What is it with some people
Submitted by meglodon on Sat, 2018-08-04 17:50I see it again some mayor from god only knows where is telling the premier of our state what a fool he is for not putting in smart drum lines.
I would have thought that this guy would have had enough to do without lecturing our premier about what should be done in the west regarding sharks of our coast, I can't help but wondering just how many small town places on the eastern sea board the west Australian news paper had to contact until they got one that agreed with their view on smart brum lines for sharks
IMO the west news paper seem to have the idea that they know what is best for the population of West Australia never mind about who is elected to govern our state and don't let democracy get in the road of us trying to sway the general population to the way we believe things should be done.
If some political party wants to make the drum line caper an election issue at the next state election then so be it, I don't think west aussies need some hero in his own lunch box telling us what we should or shouldn't do here in the west and have that view pumped up by a news paper which appoints it's self as the voice of all west Australians.
Rant over

bags vs eskis.
Submitted by Sea goat on Fri, 2018-08-03 10:27hey guys.
been reading ur posts and these bags seem pretty popular. I currently have an eski, but am thinking about getting one of the cooler bags instead.
just wondering what makes people choose them over an eski? any issues with spines etc wrecking the bag? and how do they go with crays/crabs etc?
my current eski is pretty bulky, so can see the advantage of saving some space...just curious as to what other advantages/disadvantages people find?
cheers!

Why upgrade to a Sustain from Stradic CI4
Submitted by crasny1 on Mon, 2018-07-30 07:54Hi Wreckers
Just an opinion.
Cant see why you would pay ~$150 extra for a slightly lighter, one ball bearing extra reel from Stradic CI4 to a Sustain HG. The handle on the Stradic "feels" better in my opinion as well.
Am I missing something here.
Lost a rod/reel combo overboard with a Sustain 2500 (Not happy Jan!!) and wanting to replace that, and add another light weight whiting popper combo to the list. Doing that with Sustains and quality rods prob ~$1300, Stradic CI4's with identical rods ~$1000.
Cheers

Shark Bay worth fishing in September?
Submitted by blu2fish on Wed, 2018-07-25 14:25I'm tossing up between a trip tp Denham or Exmouth early in September, have fished Exxie (shark heaven) between March and November over the last 12 years and know what to expect, been to Denham a couple of times but not in September so was wondering if it would be worth going there instead of the trek to Exmouth, would appreciate a few opinions from those that have done this.
