SeaJay 3.85m HS

 Hi all,

Just sold my 3.4m Stacer Gourame after 24years.

I have ordered a new SeaJay Nomad 3.85m HS car topper with twin rear steps and weled in rod holders x 2 and transducer bracket. total 110kg.

I caught up with two guys at Exmouth last year both with 3.7m Nomads HS. They loved them.

Has anyone else know about the Nomad HS boats.

Regards Jim

Oceanic fabrication 7.5m

I'm looking at getting an oceanic fabrication 7.5 m built and want to know if anyone on here has one or knows of them, I'm on the east coast so can't really go look , but would like to know about the build quality, and how they ride in the rough? heading into it and with a following sea, if anyone has one are you running twins or a single? Also anything you would have added at build stage? Any comments would be much appreciated

cheers Clint

19R Haines Hunter

Just updated the 19R Haines Hunter.

I am stoked with the amount of room that i have gained from the addition of the pod and hard top.

If you want a hard top, speak to JIM at Marineline in Wangara. His fab work is the best and really has done an amazing job.

Now for the internal fit out.

Anyone in Perth with fiberglass boat boxes let me know and any good seats. I am thinking about going down the lesuire cat passenger seat style with the L-arm adjustable back rest. I want to maintain as much deck space as possible.

Hopefully get the cray pots in by 1 dec and then fish the ORSSC dec comp!

Chivers meridian

Hi all, anyone know who owns this one in particular? Or own one in general? I seem to like them but have no idea about how they ride so any input will be much appreciated. Im looking at buying a boat but not keen on paying boat yard premiums. As ive mainly fished out of a kayak any info on ali boats 18-20ft range would be beneficial. Looking at spending around 35k and need a kid/non fishin mrs friendly boat but hardcore enough for me which these seem to cover with compromise on both ends. Cheers

2006 boat project

bought this plate hull after finding it at my bosses house. Saw that it was a Milton rear and Greg collett built boat and a Dave Jackman hull which was amazing. After tossing and turning wheather to keep it or not, I decided to go all out in it and build the boat again to how I wanted it.

All welding and fab work was done by Willie and bullet welding. He is a great guy to deal with and one of the nicest blokes I have come across and his team also.

Its a 6.3m hull 7.4loa

alot of money has gone into this and I am almost finished.

So got rails put onnthe marlin boards for jogging and scuba diving. They both have fold down ladders for both divers.

Upgraded the 80l poly tank to a 240 stainless and a 110l kill tank

enclosed the front cabin area

got the hard top strengthened and also got the transom re-enforced for the 200 Honda

got the bow rails removed and extended and raised higher for those big tuna throwing sessions

prob abit more but can’t rememeber haha

First boat

HI all finally got my self a boat was pretty run down but iam giving her a lick of paint another engine and some fancy stuff . What do ya think . And do you think it would be alright inshore fishing ?

Reef runners

Hi guys. Was checking out a few boats st the show. Really liked the bar rushers. I know some people aren’t keen but seemed to appeal to me. However also really liked the Caribbean reef runners, and made me reconsider whether to go fibreglass. Will be arranging rides in both. Just wondering if could get personal opinions from reef runner owners on what you feel is great about them, and any shortcomings? Prob about same price range once all fitted. May come down to what I can tow in the end...

Boat Hull thicknesses

had my boat in for some additional stuff to be added to it. Wanted to know the thickness on the hull sheets.

came back with 5mm transom and 4mm side and what most surprised me was 4mm kewl sheets. I dono if this sounds right to me or if it was even legal to have it this thick?

the boat is. 6.2 plate 7.3loa.

Quintrex 500 freedom sport bowirder

Hi, just wondering if anyone owns or knows much about the quintrex 500 freedom sport bow rider? Thanks

Inflatable Tenders

Hey Fellas

Looking at getting a small tender for ferrying 2 adults & s small kids between the boat and shore at Rotto this Summer.  Will be strapped to the bow/transom so want to keep the weight and size to a minimum. Inflatable deck looks to be the go. Will be powered by a 2.3hp Honda.

Hard to filter between the quality and all the chinese shit that seems to look ok. Obviously want to keep the cost down without sacrificing too much quality.

Leanining towards the Sirocco 2.2m Air Hull at 26kg but just not sure on the quality.....

Arisotocraft Kinglite was also recomended to me but looks to be a superseded model.

Any advice appreciated!

Or, if anyone has a good condition 2nd hand one floating around id be interested.

Pacemaker 21 offshore history

Hey guys I have recently got a 1970s 21 off shore pacy was wondering if any one could shed some  light on the history of these hulls  . I've herd that some of the moulds are based off either Bertram's and some of the hains hunter deep vee hulls any one know wheather this is true ???

