Any auto sparkies answer a quick question?
Submitted by sstevee on Thu, 2013-08-01 10:36Hi fellas,
So I picked up a new colorado a couple of days back and I'm gonna wire up some spotties. However I just wanted to ask any auto sparkies if there can be any problems with tapping into the high beam feed at the back of the headlights?... I've had a read of a few forums and I wanna make sure that it won't cause any dramas with the ecu's in the car... I've read that the amarok has a few dedicated plugs under the dash for picking up feeds specifically to avoid dramas with the canbus(?!?!)... Curious to see if anyone knows of similar for the colorado.
Ive wired up spots in the past and don't have any dramas with stripping and soldering to the existing wire, or getting through grommets, but I just wanna make sure I don't make an expensive mistake with all this fancy ecu crap.
Much appreciated
Steve

Formula 233 - refurbished
Submitted by bradz on Wed, 2013-07-31 11:52Hi guys
I have always like the old Formula 233 models. Forget about the Eden Crafts and more recent models from Australia which weigh about 3.5 tonne on a trailer. I have access to a fully rebuilt Formula 233 (from the US). It will have a 250hp 4 stroke Suzuki for about $43k landed with an Aussie spec trailer.
The floor, stringers and transom have all been redone. The gelcoat has either been refurbed brilliantly or it has been repainted.
The good thing about the older models is that, believe it or not, the hull only weighed about 2tonne with twin 6cyl sterndrives. So, on an Ali trailer with a 4 stroke should be around the 2.5tonne mark.
Looking for your input.
Do you think it would hold its value?
Cheers
Brad

ID This Goldn Oldie
Submitted by Gusthewonderslug on Wed, 2013-07-31 08:58Hi all new the Fishwrecked.
Can anyone assist in ID ing my Goldn Oldy.
We thought it was a Stebercraft and Old Bruce Steber (80yo) Confirmed it wsnt one of his, a friend of mine thinks its is a Penguin Contender.
the stern is very similar to a Ramsay or a clinker Swiftcraft
I have checked it out from stem to stern and cant find any ID, I dont think its a one off due to the quality of the finish and detail in the build.
It was apparently brought in 68 and has been a one owner since new and lived its life in a shed, the owners daughetr tells me it has no more than 150 hrs on the motor. The donk is a Evinrude Lark x 40 HP Electroshift tht looks like new. Im in the process of recommissioning her but in reality it only needs some wiring , a polish, new cushion covers and a new screen.
any assistance is appreciated.
Gus

Polarised glasses
Submitted by fisharoo on Mon, 2013-07-22 19:10Gonna buy a new pair of polarised glasses. I need info on the lens colour for the canning river. I read all these awesome reviews about them and show how you can see through the water. I have these bolle ones with black lens and can't seem to see anything in brown canning water, it's seems ok for say bright conditions from the rocks at freo. Does different coloured lens makes difference? Or what is the best ones for brown water?
Thanks in advance fellas.

Under gunnel LED lightintg
Submitted by sunshine on Mon, 2013-07-22 10:11I have done the search of the site but can only find one picture of a members boat and haven't seen many at night using the system.
Question:- red, white or blue lighting - obviously red would be better for night vision but does anyone on this site have photos or can recount their experience ?
Any brands recommended (or found unsuitable so I might rule them out of my list) - how much needed in metres for a satisfactory result as it seems to come in 500mm, 1 metre or longer lengths and how waterproof is it
Any feedback or advice would be very much appreciated
