Sunday session

Had some fun today with the cruddiest lure you could use which I found washed up on the beach. Along with a few taken on baitThese ones go hard on light gear . Lost a couple of macks and got 1 small one on a slice

Fishing for the future

Went down for a couple of hours today despite the howling winds . Only 1 Queenie on the popper then started fishing for the future. Future feeds that is and got my limit on tasty whiting

Lowrance NMEA 2000 extension cable

Hi all just a quick note to see if anyone has an extension cable for the NMEA port on lowrance sounder old combo. On my old combo it connects to my external gps aerial. Both ends are the same with a small black plug with female connections which plugs into the red network plug in the photo (if I have uploaded it correctly)
My old cable has deteriorated and has an intermittent short in it somewhere.
Cheers Brad

Last one - Stagg Boats

Yep, me again.

I have asked about Trailcraft and Oceanic (Bill Plug) boats though has anyone got experience with a Stagg boat?

Again, looking at a 7m hull...

Fun session

Wasn't out long but had some fun on light gear . Small Mackies and queenies about . Landed 3 fish and lost a few more

Eco Beach - same weather as Perth ……. Almost

Checked in yesterday after a few weeks on the Gibb and elsewhere - here for week on wife’s request - don’t think I will get bored, heaps of bird action on the water (and poolside too!)

Rd 18

Well game of the round is Adelaide and WC.....

Tough one to pick, if the Eagles can kick more than 3 goals they are a chance of a win but on recent form you wouldn't be including them in a multi....

This morning the Hawks were paying $9 against the Dees..... The Dees being Melbourne, Melbourne being the shittest club in the history of shitness....

Does anyone else get the feeling that the wheel nuts will start to loosen and the closer Melbourne get to the big dance the more chance they'll have of smacking into a Karri tree at 110km/h when all 4 wheels go flying into the scrub....

Dogs/Cats GF.....

The roughie for me this week is Nth to roll the Bombers who might get knocked back a peg but don't listen to me my footy tipping has been ratshit this year.....

Carn the Hawks......

Oh and Frost.... Gaff wont free up anywhere near enough Cap space for your club to do anything in the next few years, like what does that achieve having 800k in the pool but losing a player like him....

I disagree with your comments that he is not one of your better ball users, I'm not talkin in the last month I'm taking a snap shot of his career....

Shame you can't have another half a dozen Liam Ryans......

Dont suppose anyone would have two spare tix for the WC Stk game next week assuming it goes ahead, I wouldn't mind taking my 6 year old little sports nut son....

The Staircase

For people who have seen the series The Staircase on Netflix I'm interested to hear peoples opinions on if they think if he is guilty or not? I was thinking guilty but if that's the case how is there not blood at the top of the stairs where she would have been hit on the head and also not really a guaranteed why to murder someone.

What other than plywood?

I need to cut out and replace a piece of playwood in the bow of the boat and was recently told of a product other than marine ply that people are using for decks? It was a plastic/timber product but cant remember what it was called?

Does anyone have an idea on what it could be?

Comes in sheets like ply

Trailcraft 6800 Sportscab or Oceanic 6.8 Hard Top

Howdy Folks

Does anyone within this group own either of these boats?

Caravan has sold and we have narrowed down the plans to either of those two though wish to have first hand owners feedback.

Yes, i know the Trailcraft have a low deadrise and are light boats though I have had a tinny and the 6m pacemaker centre console is light and needs to be treated like a tinny ie dont go out if the weather is shit as we will get wet and I will be the first to spew.

Ultimately, we are looking at something to camp on/in and do some island hopping.

Smoked Ribs

Finally came across some decent meaty ribs and with no junior footy decided to dedicate my Sunday to some low and slow smoking.

Pulled the membrane off and applied a mild chilli texas rub and chucked them into the Hark with some apple branch offcuts and will keep feeding it with mesquite wood chips for 3 hours until the next step.

The Hark has been modified so that the Auber PID controller keeps the temp at a rock solid 225F with tbe probe at meat level. I've also got the Maverick probe in there to keep an eye on the temp.