Quintrex 610 ocean sport reviews/thoughts/experiences

hey guys,

i got a 610 ocean sport that I do love, its. 2005 build with a unbreakable  Honda 150.

the markets is flooded with plate boats and being that mine is “pressed ally” I bealove 5mm bottom and 3mm presses sides has me thinking that it’s not that tough of a boat. I do smash it through some decent chop and head out the fads and even further out jigging, great boat handed real well and super dry sides.  Has anyone else got a similar boat to mine and even if anyone has some further knowledge about the “presses ally strength” compared to plate ally boats would be amazing.

What kind of boat is this?? Assassin, Razorline ???

Found this 2006 custom plate hull sitting in a garage so I bought it.

a bloke named Milton rear made it down in Bunbury and I’m pretty sure he built the assassins and Razorline also.

its 7.4m LOA and 6.2m of hull. 6mm bottoms and 5mm sides was told

it was built on surveying specs

any help would be great

Southbound Boats

Hi All,

in the market for a new boat and seen the 7m island cab from Soithbound boats. Just seeing if anyone has one and any reviews on the southbound boats?

Cheers

Razerline hull prices

Hey guys,

i have found a 2006 razerline hull for sale. It hasn’t seen water for about 4 years and has been stored in a shed. So you can imagine it has a shit load of dirt on it. Trailer is in good nick just needs new bearings and maybe axel also on both.  It looks to me to be a 6.3 hard top razerline but I believe it to be a custom build for his specific requirements as a avid diver. He said that it can be licences to survey also.

Ill iplaod a pic of it but the pic of the hull is when it was new but will look like that after a wash.

So im just pricing it up on hull alone. It needs new electrics through out.

He wants roifhly 28k for the hull and trailer only but I cAnt find an razerlins out there to go off for price.

Cheers guys and thanks in advance for your help.

thommo.

Trailcraft profish

gday guys, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the profiah boats by trailcraft, particularly the sizes over the 5M mark. Struggling hard to find any info on them online so any advice or info on them would be much appreciated. Its mainly for shallow water fishing and a bit of offshore stuff.

Cheers

Jack

Chivers sports fisherman ex

 hi crew,

i've come across a 1988 chivers sports fisherman EX. It has the factory fitted pod with a yami 100 4 stroke fitted 2 years ago. the gauge shows 4 hrs. the boat is in amazing conditon from what i can see. its on a dunbar trailer in great condition. there is no substantial gps or sounder. i can not fault the boat as a whole condition wise.

i plan to fish out to 20 miles off shore with 2 mate, take the family to rotto and do a little skiing/tubes/wakeboard with the kids

my questions are what sort of money do you think it is worth?

how do they handle in the open ocean?

I'm finding it hard to find anything on this boat with the factory fitted glass pod so has anyone ever fished or been out in one.

for me the size condition and the price she is asking fits my criteria (although i was set on a baron) this boat has popped up and is just about too good to pass up.

i will try to work out how to uplaod a photo.

cheers

Sea Rider boat

 Hi guys,

Anyone have any info on boat pictured? Searider 5.3 what there like ride wise and at rest? Searched internet with no luck.

Cheers in advance

First Boat

Hi guys, I am 14yo and planning on getting a boat between two other mates. I know the rules that people under 16 have to have 15hp or under but when we are 16 we want to be able to have the same boat and maybe go out to garden island. Just wondering what metre boat minimum would you recommend to go out that far. We are on a budget of 2 grand each so thinking of getting a second hand boat of gumtree and gearing it up live bait tanks etc. Will also use the boat for fishing and crabbing in the river but mainly fishing 1-10km offshore to get to garden island and squid in shallower. Any advice would be much appreciated as we do not want to head out undergunned as 3 14yo kids with no supervison ending up drowing. We will only head out far on calm days and also any other places with good second hand boats would be appreciated. Cheers.

5.6-5.8m glass boat. swiftcraft, fraser or baron

 hi

im in the market for a glass boat and i like the look and sound of the swiftcraft domi or explorer, the fraser voyager and the baron sportsman or outriders. i think i like transom mount or factory pod mount (but i will be honest and say i haven't had any dealings with pods) i want a good safe boat to take my growing boys (8 and 5) and mates fishing and be able to take the family across to rotto and return comfy in the seabreeze. is there anything defining or separating these good old wa boats. my budget is around $20000. 4 banger is ideal obviously but not scared of a 2 banger if its suitable. all opinions and help will be great.

thanks in advance

Hand-rail (safety device)

Had the (salt-water proof) Alloy hand rail put ALL round the boat and had small 'steps' welded to the rear of each side of the hull, so if I went over, or diving, it would be easier to get back in

Real reason is to keep the Croks out when chasing big Barra up in the Kimberly creeks or rivers !!

Thinking about filling in the first (or is it the second) gap in the handrail with more blue tarp material, was put there to try and stay a bit dryier in rough conditions

Can just get into back of boat when on trailer, height of alloy bar had to be 'adjusted' so it was 'comfortable' to slide across, or go safely between legs

Small flat step placed each side assists with getting onto tinney from shore when pushed out- is level with hull underneith.

