speeding boats in the swan
Submitted by snappermiles on Sun, 2011-02-27 12:56my mate was fishing in the swan fish last night and had just pulled up on the shore just outside the eight knot zone when a large launch flew past putting out a big wake he was hit by the wave and thrown over board breaking three ribs his mate was throw onto land with no injuries a young boy who was a little bit further up fishing a rock wall was throw into the water by the wake and another boat next to the shore was washed up the beach three metres! and the police say because it was just out of the eight knot zone they can do nothing and apparently he had already been warned for speeding in the river earlier that day! this boat was a rather large launch worth millions! has anyone had any other run ins with rich people who think they own the water because they can afford a big launch???

Some people need shooting/Auto gas problem
Submitted by Paul G on Fri, 2011-02-25 17:02Been having a spot of trouble with the gas on the cruiser. Will start but cuts out straight away. So after a couple of days of drinking unleaded I took it to TOPLINE GAS IN WANGARA. for someone to look at. Left the car there for a couple of hours for them to check it out and on returning was told that the condenser and the mixer needed replacing and would set me back $1000 +. Well I needed a little time to think about it as you would and decided to get a second opinion. took the car down to ALLGAS CONVERSIONS unit 4/4 Packard Street Joondalup and he looked it over straight away. I bet it took him 15 minutes and problem was solved. Faulty switch and best part it cost me $60. I rang the other mob back today and told them. Their best comeback was mmmmmmm missed that one. I wonder how often this happens and how many fall for it. Im sure they will lose some business from that f^^%$# up. Word of mouth is a powerful thing.

Furuno sounder help
Submitted by meersy on Thu, 2011-02-24 19:45Hi all, just having a bit of trouble with my furumo fcv582l. When in deep water,110m+, it wont read anything. Just a blue screen. As if you have the depth on 10m and are fish in 20m.I fish with it on manual, have adjusted my gain-when i turn it right up i just get clutter, tried each frequency, zoom, bottom lock, scroll speed,tx power, when i come back to 80m she comes back on and reads as normal.I used to have a fcv 620l and it worked fine up to 200m although wouldnt pich up fish at that depth but would read bottom and pick up mid water fish.I am using the same transducer for this new sounder (600w)Any help would be really appreciated.Cheers guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Swanfish or a Weekend out on the deep blue ????
Submitted by biggerfish on Tue, 2011-02-22 12:54Well I've been waiting a year for the swanfish as it's the only time I target the bream and there's nothing like going back to basics but with such a good forecast for the weekend I'm in two minds do I spend the weekend hunting the bream and maybe win a few prizes or do I head out with the soft plastics and chase the demersals Saturday and maybe head out to rotto Sunday for a troll for mackies followed by a pint and a counter meal at rotto pub. It's a tough call but as we have got a babysitter for our little man all weekend I'll leave the decision making to the mrs.

Cervantes offshore help
Submitted by Clown Fish on Mon, 2011-02-21 19:26Heading to Cervantes this weekend in the hope of finding a new weekend getaway location for me and the pups who are growing ever more interested in ofshore fishing (ages 7, 9, & 11). I have looked on the charts and found that the nothern tip of Direction Bank comes within about ten miles of town. I'm not taking the kids this weekend, just a couple of mates to have a bit of an exploration session and to suss out the beach lauch situation etc. Charts show a rise from low 40's to low 30's in a finger shape that heads south from due west of town. I would love to hear from anyone who has fished this area and their success/failures. Not asking for any spots, just advice. Will post report when I get back on Monday.
Cheers, Nemo.

Xtreme Specials
Submitted by Xtreme Coolers on Mon, 2011-02-21 14:00Hi all
I have one XT120litre blue cooler box remaining in stock. This is the last of the blue in this size as i have recently changed to the marble colour for most sizes.
Price: $200.00 this saves $50.00
Hemi picked up the second last one last Saturday.
The XT120litre is part of our standard range. It features an extra thick lid, super strong moulded hinges and handles, fully insulated, skid plates and stainless steel latches.
It is made for fisherman and also makes a great seat with the extra strength in the lid.
If you are interested in the 120 in marble, there are still good numbers available.
Ring Dave on 0403978583 for all questions and sales.
Cheers
Dave

Submitted by 3315B on Sun, 2011-02-20 21:53First up,Hi to all.
Being sitting on the side for a year or two, good site, lots of top fishing and general discussion and infomation. It is a bit of a bugger having to wait till Friday for the Friday Funnies---- good stuff, keep em coming.
Morton Bay Bugs--- Being waiting for some of the divers to say they have seen them, especially the night divers. I saw some come up in the prawn trawling nets of Karratha in Nickol Bay back in the early 70s (daytime bananas) but was very surprised, about 19 years ago, to see some come up from around the Murray Reefs(night trawling) between Mandurah and Port Kennedy.
Coming up in prawning nets puts them out on the flat country, although one member was picking them at Point Samson from the reefs at night.
One thing i do know about the prehistoric looking things is straight out of the water and into the pot, they are top chewing.
cheers
oh dear, did i mention the early 70s????? straight into the old farts club.

Bayshore Boats
Submitted by Paully on Sun, 2011-02-20 18:45Gday all - just curious, is anyone aware of what has become of Bayshore boat builders. Unless I'm having a blonde moment - they do not appear to have a website at this time. Are they still building? I was discussing these boats recently and it was suggested they are no more!! Cheers

Workshop compressor ...........
Submitted by alfred on Sun, 2011-02-20 11:09Need help with a small air compressor. I have had it for a few years and it's been fine till now. For some reason it will not pump beyond a certain pressure and that that keeps the motor from cutting out and it starts to get really hot. Checked to make sure it's not leaking anywhere, so I am wondering if the leak might be from the piston rings??

TC ?? Carlos
Submitted by crasny1 on Sat, 2011-02-19 11:56Sick off the long Cyclone prediction thread. To long. Time for Carlos.
Might with the warm temps turn into a real threat.
I am an old Rally Oz person and poor carlos Sainz use to crash his Toyota Celica all the time here in Oz, so we nicknamed him El Rolladoor!
This might just El rolladoor all the way down here and with the hot water turn into at least a Severe TC, perhaps Cat4-5 IMO.
No predictions but looks like it might be no fishing for some time up here, but the water looks great wind wise for Sunday. Might give it a bash prior to the willie willie.
Neels
Tony Halliday whats your thoughts?
