Newby to Hedland
Submitted by Chops79 on Mon, 2014-02-17 18:48G'Day Guys
New to Hedland with the family and decided to go and have a bit of a flick down at 4 mile tomorrow on the tide change with some softies.
Untill the minister of war and finance lets me get a boat stuck to the shores.
If anyone has any tips of good spots around let me know, or even better if you wanna catch up and have a couple of coldies and enjoy the fishing will be good also.
Cheers in advance

Solo Mission
Submitted by Brucesta on Thu, 2013-12-19 12:08Did a solo trip after getting back from offshore on Monday doing an overnighter at Rosemary and then heading for some northwest deep drop fishing (deeper than 50m) drove for 3.5 hours total to fish for 25 mins and used 9 bits of bait, reds went to 680mm and the rankins where some of the biggest i have caught and went 760mm.
Also a couple of nice fish on the jigs on a little playa round session at the start of the month while i am at it, on 30lb braid and no sharks around thankfully

Coral Bay October Trip Report
Submitted by Mason85 on Mon, 2013-11-18 08:01So our annual month pilgrimage to Coral Bay is done and dusted for another year. Overall, not a bad trip, except for the wind which blew its arse out for 2/3rds of the month. Wont be organising a month there in Oct again, prob move back to April. Didnt get as many fish as normal due to this fact, as well as the ever present man in the grey suit, but still got some good quality fish.
The first week there was little to no action on the water as 20kn+ winds kept us fairly well planted in the pub. Did get out for a couple days though with little success. The next couple weeks turned into a bit of a blur, with mates and family all coming to visit, as well as some pretty good days on the water.
As per usual, the wife out fished everyone else, or should i say, she was in all the photos with good fish haha.
Cant wait for next april now with the new boat!!
Anyway heres some photos of some of the fish we caught.
The missus with a nice haul
Nice Rankin i got
Mates missus with her first red (caught in 18m of water!!)
Some nice goldbands
Missus with a horse goldband
Mate with a nice cobia
Horse spango
Good half day out
My best red for the trip
Windy day
So all in all a pretty good trip and cant wait for next time.

Not quite the pilbara........but WA
Submitted by POC on Fri, 2013-11-15 12:04Snuck up to the Ord for a trip early September on neaps for a few days fishing the mouth and surrounding creeks.
Although the ambient temperature was down a bit, which made sleeping at night bearable there were still a few fish around.
Being our third trip down we had a few favourite spot to try, but alas most of them weren’t holding fish as expected.
So we had to do a bit more exploring and brainstorming sessions to figure out where our quarry was hold up.
We did the usual looking for bait searching snags and looking for warmer water and back eddies.
As the tide moved further into the neaps and tactics altered slightly for the different conditions we landed a few nice fish for the trip.
A few shots below Enjoy
Biggest fish was a 103cm model but most around the high 80’s
All fish were released :)

Submitted by woftam123 on Wed, 2013-10-02 00:39G'day All,
Second go round........Am going to be in Onslow next week, never fished here. Have few basic suggestions as going to be mainly land based but
(unless theres a generous bast*rd floating out there!!) seriously looking to thumb a ride out wide (or even a little wide!!) if anyone has the deck space.
Can hold my own and more than happy to contribute to fuel, beers etc etc.
PM me if can help. Thanks!

Onslow Fishing
Submitted by woftam123 on Thu, 2013-09-26 14:00G'day guys,
Heading to Onslow with my old man to catch up with one of his old work mates. Unfortunately will be the second week of
school holidays but any time you're offered free accomodation who's going to knock it back?!! Don't have access to a boat
so was interested in shore based alternatives? Have fished from Kalbarri to Exmouth but never at Onslow. Any suggestions
and advice would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has a spare spot on board during this time am happy to help out with fuel
costs etc. just to get out there!! Thanks

Goldband's in Dampier and Other Tasty Treats
Submitted by Brucesta on Thu, 2013-08-22 09:23Got out on Monday morning really early to do a freezer filling trip as the stocks of fish where running low. got 90 mins of fishing in before high tide at 9am and we bagged out. Best bit was the two pleasent suprises that graced the decks proving it was no fluke that being a couple of Gold Band Snapper! never heard of them being caught off Damps before so a new species ticked off the list and tasted bloody great too!

Kimberley pics and film
Submitted by field on Fri, 2013-08-09 09:04Just back from another sortie thru the wilds, this time we went to the Prince Regent River mouth before turning around due to dwindling fuel reserves.
Also knocked up a little film clip while sitting out no water up mangrove creeks, caught some great footage of a baby humpback and mum jumping around the boat, she swam under us before doing her leap, wish i had snapped a pic of the sounder!

After much prodding and requests we will be running organised commercial convoys into the area, one in 8 weeks time (2 spots left) and several more next year, mostly to Talbot Bay and Horizontal Falls, but some venturing further to Raft Point and PRR. You can email me for details at info@wetspotcharters.com.au or phone 0425 123451.
