Stuffed !! Anything BUT Chickens !
Submitted by Dreamweaver on Thu, 2008-08-07 07:27Most of you would have seen my other thread on a possible career.
Reasonable physical fitness is one of the requirements.
And I need money.
So, last night, I took the opportunity to be a 'Chicken Chaser' at Mount Barker Free Range Chickens.
You have to catch the chickens, pickem up, dump them in crate (6 per crate) then stack the creates on a pallet - 4 piles of crates per pallot, 5 crates per pile - or 20 crates per pallot.
Between THREE of us we did 55 pallets - thats 55 x 20 x6 = 6,600 f#$@(*! chickens!
I'M STUFFED!
I know, nothing to do with fishing, but if I die of exhaustion, I won't be doin any more fishing
That's my excuse!
More chooky babes tonight!

First choice as going to be Mahi Mahi, but that's taken ... U#@eic5p!
Since I like chasing mahi at the FADs, I am thinking along the lines of "Far Out", "Out There" or "Out Deep", but open to suggestions!

Fishwrecked in Egypt
Submitted by Colin Hay on Tue, 2008-08-05 21:56Well after years of planning, my wife and I finally made out trip to Egypt recently.
I have got to say that it was an even better trip than I had hoped for.
Egypt is a fantastic place. The people were great. Really helpful and friendly. The scenery was incredible. It is amazing to see how such an advanced civilisation was really created around a very thin strip of land that sits on both sides of the Nile River.
And as for Cairo. It is a crazy city, but I would go there again tomorrow. 15 million people, 5 million cars, 24 hours a day traffic jams, but it has an incredible buzz.
It is amazing to see how close the Great Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx is to the city. The Sphinx is a lot smaller than you would picture, it is roughly the size of a bus.
The trip up the Nile on a cruise boat was a great experience, as was the visit to the temples and tombs at Aswan and Luxor. The artwork in the tombs was incredible and some of the carvings and paintings are so well preserved it looks like it was only done recently. There are plenty of yummy mummys in Egypt. The young egyptian ladies are stunning. Sorry, but customs (my wife) wouldn't let me bring you one back.
Matt (Mako). Unfortunately you cant' take cameras into the mummy sections at the Egyptian Museum.
Below are just a few of the hundreds of pics I took. I hope you don't mind me posting them, as I know they are not fishing related, but I thought some of you may be interested.
All the best, Colin Hay

Mechanical HELP 25hp Johnson
Submitted by Spooled on Mon, 2008-08-04 13:13Hi all, just wondering if anyone can give advice on an issue we are currently having with a 25HP johnson motor. The motor starts fine and runs perfectly on plain for about 3 or 4 hundred metres and then starts to kick and the motor loses all power. U can then turn the motor off and start immediately and then your off again, same issue about 300m down the track. When I say kick the motor seems to cavitate back and forth and you are forced back down to an idle!!
We seem to think that a build up of air or petrol flow may be an issue. Nothing stands out!!
Any help will be appreciated!!
P.S Spark plugs have been replaced and the topic of water in fuel has been discussed however would have thought the motor would run like $##@ from word go!!

Torsa 16N
Submitted by seansurfy on Mon, 2008-08-04 12:05Has anyone used one of these?
I'm looking for a reel to fish PE5, mostly for jigging, but also possibly live baiting(clicker) and fishing soft plastics deep. It holds about 300m of PE5 which will be enough for what I want to use it for.

Perth to Lano
Submitted by alfred on Sun, 2008-08-03 08:32I took a drive up to Lancelin yesterday and stopped into all the towns along the coast on the way up to see if it looked "fishy".
Finally got to see the mouth of the Moore River and Ledge Point.
Walking along the beach with the kids at Lano, I was suprised to see so many squid skeletons. There were more there then any of the other beaches. The place was covered in them and I can only imagine that the squid fishing from the small jetty here must be great! Anyone try squidding there?
Anyone try squidding at Two Rocks?
How is the land based fishing at any of these areas?

waterworld in wangara
Submitted by menopaul on Sat, 2008-08-02 20:06what fantastic service from waterworld in wangara, anybody with a boat north of the river should give these guys a go. they are relatively new to wangara and specialise in evinrude motors especialy the etec. they have the xd100 oil for sale at $45.00 which is $20.00 dollars cheaper than anywhere else. i found the guys to be extremely helpfull in sorting out a programing problem i had with my new etec, that had the dealer that originaly fitted it completely stumped. they even offered to sell my old boat for me and gave me a couple of tickets to the boat show. outstanding service they can be contacted on 93099384 or visited at 12 bombadier rd wangara

Treading on thin ice
Submitted by fishy fingers on Tue, 2008-07-29 20:34I may be treading on thin ice here seeing as some people didnt like my hijacking of rodrats account re the big pink snapper post but...I would realy like to know how people stand regarding the filling of the freezer, or taking all they can just because it's legal as so many posts have said "its within the rules so no laws broken". Given that we are about to be faced with closures and reduced bag limits because according to our illustrious government body fisheries wa the fish stocks are in decline.
so is it really ok to take the existing bag limits or to fish enough to make sure you have enough fish to see you over a 3 month ban. my take on this is if we all had fished more responsibly in the past and not taken our bag limits of whatever fish or whatever the limits we wouldnt be in this situation we find ourselves in now...or i could be wrong and I include the commercial sector in this too. does anybody think back and admit to themselves yes we did take all we could cos it was legal but in hindsite maybe we shouldnt have. I know we all have our opinions and are allowed to have them albeit with a bit of flak from others from time to time, but do we realy beleive if it's legal at the time then it's ok. So what is your view is it ok just cos its legal or is it irresponsible from your point of view. I'm posting this because I realy would like to know how people feel as i do get conflicting impressions from people.
Tis isn't a dig at anybody in particular I'm trying to find what people think.

Comments
Submitted by Rodrat on Tue, 2008-07-29 16:28Hi All
Firstly i want to make it clear that this is not
a post to start a bitching session LOL.
I was thinking about the situation that happened to the big pinky
post when my comments were hijacked.
It seems that when ever someone posts a comment that isnt the opinion of most people that they get jumped on and looked down upon.
A opinion is someones thoughts on the matter and i dont think that they should be harshly jugde on it.
Am i the only one who thinks this or am i paranoid?
Thanks