Now how do I get rid of the 'advertising signs' put there by the retailer

Identifying an older hull

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I bought this boat recently and was told it was an old Fraser fiberglass hull but after a bit of research I can’t find anything that looks even close to it. I know the pod is an add on but is the hardtop custom as well? It’s also orange under the silver paint.. could it be an old sea rescue boat? The other thing I wanted to know is if there are any common issue with the hull or transom that I should keep an eye out for. Thanks

Formosa 480 CC Offshore

 Hi all,

Just about to (maybe) plonk the money down on a new 2018 Formosa Tomahawk CC Offshore with a 100hp Honda on a Duniber trailer.

Before I do I would ask if anyone has a any comments on these boats, good or bad.

Was looking at Quintex, but decided on a plate boat for a bit more robustness.

Last boat was a 28ft Seaswirl walkaround with twin 115 johnsons, but at 3.2t it was just too big for an old bloke to launch and retireve without assistance. Not to mention it drank fuel like a drunken sailor consumes rum.

This one is for maily around Mandurah, with some (near) offshore fishing between Esperance and Exmouth (but never in heavy seas).

Thanks,

Kim

Anyone know who owns this boat

Guys,
Looking at a Commodore Marine 7000 attitude and would like to speak to the owner as I think its on consignment.

Long shot but someone on here may know who owns it.

Thanks

ShockWave S5 Suspension Seats

Been thinking for a while now to install some suspension seats on the Boston Whaler for those extended trips out deep or ploughing to Rotto in rough weather. After a lot of research, I've settled on these as being my preferred option in terms of performance and price. Has anyone else already been down this route and have any feedback. Reviews online in the US appear to be very favourable and positive on the durability and technology they utilise ... There is a business in Fremantle that has the dealer rights to bring the product in as I understand it.

HOT ROD THE VROD - 345 hp Verado Flash Tune - Sea trial

Time to crank up the boost pressure on my Verado 250 hp.

Just got the interface cable and flash tune from Simon Motorsport in California, complete with a 300 hp tune for use on 91 RON (USA 87 Octane) standard unleaded, and a HOTROD 345 hp tune for use on 95 RON (I think I will be feeding it 98 on this tune).

I have started with 300 hp with the current prop, will see how it goes and then prop it up and crank it to 345 hp!!!!

YEAH BOY!!!!!!

Interface cable from the States. Expensive but can be used for other Verado tune ups, just need to buy the map specific to your ECU serial number.

Hooked up with laptop ready to go. Choose your power. 250 hp, 300 hp or 345 hp! 5 minutes to reflash as many times as you want.

Reflash in progress, more boost please! -------- VRods are electronically boost controlled and all 225-300 hp Gen2 motors are identical excpet for the boost setting and fule/ignition maps. A remap from 250 hp to 300 hp is still "stock standard", I guess a tune up to 345 hp  eats into the design contingency a bit......

Would you trust your VROD with this dodgy looking bloke....

Regulator 28 Build - Shrink wrapped and on the way

Well, two mates and I were having a beer at the MAAC club (JohnF, Langa and Den) discussing boats and nek minute.........

All three of us were already contemplating upgrading existing our boats, either with new engines, new electronics etc or new boats, and it appeared none of us alone could get the existing boats to what we wanted and new boats are getting rediculously expensive, so it was decided we would chip in some money each and go 1/3 in a new boat. Aim was for a no compromise fishing boat that would run hard in rough seas.

We looked at every boat out there, and being a fishing only boat, it had to be a centre console and deep V. Compromises (there are always compromises) with such a boat were a wet ride and lack of stability at rest......In the end all of us could not get past the Regulator's reputation for ride quality, with deep 24 degree V (ride quality), huge carolina flair (drier ride and mitigates risk of bow submerging on big seas), heavy stringer design (improves ride quality AND stability as a lot fo weight is below the water line)....a true blue water battleship. Front and sides clears package eases the pain with the wet ride that any centre console has.

Well, after getting over the sticker shock (it makes it easier when you have two other fools as dumb as you to share the financial load with.....) and going for a run on a Reg 23 and Reg 34 in Perth thanks to the local Regulator Dealer One Brokerage in Claremont (thanks Evan), we agreed on a 28 Regulator.

We managed to secure a gap in the production line and the boat is currently in build to our spec and should be inPerth in September. Spec of the boat is:

- 32.6 ft long overall. The Yanks like to understate length.......

- 2 x 300 hp Yammies - top speed 52 knots. Fuel burn.......dont ask, this thing will be terrible!

- 24 degree deadrise, and up to 50 degrees at the bow.

- 2 x 16 inch Garmin MFDs and B275 LHW CHIRP tranny.

A few photos of the beast in production.

Question about Boats

Have been out today and looked at a couple of boats, the first one was a Caribbean 23 Sedan with a inboard merc of which has done 780hhrs is this a lot of hrs for this sort of engine, the other one was a 1977 shark cat custom with twin 75hp 2 strokes on  both boats are around the $26000 mark, engiens on this boat have only done 180hrs, what do people think about these boats and does anyone own one at all
