Going out for the first fish in the new dinghy tomorrow and would like to get off to a good start with a couple of bream. We were goint to try Canning/ Mt Henry Bridge and around some snags in Rossmoyne/ Shelley area. Does anyone know where they are hiding?

like many others in Perth, we had fence damage in the storms.  I need a quote (insurance job) to remove a rear limestone wall and steel gates, and remove a side boundary fence (some super six, some asbestos) damaged in the storms, and replace both rear fence (including 2 x sets double gates) and side boundary fence with colorbond.

Yes, Lost the Stella 8000SW overboard. FKN shark suddenly got a life, kicked and the leader ripped through my hands. As quick as a flash - gooone. Few swear words and man tears drowned by amber fluid and I am in for a replacement.

Thinking about a heavy weight combo, not needing a GT popper rod or reel, but after that, as good as it gets.

Thinking StellaSW10000 and Samurai Jig10.

Or for the Stella SW 10000 what is another top rod.. $$ an option, but lets face it, if I am gonna get a Stella its NOT.

Have a small tinny which we can take out, and plan to go in the morning.

Went recently and caught 15 gardie over 40cm, one got to 55cm.

Tasmanian import here, (dont hold that against me) and love this site. I am excited by the prospect of doing some decent beach fishing on these fantastic beaches around Mandurah. I have to invest on a beach rod though. My question is, are the cheap "Big W" rods and reels ok, or should I invest in a better rod and reel. I should point out that I am quite a novice.

I've bought sump 7" Gulps & was wondering which way up I should  hook them?

There is a big groove, should the hook come out in the groove, or should it come out opposite the groove??

After having a cylinder down on one of my Yamaha 115 4-stroke and finally putting it down to a blocked fuel injector I was told by a boat sales and service shop NOR that they are a throw away item and to replace it. $295 for one!! I whipped them out and took them to an injection shop, $40 bucks a pop to get cleaned, picked 'em up the next day and now my boat runs like a dream. In fact since I got all four done I now have heaps more grunt in that starboard motor so I am going to get the port motor done now.

My point is...don't take all advice from boat places as gospel. Do some research yourself and you will save loads of cash.

i Realise that a fcv 295 will be better than a 585... but just wanna know peoples opinions on both units is the 295 just a bigger screen with same capabilities?

have heard and been confirmed that they are no longer producing any s-extreme reels from production

im still not overly conviced that the new 2010/2011/2012 are any good like the old saltigas

If anyone fishes Mindarie marina, I was walking along the Northern part of it today(up near the park) and there were 2 Samson's about 15-20kg swimming along about 2m out from the rocks. I reckon a couple of mulies and you would have some serious fun!

Lookin to use 5" jerk shads/ 110mm flick baits and 7" jerk shads/145mm flickbaits, just wonderin wot size hooks are ideal for each. Do people use diff hook sizes say with the 5" if targeting flatties or pinkies. Im not refering to weight, I mean the gape size

well as the title states.....tonite was the worst night ever and i should of canned it from the start???

to start of with my mate was late and then it went down hill from there....

got to the ramp and f...k me..... i left my keys at home........never done that before ever!!!!

on the way back to the ramp, everyone decided it was time to sit on 40klm, all the way down canning hwy...

back at the ramp.... keys in and off we goooo.......cant get the boat off the jetty, its like someone has a rope tied to us????

head out to our spot and then i cant drop the anchor in the right spot.....30 mins later we are set??? to the amusement of a few others....hope you guys are enjoying the show as theres more to come......

get the nets out..... and my mates from a previous night have taken the wrong end of the 2 piece poles and we are left with short nets

40mins later the anchor starts to drift and we are at it again.....by now i am very pissed off and my mates are taking the piss out of me big time!!!

all the jokes come out, and trust me there were some rippers!!..ON YA GUYS

we finally get 30mins of prawning in with no issues and then we start drifting again.....fffaaarrrkkkk!!!... right towards another boat...

sorry guys i have done this before..... many times?....trust me????

crank up the donk and drag the anchor forward until it grabs again,, solid this time!!  right next to the guys who had seen our show for the last 1 1/2hrs.

the pack up and back on the trailer didnt go any better, except for the part when we left the ramp....

i am going to cop it big time from the mates for the next week or so... its not like i havent done this before, but tonight was one of them nights you want to forget!!!!!

still managed a few prawns, even though the biggest of the night was myself.

i apologize to any f/w members that seen this fiasco.

i blame it all on goodz....who should of been my deckie...he knows what he is doing!!!!
