I’m on holiday in Kalbarri, been fishing a few times in the river and only go half a dozen tailor and yellowfin bream, all about 15cm long.
Any suggestions on places or bait to use?

Eagles vs. Melbourne tickets wanted
Submitted by davewillo on Wed, 2018-09-19 11:00Tried desparately to get tickets when they were released but no joy. Will try again tomorrow when extras are released. If anyone ends up buying extras I'll take them for sure. Trying to cheer up some family members after a very tough couple of weeks.

Boat fishing numbers down?
Submitted by SeperateKnob on Tue, 2018-09-18 10:43Over the last 6 months worth of boat fishing outitings (at least once a fortnight) in fantastic boating weather and I've noticed very few boats out (Cockburn snapper run aside).
Are there less people fishing from boats these days? maybe due to rising fuel prices and boat ownership costs?

Safety Bay Foreshore Rally
Submitted by Tom M on Mon, 2018-09-17 16:38For all fishermen who use the Bent Street Ramp or local residents concernded about the state of the Safety Bay Foreshore, The Pond and boat access there is a meeting on the foreshore at the Bent Street ramp with council reps, WA Water Corp, WA Health Dept and DPAW invited to attend. The meeting will take place on the 4th October at 4pm. While boaties have noticed access through the channel is near non existant the attached photo shows the slime build up in the pond at present that is clearly visible at low tide. Would not be eating anything out of that water be it fish or crabs, but that is just my opinion.
A great response from locals to date on FB page Clean up our Coast.

Newby Boaters - OMG
Submitted by crasny1 on Mon, 2018-09-17 12:15I am very fortunate to have moved onto the Mandurah canals a year ago. And have enjoyed this greatly.
In the last 2 months an elderly neighbour put his house on the market and finally sold it to overseas buyer's moving to Oz.
He had a 26ft odd Glasscraft on a lifter which he also sold to them as a package.
They came down after one passed his skippers ticket 1 week ago.
I noticed they struggled to get the boat on the lifter so went over to help and they asked where do you get fish. I explained a few general spots fairly close in to discover to my horror they went 50k's out trying to fish as newby's. Needles without any spots nor sounder knowledge they caught SFA.
I certainly explained how risky this was as they didn't even log on etc etc.
After my explaining I think they might stay close in and chase some whiting instead whilst they get experience. Bloody lucky the wind didn't pick up. They did not know about broaching etc in a following sea.
Wow is all I can say.

underfloor fuel tank upgrade advice
Submitted by Joshua.cummins on Sun, 2018-09-16 18:16Hi guys, I've recently started doing alot of longer range fishing trips and am investigating the possiblity of upgrading my boats underfloor fuel tank from 265lts tank to something around 450lts.
My boat is a 7.5m hardtop ali, twin 150hp the current fuel tank in the usual spot (aft area running port to stb). My ambition is to also use the tank upgrade to also improve my boats stability whilst static and underway if possible. My intiatal thought is to remove my current tank and put the new tank in the running along the keel up to about midships, to me this would lower the center of gravity whilst moving and fishing. and I'd like to have longitudinal kill tanks running each side of the fuel tank that are also floodable at rest (I understand that stability will vary as fuel is used, but my current tank I believe has limited stability improvements all together being down the back and running port to aft).
If anyone one has any knowledge / advice on this topic or can recommend someone to do the work, I'd love to hear it before I commit to the project $$$

Exmouth King Reef
Submitted by Rodrat on Sun, 2018-09-16 16:40Hi All
Has anyone fished the new artificial reef in Exmouth yet?
I have viewed some footage from the Perth now website and it looks like cod and snapper are calling it home already
since being sunk in June. Reports I've heard say tuna and school mackerel are hanging around.
I'm heading up in a couple of weeks and will give it a try.
Tight lines all :)

cruise craft REEF RAIDER 166
Submitted by Big Damo on Sat, 2018-09-15 10:21Does anyone know if the cruise craft reef raider 166 is any good?
I am looking at one in pretty good condition for its age with a 90hp yamaha 2 stroke on it (2010) 180hrs and im just curious if anyone has any experience with them. I have been told that boats with chines dont handle that well..... if anyone could give me some feedback or personal experiences that would be great.

Tekjonsha P3 brake controller
Submitted by Prego on Fri, 2018-09-14 10:41I've had a Tekonsha P3 controller for about 4 years. All has been good but now all the lighhts on the trailer go out when I touch the brakes. Have checked all the cables and all is good except theres power coming back from the controller to the negative battery terminal (via the cable direct from the controller).
I've met one friend who had their tekonsha controller replaced because it developed an earth. Anyone else had similaar probs? Any suggestion on proving this problem to be the controller? what's the best controller - Red arc?
Thanks,
Trevor

Pingers
Submitted by poopants on Thu, 2018-09-13 12:01So i go out to one of my secret spots yesterday and within 10 mins all these idiots turned up and pinged my spot. Listen Sheeple there is plenty of ocean out there and if you have to resort to hammering spawners maybe think about trading in the old cuddy cab and getting taking up beach fishing.