Rd 17

 Surely North start as favourites?

I'm hearing Ross Lyon has given his Tennant's notice as he's the unbackable favourite to take over from Simpson.

She'll be a loooong rd ahead with the big dogs at the eagles on the big bucks...

APP Development

Does anyone have any experience or contacts for APP development?

Looking to do something fishing club based.

Knife Maker Perth

I have a boning knife gifted to me from my 89y old Pop and the story goes that Pop found this in a bonfire up at Yardi and being of strong Scottish decent he kept it and fashioned a new handle out of ali tube and recently gave it to me along with a few other items.

I'd love to get it set into a new handle and polished up for sentimental reasons and show him the finished product.

Does anyone know of a good local knife maker that could help out?

Cheers JF

Job Keeper

So who got stung by the ATO with there new payg payments ?

Mongrels give with one hand tell you to spend up and then smash you the next year with tax , no wonder the country is f&^ked with pin heads like scomo running it.

Home Solar

With the Mrs working from home 1/2 the week I am finally going to get some solar panels for the roof and lucky enough to be a higher elevation than my northern neighbour with no trees or shading.

Looking at a 6.6kw system and narrowed it down to either Infinite Energy based on reviews here or Termico who Dad has used twice. The prices below are before I've started getting them to sharpen the pencil:

Termico
6.66kw Goodwe - Risen 370Wx18 $3090
6.66kw Fronius - Risen 370Wx18         $4000
Infinite Energy
6.66kw Fronius - Canadian Solar 370Wx18 $5300

The question is.... is the Fronius worth the extra $1k and are the Canadian Solar panels worth an extra $1.3k over the Risen panel so hoping a few on here have had experience with the above products.

Cheers

First couple for the season

Started with the wind blowing around the 15 knots so couldn't fish my usual spots but ended up with a couple of small Queenie on popper as well as hooking up to a 3 foot shark on popper which spat the hooks right on the shore line.

Moved location once the wind dropped and ended with a couple of salmon for the season to end the day. No whiting around but still got a feed and chill out time

Drone - Need pointing in right direction

 Gday Fellas,

Looking at going halvies with a mate in a drone.

Not doing anything hardcore just what I guess I'd call the usual drone action.

The usual camp pics, exploring a bit when away, maybe looking for pigs, goats when hunting so a bit of range would be handy but yeah not looking for the top shelf models as I'd imagine like most owners it wont get used very much...

So if there are any experts on here that can recommend a good model in the mid price range that would be good.

Cheers...

Buck

Good to see the Pies get the win yesterday.

Doesn't seem like there are any winners out of this scenario.

Quiet day

Not much happening as far as big stuff goes but got a feed of whiting while chilling out on the beach with no wind .

Boat building advice needed

 Hi all,

I have decided to get a new ally boat built. Idea is to get a 7.6m islander cab. Seriously considering going with Genesis Craft for various reasons.

Just want to see if anyone out there has any advice for or against using Genesis. It is a big investment and I want to make the right decision here.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Shore Catch to Open at 34 Prindiville Drive Wangara on Friday 11 June

Shore Catch advises that it will relocate to 2A / 34 Prindiville Drive Wangara (approximately 600 metres from our existing site) and be open for business at 9.30am on Friday 11 June 2021, barring any unforeseen circumstances during our move today.

It has been a monumental effort to have the showroom ready to open within two weeks of taking possession of the property and we are indebted to the many people that assisted us to complete so much work in such a short time.  Particular thanks must go to Frank and Luke (building works), Steve (electrical works), Brett and Tami (signage works), Paul and Tim (product works), Nathon (graphic design), Nathan (transport works) and Ash (property management approvals for works).

Please note that our telephone service will not be operational until Monday however we can be contacted on 0419 772 011 or 0408 772 082 over the period.  We will shortly update all our new business information on Google, and over the next few weeks update the website to include the new products that we will stock.  Of course, we will require a few weeks to fully fit out.

We are very happy with how the site has developed, and look forward to welcoming you to our new showroom soon.
