Gero accomodation
Submitted by sea-kem on Tue, 2018-06-05 10:50G'day all,
Just wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere to stay in Gero with a boat in tow. Thinking of my return journey from Gnarloo, I don't want to do it in one hit as I'll have my boy's with me and oldest has only had his licence a short time and don't want to lumber him with night time driving with the boat etc. Thought Gero is a good midway stop and that gives us the luxury of leaving Gnaraloo mid morning. Cheers Andy

Got out for a bash
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Sun, 2018-06-03 21:33After nearly 5 weeks away working in kalgoorlie work flew me home for the long weekend. Arriving home about 9:30 pm hit the water at a not so early time of about 8 am. The water wasnt as calm as id hoped from the forecast but it did calm down nicely. Altho the weather was perfect in the end the fishing was hard with nothing wanting to play apart from 2 nice occy and a good size cuttly . The fish were nowhere to be found. Tried all our usual grounds for zip apart from 1 small blackass.
Was having lunch with my parents sunday so a night fish was on the cards. The winds were almost non existant and the water was flat as . Managed 4 good runs from rays but no snapper. 1 medium ray that went fairly hard with about a 10 minuit fight. 1 monster of about 5to 6 feet accross the wings 1 shovel nose and the anothe huge run that had me guesing till a big eagle ray of about 5 feet accross came into view. Who needs the gym when you fighting these things.
All up it was great to be home foe a few days but back to kalgoorlie Monday arvo for work and definitely no fishing there. Hopefull it wont be that long between fishing next time.

im thinking of changing my super fund from colonial mutual to and industry super fund to save on annual fees can any gurus recommend a fund or funds I should take a look at. I'm 49 so still have a few years to retire yet, but just want to have a look around to see what is the best out there and to minimise annual fees going to the companies. cheers.

MIndarie Marina Groyne - closed
Submitted by Iceman on Fri, 2018-06-01 16:13Would not bother trying to fish at Mindarie Marina on the West Groye. Looks like they are adding rock and 80% is closed with no access including the northern end from the car park.
current model (mid 15 on) 200 serie owners advise
Submitted by pelagicyachts on Fri, 2018-06-01 14:06I sold my 2010 200 diesel about 2 months ago (2 months, 3days, 6 hours, 39minutes and 12 seconds to be exact)
I bought a Prado to replace - without starting bagging the prado I hate it and want my 200 back - have been looking at the current shape and wanted to know from anyone who has mid 15 onwards any issues -
I have heard a few things about the particulate filter and seems they dropped the steering wheel controls for a period (new ones have again??)
Claimed fuel economy is 9.5l per hundred - that's gotta be stretch? - am I wrong?

Car Rust Repair
Submitted by Belly Fish on Thu, 2018-05-31 15:25Hi,
Can anyone recommend a NOR place to do some fairly minor rust repairs on my Landcruiser. It's high up on the inside of the rear swing up window. Seems like a common place for rust as I've seen others the same.
It seems a lot of places are only interested in insurance jobs.
Cheers

Round 11
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Thu, 2018-05-31 14:12I'm actually a tiny bit worried about this one as the Saints have matched us well recently beating us and leading us right to the last 5 minutes last season and leading us for a fair way at home the season before. We should get the job done and done well but complacency is a killer in the AFL. Managed to score my mate's member's tickets so will be taking the Mrs and sitting in the top tier right on the wing.
I've heard that Freo and Collingwood have a new trophy for the game and Sunday's match will be known as the Clanger Cup. With S.Hill out I think that Pies just might take the choccies with the most clangers.
The biggest question of the weekend is which team will Boon be barracking for?
Fire away.

The last day...
Submitted by ranmar850 on Thu, 2018-05-31 09:31...of full time work. Sitting in the office here at TP, outstanding work all cleared up. I have a signed contract for part-time training work in Perth, and the new boat is waiting. Just need to make nenough to not dip into the super for a few more years. Only posting this to rub it in to those of you not old enough to do it yet, and, no, Boonie, this does NOT mean I will be participating in the footy threads .
Oh look, I found a really big emoji

Madagascar.......definitely worth a visit and cheap as
Submitted by sunshine on Sun, 2018-05-27 13:39Just had two weeks exploring this crushingly poor country with an average daily income of less that two dollars, they only see roughly 100,000 tourists a year. We had a professional guide and explored from Anatananivo south to the Mozambique Channel and the spiney forest. You have to drink bottled water as less than 3 percent of the population has access to safe water, the rest..,well they drink muddy river water that people do the washing in. No fishing this trip indeed only tilapia and tiny carp available in fresh water and bluntly there are NO fish over a few inches long inside the reef down south. Hope you enjoy the photos

parking the boat trailer on an incline, easy ways to get the nose up?
Submitted by Rig on Thu, 2018-05-24 17:17Hi All
Just moving house and at the new place the driveway has a slight incline, nothing crazy
I am just wondering what options there are out there for lifting the nose up so the rain etc drains out the back. my jockey wheel gets it to about level put I need to lift the trailer up by hand to get some bricks under the wheel and get the desired angle. The boat weighs about 1 ton and the ball weight would be just over 100kg estimated which is going to end in tears at some point.
Just looking at a simple setup DIY with a jack or something that wont topple and is easy for 1 person and quick.
is an extra long jockey wheel an option? bearing in mind when hooked on the car my current one only just has enough clearance to swing down
cheers
