Anyone from here loose an outboard cover???

On the side of the road, southbound in the last few days.

Either PM or leave a note on here with the details

It would be good for the rightfull owner to get it back, so if it isn,t yours and you know it isn,t yours, don,t waste your time or mine!!

uncle fishwrecked member gave me the best belly laugh i have had in ages

uncle sent me a pm saying he was sorry to hear about the accident I had at work. he went on to say he had had to give up targeting sambos due to his heart condition. I laughed and laughed. the last one I caught left me gasping for breath on the deck for 5 minutes so there it is boys and girls if you feeling your old "war" injuries or footy injuries or just feeling a bit old and have stopped trying to catch sambos your not the first bloke. I know I have. ha ha although dying fighting a big sambo might be a good way to go

Three kings nz jan 2014

Hi all I am planning a trip to nz for the first couple of weeks in jan 2014 for a mates wedding.the first thing I have decided is I would be crazy if I didn't do a three kings trip whilst I am in nz! So  I have been doing some research and have found that all the charters are mainly a per boat charter and not per person so my question I have is......is anyone else organising a trip around the same time that I could tag along with? Or does anyone else want to organise a trip to fill a boat? Any ways just putting it out there thanks for reading. Adam

sambo jigging combo

 hey guys

iv got my self a daiwa saltist ld 40 2 speed loaded up with 50lb braid. it is matched with a shimano t-curve 200 deep jig.

i want to get into more jigging and just wondering if this will stop a sambo of average size.

New boat finally!! (more pics)

Hi guys, just thought I would share a couple of pics of my new boat. she is a 2008 8.1m custom built Ali hardtop powered by a 250 yamaha 4 stroke ( 245hrs) 350l fuel tank and fitted with a Furuno 587 and tm 260, Humminbird matrix plotter, full L.E.D lighting including a forward facing L.E.D. lightbar on the roof thats like the sun, marine stereo and a Quick marine anchor winch which i fitted with 250m of 14mm rope and 10m of 8mm chain ( big thanks to Rhys at Taylor marine for the GREAT deal and Ben at fibrelite boats for the fitting of the 587 and 1kw tranny which needed a much larger ali bracket welded onto the transom, and Paul from Fremantle Trailers for giving the trailer a full workover with new axles, led lighting and full new braking system)

Anyway I had the maiden voyage last weekend with 4 mates (2 nights onboard river/rotto) not really a fishing trip just a few drinks and a good workout of my webber baby Q. So far very impressed with the ride (after 7 Ali boats its certainly a big change!) and the Furuno is top notch. Stay tuned for some blood on the decks posts as today is the first day of 2 weeks holiday!

Cheers ( as you can see I've named her after my favourite boat from deadliest catch!)

crocs traveling south

outdonit with his latest post got me thinking I do know a croc was photo'd in the tug pens at point sampsom ( I have them some where) and locals in Onslow have told me they have spotted them in Beadon creek I know there is a regular contributor to this site(cant think of his name) from the WA museum that is a fountain of information I was wondering if he could tell us how far they could get down south before its to cold for them for me they are scarier than sharks

catchalittle (Nathan)

as some of you fishwrecked members would know i was left partially disabled just over 3 years ago with a buggered left hand, arm and leg when a piece of equipment i was working on exploded up on the Burrup. Through this site i happened to meet catchalittle and because i cant make up my own rigs he took it upon himself to help me out.

He gave me a list of stuff he would need then just made up a shit load of rigs for me at no charge. Great stuff I say THATS WHAT BEING AN AUSSIE AND A FISHO is all about.  Jealous but his tackle room is like fishermans aladdins cave

Braid twist

Hey guys, heading up to exmouth in a few weeks, (can't wait). Was setting up my spin stick for lures and soft plastics, and was wondering if i need to run a swivel anywhere along my main line. I have 10kg braid on my reel, and will be casting all day. Will line twist be an issue? Any feedback would be awsome! Cheers Fab

Guilderton

Anybody know what water level is at Moore River ?.

buying a game reel

cockburn sound pick snapper

hey guys has anyone been catching any pinkies in the sound recently,  heading out for a drop tomorrow any advice for a sound novice cheers

pinks in close

Hi guys

Just thought I would let you know the pinkies have started coming in quite close off Busselton.

Went out last night and did well on skippy sambos and pinks.Big sambos chasing skippy right to the surface.

Unweighted mulies or skippy fillets drifted down in the burley trail doing the trick.

Latest Custom rod

Red Dragon Scale with Blue and Gold Chevron over the top. I still have to finish with more Epoxy so it's not the smoothest of finishes yet. A great rod for a TLD 15, Charter Special, Penn Squall, Saltist etc. for Chasing Mackerel with 20lb mono.
This one is up for grabs actually as I just felt like trying this pattern on a blank I have. Fuji Trigger seat with Fuji graphite Gimbal. Not my best effort this one but it came out ok in the end.

Blackwood river mulloway

Hi,

String of bad luck

Hey guys, I've been out fishing every friday for the last two months or more and have taken some mates out and trying to get them into fishing. The problem is, all my usual spots have gone quiet. Leighton beach usually fires for morning herring but my last 3 trips there have resulted in exactly 0 bites and 0 fish, I've been up to pinnaroo point near hillaries a few times with no luck, to trigg island on more than one occasion and once to the south mole, i went down to woodies point this morning to give it a crack too but didnt catch a bloody thing (except a handful of blowies)

Ive been using prawns and squid for herring, throwing jigs for squid and poppers/twisties for tailor.

Im asking for a favor here, can someone tell me where i can take a few friends for a good chance at some herring or squid or anything really? We're young so climbing over rocks and stuff isnt as issue. Of couse im not asking for secret locations but im getting bloody frustrated lol! Please send me a PM if you're willing to give me a hand!

Cheers fellas!

Oceanside Tackle

Just wanted to say a huge thankyou to Blake and Josh with their help at the store today.

Always interested and keen to help whenever I go, and prefer the drive for that type of service.
Again thanks lads and keen to get out and try the gear and info.

Tailor Fishing Kalbarri

Chasing a little info on tailor fishing in Kalbarri

A bloke i work with is heading up there tomorrow, and I've just kitted him up with some gear to have a crack for some tailor. He is heading up with his wife and kids and doesnt really want to fish the cliffs and rocks.

Anyone able to recommend areas that would be worth a crack from the beach?

Iv'e told him to try south of Kalbarri  at port gregory and lucky bay (He is a SR5 so no dramas ont he beach)

I've not personally fished Kalbarri so wouldnt know what beaches if any would be any good for tailor.

Cheers

Bodie

Squid Jigs

 Hi guys,

just woundering what squid jigs work best in different conditions.(what colours)

cheers, Charlie.

Popping/stickbaiting sambos

Anyone done much in the way of chasing sambos on popping/stickbait gear?  Thinking of giving it a try tomorrow for something different.  I know I can get them jigging, but thinking a fast sinking stick shadd on my PE8 popping gear would be interesting.

Anyone?
