Question
Submitted by sea-kem on Sun, 2011-03-27 17:20Just in the process of making up some paternosters for the coming trip up north. Was going to use 150lb mono leader with the armour spring over the loop to hook connection but the biggest i can find is 2mm and it doesn't fit. Now looking at 100lb mono leader which works a treat. The question is would you guys use the 100lb leader considering the beasts that are likely to bite up there? Any feed back appreciated also any other ideas. Trying to minimise as many swivel connections as i can as you all know these are where breaks are most likely to occur.

Aluminium checker plate
Submitted by mrwinta on Sat, 2011-03-26 00:44Does anyone know where to buy 2400x1200x2mm 5 bar ally sheets from preferably Rockingham ish and any ideas on price per sheet? I made a cage / frame for my 8x4 trailer to carry the tinny and camping gear and wanted a canvas to be fitted over it like the tray back utes with the canvas canopys but I was quoted 1200 bucks so I'm thinking of taking off the mesh and fitting ally to it instead....

Congratulations to Feral: winner of the XT27litre
Submitted by Xtreme Coolers on Fri, 2011-03-25 17:47Hi all
Just drew out Feral as the winner of the XT27litre valued at $90.00. This was the draw for all FW members who came to the Caravan and camping show last week.
All FW members who purchased at the show went into the draw and Feral was drawn out tonight as the winner.
Well done mate and i hope you can put it to good use.
It was great to meet a few more FW members.
See you up in Geraldton next month.

Submitted by Timmo on Fri, 2011-03-25 09:48Anybody watch the cricket last night?
good on the punter for his 100 but i think he was selfish not smacking it till he got his 100. They had many wickets in hand and left the powerplay too late. Oh and Tait WTF is the selectors thinking 5 wides in one over??? Just my little rant!

Overseas vs Domestic Pricing
Submitted by aaasnapper on Tue, 2011-03-22 12:48Just my two bob worth for Today.
Last year I found a great website in the US where I could purchase spare parts for my Boat motor at about half the price (inc. shipping) then what is being charged here in OZ.
On the same website you can purchase outboard motors. The pricing is as follows 150HP yami 4 st $11K in US, $22 in Australia. So I sent an email to get a quote for shipping to which the reply was we are not allowed to ship to Australia due to supplier agreements.
What is going on here???
So who are these supplier agreements protecting and who is the fat cat reaping these massisve profits.
I do believe Australia have a free trade agreements in place with alot of contries and i would be interested to know if this breaks the rules.
How come the prices have not come down with the Aussie dollar being so strong, who is getting rich from these scams?

thanks DHL. warning . what do you guys think?
Submitted by grayzeee on Tue, 2011-03-22 08:47i bought a jig bag through e bay 2 months ago from jdm for 25 bucks
shipped via dhl for 26 bucks
bag arrived two months ago , everybody's happy.
just got back from japan holiday to find a letter from DHL asking for a further 47 bucks for a "quaranteen processing fee"!
WTF?
i'd understand if i'd shipped a sea container full , but a half a kilo satchell???
have had customs open stuff and re seal with no probs or charges before.
bag didn't look opened.
on the back of the letter it states to speed things up , they have already paid aus customs and now i owe them
which hole ,do you think , i should ask them to stuff their fee up?????

The official footy thread for 2011!!
Submitted by PattyT on Sun, 2011-03-20 17:15I had a look to see if someone had started a similar thread but couldnt find anything... so here it is!!
I have really missed footy this off season and I cant wait for it to start. In my opinion its Collingwoods to lose, but there will be alot of interesting things to unfold this yr as per usual. As a Bombers supporter im pretty excited to see how we'll go, cant see us winning to many in the first five though.
My top 8
Collingwood (Premiers)
Hawthorn
St kilda
Bulldogs
Geelong
Fremantle
Carlton
Adelaide
Goddard is a star and my favourite player in the afl, I can see him winning the brownlow this yr.
Love to talk footy and here some of my fellow fishwrecked members views on the upcoming season
NOT LONG TO GO!!
GO DONS!

they got their hands on enough chemicals to make bombs / Molotov cocktails and battle the police,
YET the Labor idiots, Greens and other feel-good types want these people to get in and become part of our society!!!
What really hurts me, is my sister flies back to RSA Saturday, been here on a 3 month holiday. She would love to live and work here and make her part of society productive, yet we can't get her or her twin sister & husband & baby in as they are un-skilled.
Oh my family speaks English, has high school education to year 12 and one has two years of courses to TAFE level, yet as 35 year old people capable of working and adding value to Australia, we can't get them in...
and these pricks pay a few thousand dollars to a smuggler and get a free pass in !!!
Sorry this is just to close to home for me and too see them get away with that behavior is cr@p. They want refuge in our country, yet will use violence to convince us to let them in!!!
Are they refugee’s or are they hostile invaders????

seen the craziest thing today
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Wed, 2011-03-16 20:11On the way home from the cafe , turning onto Tonkin Hwy i saw this purple landcruiser ute driving on a bit of a lean, on closer look he had a totally blown rear tyre and was driving on the rim.
Thought he was pulling over but he just kept going on down the emergency lane. came up to Hale Rd lights and sure enough he pulled up in the breakdown lane right next to a truck. He still kept going to my surprise, as we pulled up at Welshpool Rd lights he came along only about 30 seconds later turning up Welshpool rd. i dont know how far he had driven like this but its far enough from Roe Hwy to Welshpool Rd.
Thought the guy was a bloody idiot and couldnt believe it. where are the cops when you see something like this. not only is he ruining his car but putting others in danger as it would be so easy to loose control . the rim was totally rs when he went past us
