THIEVING DOGS! Pic of Ski Biscuit Added
Submitted by sandbar on Tue, 2016-01-26 17:03Thanks to the farken arsehole/s that stole my kids xmas present today from pt kennedy beach. Never been used before 3man ski biscuit, 2 life jackets and 25mteres ski rope. Due to high wind we had to move and during this time we got robbed! Lowlifes! And my wife has blamed me for it and belted me with a cricket stump which has left me in rocko hospital for stitches....Happy Aussie Day?
This is the biscuit but Green if anyone hears of a cheap one or "found" one just lying on the beach.

Recent wind forecasts
Submitted by sea-kem on Mon, 2016-01-25 10:57 Is it just me or have the recent wind forecasts been very average. Only on the day does it seem to be even close to the prediction. I dunno maybe it's just my fishing frustration picking on the weather forecasters

Wanted people's thoughts of a Frazer western craft 525 with a 90 hp v4 evinrude on it , after looking at a heap of boats over the last couple of weeks inc mustang, swift craft , pacemaker a plethora of half cabins I think I have found what is in my needs. A western craft 525 with a big open deck which is what I really wanted not a half cabin with no deck. It seems the best and tidiest I gave seen, can any one tell me if they are a good ocean going boat please thanks

Catching crabs
Submitted by carnarvonite on Thu, 2016-01-14 15:43For the last few mornings I have been travelling round Mounts Bay road to Charlie Gardiner hospital and have noticed numerous boat fishing for crabs in close to shore and all in my opinion are doing it wrong.
Firstly, they are coming down wind [I know this is the easiest way to pick up the floats] and secondly, coming in with the sun behind them.
The reasons why are, coming down wind and with the sun behind you, it creates a shadow that goes over the pot and seconds later the actual boat and scares the crabs before you get to the floats resulting in any crabs on the edge of the pot to scarper.
Would be interesting if it is any of our members doing the crabbing to find out how they got on

Lost. Propeller
Submitted by Cruise Control on Mon, 2016-01-11 17:48A work colleague of my wife was fishing out of Karratha on Saturday and he lost his prop 10 Km's out. He had gone out for the day fishing with his wife and young kids (5 and 6) and had just pulled up when he has lost the prop.
Karratha Sea Rescue brought him in safely after a few hours wait. He was full of praise for their professionalism during the rescue operation.
So he lobs up to his mechanic to organise another prop only to be toLd there is a bit of this going on ? The mechanic is suggesting that more than one boat has lost their prop and that there have been instances of it up and down the coast. Rumour is that this is the latest from "tricksters" that think it might be funny to leave a boat without any means of propulsion on the water.
Dunno how true it is or if it's just a bit of an urban myth but if it is true I have to wonder how many brain cells are bouncing around in the empty containers that is the head of these "tricksters". I can't believe that they would endanger life so witlessly.
Has anyone else heard of this ?

Car fridges....which one?
Submitted by tadpole on Sun, 2016-01-10 23:02Hi guys, looking at getting a car fridge next month and was hoping for a bit of feedback on a few I'm eyeing off. Want an 80L so its big enough to cart shopping back from Kalgoorlie to Leinster.
First one I hav eyes on is a National Luna aluminium 80L. Heard good things about these, but quite pricey. ATOM supply stock them and as luck would have it I can get a 45% discount at ATOM through the mining company I work for, haven't got a quote as yet but should be around the $14-1500 mark working off its original RRP on the NL website. But could be more if ATOM do big mark ups. And I don't know what warranty I'd be getting till I ring.
http://www.nationalluna.com.au/80lt-fridge-alum/
Second is the mighty Engel. Looking at the MT80F model sold at Rays Outdoors in Kalgoorlie, advertised for $1799. 3 year warranty probably won't even come into play.
http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/Product/Engel-MT80F-Fridge-Freezer-80L/121476?menuFrom=5041140
Third is one I only just stumbled on while surfing through the Supercheap Auto website. And thats the Evakool Travelmate TMX75 retailing for $1399 but has a 5 year warranty. Uses the Danfoss BD35F compressor which I think Waeco use (or used to anyway).
My heart is leaning to the Engel because I know they are quality, my parents still use theirs which they've had for about 30 years now. But wouldn't mind hearing opinions. Not really interested in Waeco's as I've heard their insulation is pretty average but correct me if I'm wrong. And Rays only have them up to the CFX65 which isn't really big enough, and I'm not up for driving the 1800km round trip to Perth to get a bigger one
Cheers!

Busselton - any reports?
Submitted by Iceman on Tue, 2016-01-05 13:12Heading to Busselton in a couple of weeks and just wondering if there are any reports of what is being caught. Will be mostly landbased but my brother in law is taking his boat down and hope to get out a couple of days. Heard reports of a school of salmon being spotted down near Dunsborough.
Also are there any beaches that I can take my 4X4 on.

4x4 Advice!
Submitted by Bruce on Tue, 2016-01-05 08:39Morning fellas,
Currently looking to buy a 4x4 for purely offroad use. Looking to spend about 7k and was wondering what peoples choices would be. It will be my second vehicle so not really worried about fuel efficiency etc... Must have high/low range. Don't really mind 3 or 5 door either. Used mostly on the beach and through the dunes, and maybe on holidays up the coast!
On my hit-list are:
- Suzuki vitara's
- Kia sorento ~ 2004/5
- Jeep cherokee ~2001ish V8
- Landrover Discovery ~ 1999 V8
So basically, what would you be looking at for that budget?
Thanks boys!
