Submitted by tailor marc on Fri, 2011-07-01 13:23Well im finally back from my huge road trip.
Left Perth at 3 am and arrived in exmouth at 5.30pm. We had the next full day planned to head out to the ningaloo reef to swim with the whalesharks with 3 island whaleshark dive. I highly recomend them to anybody. Picked up at 7.30 from the potshot and snorkle some of the shelterd reefs then have breaky then head out to the whalesharks. Swam with them all day then had lunch then dropped back to the potshot at 5.30pm! Great day. Here are some of the pics....

Daiwa Combi Jerk 64 for poppers?
Submitted by symetre on Fri, 2011-07-01 10:12Gday all,
What re peoples thoughts on using the Daiwa Combi Jerk 64's for poppers. Would the length at 6ft 4inches be too short for popper work or ok?
I love the look of these rods for everything else, bottom bashing, plastics, light jigging, so just wondering if they tick the popper box aswell?
For the record ill be using smaller poppers, Williamson 5 1/4 inch jet poppers etc, chasing rat kingies.
Im looking the Saltiga CJ, Catalina CJ or the Demon Blood CJ specifically.
Appreciate any opinions?

Just wondering whats the biggest mulloway caught in WA ? i think Australia wide its 42.5kg i read in an article a while ago. just interested to see WA's record. i also read that back several decades ago a man caught one on his left over lamb chops after running out of bait and apparently the fish was around 40 kg plus lol..

Kalbarri next week
Submitted by jeremy-j on Thu, 2011-06-30 07:24Hi Guys,
Im heading up to Kalbarri next thursday with my partner and i was wondering if anyone knew what the fishing has been like recenty. Obviously with the more recent storm and weather conditions im guessing it will be hard for people to get out but any info on before the weather turning sour would be sweet.
I have been up there a fair bit over the past few years so i have an idea of some spots just want to know what has been firing(when its fishable). I will be land based and have a range of gear to cover me.
Also if anyone knows if Finlays will be open as i promised last time i would take my over half there and didnt.
cheers.

buyin fishing gear online
Submitted by JIM1 on Wed, 2011-06-29 19:49anyone been doing a bit of online shopping latley? big fan or like to shop local? picked up a 1300yd spool of big game for $18 the other day and just found some good looking squid jigs for about $1 each. i try to keep the purchases low incase it turns out to be a really crap item but ive also found alot of things not on offer in aus, keep the big ticket items for actual stores to help if a warrenty problem pops up/getting the real mcoy.

I've got a Garmin 400c with instructions & I have no idea how to read it. It's a bit embarassing really, but I need help.
Maybe with this knowledge, i will finally catch me a fish or two.
Thanks in advance.
