Marking Forums as read

I gotta be pig ignorant here, is there anyway i mark a whole forum as read, other than opening up each topic that has been commented on?

Maximum people allowed on a vessel

Hi,

The builders plate on my boat states that I am allowed 5 people = 375kg.

Does this mean I can legally put 6 people on the vessel if the combined weight is less than 375kg if I have enough life jackets etc?

And if I put more on will I get fined and how much?

Not going offshore or doing anything stupid was just thinking of taking a few people out in the estuary and canals in Mandurah to look at the Christmas lights.

Cheers

How many GWs will be caught

Ok, from all the info I've gathered from all this shark topic is that the shark control measures is approved. Talking with my brother at work today we were putting bets on how many great whites will be caught this summer till April? I reckon maybe 2 GWs will be caught in the metro, he reckons heaps. Both of us agree that heaps of tigers and whalers will be caught.

just wondering if information of captures will be publicly available( not through rubbish news)? Or will we be able to go check out a big captured GWs when it's landed. Would love to take my kids there and check it out.

how many GWs do you guys reckon will be caught this summer?

What to get the mrs for Christmas?

So who can assist with some suggestions on what to get the wife for Christmas? Maybe even some of the female members on here?

i am dead set fresh out of ideas. Done the whole perfume, day spa's, dresses, jewelry, e reader, ect.

been married now for about 8 years and it don't get any easier picking something out. The mrs had a baby in the last year so she got her wish there also. Hahaha

any good quality suggestions would be much appreciated by several forum members, I am sure I am not the only one on here in this pridiciment.

its easy enough for the women to buy blokes things. Shimano this, Daiwa that, anything fishing related really.

sorry I know this is not fishing related however I am sure I am not the Lone Ranger here.

Looking to get wet on Thursday

I have the day off on Thursday and am hoping to get out for a dive to chase some crays.  If you have a spot on your boat, I would be happy to chip in for gas or what ever.

beached boat near Goodwood ski area

Anybody know anything about this beached boat?

Facebook Like - whats the deal with this?

Sorry to ask about this on a fisheries site, but it is General discussion.

What is the deal with "like us on Facebook"?

Do you get a reward for likes or what. Every site you visit now almost on the web have a facebook page and on their main internet sites they always request like us etc.

Sorry but I dont get this, so I dont like if I ever go there.

Campbell Brown Sacked ..

was going to suggest he put a Dockers jumper on but looks as if he's retiring.. by most accounts I've heard Steven May was rotten drunk and instigated the dramas and Brown was trying to get him to settle down . May then took a swing at Brown ( big mistake ) then copped a smack from Brown which resulted in a fractured jaw . In hindsight , it may not have been a good idea for the boys to be out on the turps .

electrician help needed please

I'm trying to replace an external light.

The old light was the old style inside eg had four wires going into four 'holes' - red, black, earth and white (I'm assuming this is for the switch).

The new light only has three 'holes' to fit the the four wires, so the question is where does the white (switch) wire go?

Any help much appreciated as this is driving me nuts.

Cheers

so I made a new reef pick that I need to get galvinized, but the local (O'Connor) galvinizers want minimum charge of $60 +GST!!! fark that, I can buy a new anchor for $30!

Photobucket - has it changed

Just checking. I havent used photobucket for a little while now. Tried to upload some fishing photos and then copy them back to here. But it appears on this computer, not my own that the whole setup has changed. I cant get the display I am used to  to the link to paste this across.

Now is this just this computer (which I doubt) or has the whole setup changed, and if so, how do I go about it?

Cheers

Craft beers

Am interested  to see if any of you guys get into the craft beers. Tell us what you have tried and what you like. The new moon dog jumping the shark at 15.4% is pretty lethal and I like thier lando kardashion and wet nurse tonic also. Nogne 100's are good at 9% and the rigor mortis beer is probably my favourite. Narwhals ( 10% ) and hoptimums ( 10%) also are good regulars. Just heaps better than normal beers in my opinion. Who's drinking what?

Tattoo Parlours

Looking to get a Celtic Cross done for Christmas , any recommendations for shops north of the river up Joondalup way

Nautical Nick-Nacks

Hey all FW Crew.

I'm putting this out there under directions from Mrs Browndog. We are doing up a house, and she wants any old nautical/fishing/marine stuff for decoration, inside and out. So if you have any: anchors, cray pots, crab nets, prawn nets, nets, floats, rope, lighthouses, oars, portholes, ships bells, ships wheels, plastic lobsters, plastic crabs, plastic fish, starfish, divers helmets, telescopes, periscopes, lanterns, charts, sextants, fishing gear or whatever, drop me a line.

This won't make you rich, but may make Mrs Browndog happy, which may make me happy. Karma may go round, and your missus may make you happy? I hope she does.

Thanks in advance

BD.

My Good Deed For the Day

Was just cruising around today at Pt Walter with the Jetski and some mates when a pod of dolphins came over for a play. Had a bit of fun then as i went to leave i saw another jetski with 3 blokes having trouble so went over to see what was going on. Turns out their ski rope got caught in the intake and had caused a bit of damage. Ended up hooking them up and towing them back to the Mossie Park boat ramp. My first tow on the ski

Was a bit disappointing that apparently a couple of boats left them because it was too 'far' for them to tow, and that even though we were towing, big boats still passed way too close (<10m).

Anyway all ended well and they were very appreciative

Dont touch your phone in the car! -just got nabbed (and no was not using the phone)

Tip for fellow Fishwreckers..

Picked up 250 fine today for touching (not answering) my mobile- thought it was worth sharing as the rules have changed and if it saves someone else a few bucks then i will feel better!
Was at the lights stuck in CBD traffic - lights changed to red - I was stopped and my phone was in the centre console drinks holder - i picked it up to lock it (blackberry and often if bumped will pocket call someone) put it back in console - lights still red, car still stopped - knock on the window from a Cop on a bike - he explained to me that you are not allowed to touch your phone at all when driving - 250 bucks and a fairly decent argument later i was on my way (now late) to a meeting.

guys in the office have found out and i am now friday fodder :-(

cheers
