Have not been out with them for ages and have moved twice in a couple of months due to renting and our house being built. Which is taking ages, dickheads everywhere clearly breaking the rules. And got pulled over by the dept of transport in there shiny boat!

 So after my ray incident on Friday night I have been pondering how I would land a good fish (decent Mulla etc) off rocks when fishing by myself? What's best to go with, gaff, net? Any tips/techniques so you can avoid the heart break of losing a cracker of a fish right at the death?

Witnessed a lot of guys speeding on the stretch North of Preston Beach this weekend.  In some places the beach is quite narrow and speeding vehicles come in close proximity of anglers. 

This one was not so lucky!

 Had a bad run at a new spot shark fishing and between me and a mate we lost 7 sharks in the 5 hours we have spent there ranging from 1.5m ones on cast baits we lost at our feet to some monsters that where just to big for even our heavy gear and just made us look stupid so it was a major relief to finally land one of these even if it was only a small bronzie. 

Yesterday morning I got a dive in and managed this nice blue that is now my pb! Seen plenty of queenys and few bonito and a big bluefin around 15-20kg but there where to fast or I had an unloaded gun. Only got the one fish but that's all I was after as I still have a bit in the freezer.

Went fishing at my favourite Tailor spot about 10km North of Preston Beach this weekend.  Caught a number of Tailor and a Shovelnose Ray during the day. As the sun was setting I attached my new Daiwa Saltist 50H to the Purglas 350 rod which I recently imported and slid a Tailor head out for Shark.  I continued fishing for Tailor and when I turned around to check on my rod it was gone!  My mate and I took a couple of casts and he managed to hook onto the rod and could feel the fish pulling.  He managed to gain a couple of metres before his 4kg line snapped.  We spent the next hour casting trebles into the dark to try and hook the rig - but to no avail. 

If anybody does pull my rig out by chance please let me know - willing to pay a reward.

We were thinking around 20kilos, it bottomed out the 15kilo scales pretty easily, my hand is wrapped around it as much as i could

 Can any one PM me the co-ordinates for the D9 or the Gravel Patch in the sound? It would be greatly appreciated.

 Sorry, no pictures but saw some people assemble a huge green and yellow air pillow object at Black Wall Reach. Put someone on the 'pillow', then get 2 blokes to jump from the wall and send them flying 30 feet in the air!!! Plenty of people watching and they also had a basket ball ring trying to do some dunks!!! Looked like fun!

Hey guys can anyone recommend a good place to get some charts for perth metro area through to two rocks.. I currently use my sounder with Navionics gold map to find spots but it is a bit hit and miss and not the kind of deatil I'm looking for. Specifically Im looking for something like a hydrographic chart or something that shows underwater structure like detailed lumps etc... I have seen one once but cant remember what its called or where to get them from. Any help is appreciated.

                     I went crabbing yesterday and got a nice feed at Garden Island although a lot were only just size. When we were finished we decided to get some mussels off the timber pylons.

                     My mate reckons you can't eat them off concrete pylons. Can any one tell me why as I have looked online and can't find any evidence to back this up. Is this just another urban myth?

Jigging Master Drag Washer Upgrade for Daiwa Electric reels.
 

Theres no doubt Super Deep fishing is becoming very popular and so is the use of electric reels. Daiwa is a popular brand and one we use ourselves out there but standard drag smoothness and longevity isnt very good. Since Ryan ugraded his Daiwa electric reel with the JM electric drag washers we wont recommend anything else. We have been upgrading our customers reels with great feedback also.
 

These washers are ultra smooth, last a longtime, work well when the washers are hot or if water is on the drag washers so basically no more sticky drag. JM Electric Drag washers suits 750 & 1000 models including Megatwins.

Heh guys,

Off to buy PFD at Whitworths tomorrow for when out on boat, but not sure to go manual or automatic type or which brand.

Automatic seem to make sense, except for my concern of the boat capsizing and I am trapped underneath and unable to swim out due to the automatic inflating.

Any advice ?
