Peaceful Bay Boating
Submitted by Te Kaha on Wed, 2021-12-15 08:52Goodmorning ladies and gents
Im heading to Peacful bay in a couple of weeks and Im hoping someone can give me some direction on the fishing down there. Ill have a 4.5m boat, the dog and my partner so we wont be venturing to far out. We have 6 nights at the caravan park so fingers crossed theres a weather window to get out. I have read a few posts in the search column and understand Rame head could be good but I think it might be a bit far for the crew. If anyone has any info, tips, spots they are willing to share that would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is around down there at the time ill deff have a spare spot onboard as well.
Cheers !

Bait board problem
Submitted by Cameron71 on Sat, 2021-12-11 17:56Bait board problem
Hi everyone. I have bought an ocean south large bait board which is designed to fit into the rod holders at the back above the motor. My rod holders are on an angle learning a bit away from the boat like they usually are. As a result, the bait board isn't flat but is also leaning away from the boat. Am I making some sort of horrific newby mistake here? Or do I actually need to swap out my rod holders for the type that go straight down?
Thanks in advance

Crayfish heads
Submitted by Ericl on Sat, 2021-12-04 14:29Hi all
Caught a few crays and some have been steamed or boiled whole and then got as much meat out of the heads and legs, but not sure what to do with crays that I have removed the head and frozen tail only. I would imagine that head and legs only dont need to cook as long as whole crays ?
Up to now been mincing therm up and adding to burley but freezer cant take any more burleym and dont want to waste. Any suggestions - Cheers

Yellowtail Kings on a Fizzer
Submitted by beau on Mon, 2021-11-29 19:40Some of you may have seen on my last YTK report a comment from member NORUN NOFUN hoping I could test out a couple of his unique handmade timber lures on the local Kingfish population. I contacted him on his Facebook page "Scotty's Lures" and last week I flew home from work to find a neat package in the letterbox. To NORUN NOFUNs' credit, no more than 15hours from arriving in my letterbox, the lure was hanging from a fishes mouth. An explosion of whitewater erupted on the lure, the dual props proving irresistible to a pack of kings on the second cast of the morning.
Cheers Scotty for reaching out to me mate, really appreciate it and looking forward to getting out there again and giving it a flick.

Self centre trailer mods
Submitted by dale 308 on Sun, 2021-11-28 19:39I need too up date the rear of my trailer is a pain in the ass at the best of times and the transom or tapered bunk rollers are giving me hell so I was thinking of removing them and placing some of that blue bunk on either side angled towards the centre roller and replace centre roller with a self centre roller would that work. Crude drawing incoming

best outrigger base placement on hard cab- help please
Submitted by Quobbarockhopper on Sat, 2021-11-27 16:00Hey all
The boat Im currently building is getting close to being ready so now its down to the smaller parts of the fit out that I haven’t already planned (OCD a bit so theres not much!)
Im still not sure where the best place to mount the henderson outrigger bases I have (also pictured)- on the side of cab or top of the cab? And in each location, what is the best direction/ angle to mount them? Keeping in mind the bar work thats already there etc
I have some decent two peice outrigger poles and rigging gear so wouldnt be travelling with them installed much/ if at all
Im aware that the type of base limits options a little, but these things only get used a few times a year in reality so wasn’t too keen on $1.5K+ for a decent set of telescopic type bases
Attached are a couple of pics of the layout for reference
Any input from game fishing gurus would be awesome and appreciated- PMs welcome!
Cheers!

Steep Point December 2021
Submitted by buddharock on Sun, 2021-11-21 13:08Hi everyone,
Anyone been up to Steep recently? Just wanting to get a gauge on track conditions in and whether many fish have been around. Camping at Blackies for a week, early December and towing a 4.2m tinny in. Hoping to focus a fair bit on boat fishing, ballooning and off the rocks. I've spent hours combing the old threads, any other advice welcome.
Thanks
