PB tailor
Submitted by bitten on Fri, 2014-06-20 21:59PB tailor I got tonight on my last cast went 82cm, he got full aerial 3 times, caught on 12lb gear
prety stoked, lost a similar one a few casts earlier too, took about 15 or 20
minutes to revive him enough to swim off, we'll worth the effort though

Shimano Beast Master
Submitted by jayce on Fri, 2014-06-20 19:37Hi All
Just chasing anyones experience wih shimano beast master rods.
I am looking for a couple of 15-24kg rods to run 30 size shimano reels on with some 50lb mono purely for trolling when we go up north.
There is a good deal on the beast master 24kg roller tip rods at the moment and i can get 2 for $130.
Would these be a good option? I dont need anything to expensive for trolling rods as they dont get used heaps.
Cheers Jayce

Penn Reel Wanted
Submitted by Deckie on Fri, 2014-06-20 10:59Hi folks, just wondering if anyone out there can help me. I am chasing a Penn 5500ss spin reel for a buddy. He is taking his disabled son to exmouth for a few weeks of R&R & fishing. The reason it's a 5500ss is he has just received an electric motor for the new Penn 5500ssv but it does not fit. It was built for the 5500ss, the bolt pattern is different. If there is anyone out there in Perth that would care to part with their Penn 5500ss, it would be greatly appreciated. The trip is planned for next week 25/6/2014.
cheers & thanx very much

Underground Hide
Submitted by Grant Jones on Thu, 2014-06-19 21:36After enjoying a tiger fishing trip at Sidinda Lodge, you might want to stay a night or two at Bomani to encounter elephant before you head home.
I thought some of you might find this interesting. Here are a few pictures from the underground hide build,as well as a few of Elephant from the hide.
In the south eastern corner of Hwange National Park, at Stoffie's Pan, the hide is carefully camouflaged as a termite heap and buried under an ancient Mitswiri tree. Inside it has comfortable seating and even a flush toilet.
The photographic opportunities from it are phenomenal. Elephants can be photographed from toe level silhouetted against the sky at a distance of 8m. Such close proximity to Hwange's huge bulls is honestly breath-taking!

stradic 5000 v sustain 5000 for gomoku pe1-3
Submitted by Rocktron on Wed, 2014-06-18 20:05hi, after opinions on a reel for a gomoku pe1-3 (spinning). Thinking either stradic 5000 or sustain 5000 with probably around 20-30lb line. Both seem to have the same specs/weight etc except for the number of bearings. What are peoples thoughts or any other sugestions for this rod?

Exmouth report
Submitted by JamesB on Wed, 2014-06-18 19:07Fished Sunday and Monday with On Strike charters out of exmouth. Took home 5 good size spaniards over the two days. The wind made things a bit challenging, but had dropped off by Tuesday when we were flying home. We gave away a heap of fillets around the caravan park.
All up a great weekend.

Jye's First Snapper
Submitted by The Saint on Wed, 2014-06-18 12:30Just returned from Shark Bay and thought I'd share with you all a pic of my 5 year old grandson, Jye, with his first ever pinky.
Fish went 66cm and 5.5 kg.
Of course he wasn't able to do it all himself and Pop did the pump while Jye did the wind.
We were fishing in the Easern Gulf so it had to be released which was a shame, as he loves his fish and wanted to take it home and eat it !
Cheers,
The Saint
