any success stories / reasons supporting it i would love to hear ? and i dont mean the electric shock you get when you touch the f-in thing as people i know have told me when they wipeout they get eletrocuted aha

 any one have any predictions on the macks this year ?

 Did a little deal with Hesh as a result of which the Torsa 20 off my jigging master power spell PE 4-8 is now his.

I need a replacement.  Thinking about a talica or saltiga (not sure which saltiga).  I will mostly bottom bash with the odd pretense at knowing something about jigging.  No deep drops.  Don't like fishing any deeper than 100m if I can help it.

I need something with grunt but lighter than the Torsa.

 hi guys how has the fishing at the busso jetty lately going around december so just wanted to know what was been caught with what bait/lure and where on the jetty

 got a quote from trident marine insurance today and did not get a print out or brochure with conditions or anything. does it cover the motor and to what extent? just wanna know wat im paying for. cheers

with no work booked in for today, me and my 2 boys headed out for a sambo bash...what better than no work, nice weather and some big sambos to play with.

blake had never caught anything on a jig or placcy before so it was great to see his first drop with the pink mcarthy get smashed, this thing ended up bricking him after a 5min battle with some huge runs.

rig up again with another mcarthy and bang...on again...not as big but his first fish on a placcy

back down again and he is on again, this is like the first one and pulling hard with some blisstering runs on the pe1-3 and stradic 5000

the end result, pb on a placcy for blake, 25kg+ and nearly 1.5mtrs long, the pic dose not do it justice..blake is 6ft tall and the fish still looks big,

he struggled to pic the bloody thing up.

some good fish inbetween with the majority this big, along with tripple hookups on more than 1 occasion

all in all a great day out with some arms getting a work out and blake getting the biggest for the day on the lightest rod as well.

We’re getting our boat ready to sell and needed some gel coat chips repaired.  There were a few tricky bits up around the bow sprit, some on the hull and quite a large one right down underneath.
