Storm Garfish Season Starting
Submitted by Mick C on Sun, 2017-07-02 11:40It is the time of year when storm garfish are starting to become available at market. The numbers are fairly low now (Friday's image below), but should increase in the coming months.

Based on previous experience, demand for big storm gardies significantly exceeds supply. They are not generally caught by professional fisherman in large enough volume for pallet lots, so the number of suppliers become limited and there is little availability.
Shore Catch is offering a service where you can pre-order storm garfish and we will supply when they become available. We are currently keeping a list of customers on a “first in first served” basis and you just need to contact us to be added to the list. There is no guarantee of exactly when we will be able to supply but we will communicate with you about your order.
All fish are purchased market fresh, graded, vacuum sealed (100 micron bags) and snap frozen. They are currently in 2 size classes – XL (3-5 fish per kg) and L (6-8 fish per kg), which are packed in 1kg lots and price is $25. If stored appropriately the packs will last for a few years.
We trust this is a service that will be of value, and look forward to working with you for your high quality storm garfish needs.

Vertical storage rod holders
Submitted by Superfish on Sun, 2017-07-02 08:47Looking to install some rod holders on the side of my boat to look after my rods and keep them off the floor. Would like the holder to hold at least six rods.
If any of you have a good one please let me know the brand name and where you purchased it?
Any help is much appreciated.

Leeman Trip
Submitted by teamjelly on Fri, 2017-06-30 22:27Hey there Team, heading up to Denham for a few days in August but have 4/5 days in Leeman on the way up. First time taking the boat off there, probably been asked to death here but any pointers? Heard some crew say to head north from boat ramp once navigated out the markers is a good start?? Need to take Burley or just Drift is better?
Thanks in advance. Hopefully the weather plays nice.

Weather on Sunday 2nd Jul
Submitted by stumpie on Fri, 2017-06-30 17:04Just had a look at the forecast for Sunday, winds are low but the swell seems quite high at 2.5m according to meteye in the morning. Fish Ranger seems to be forecasting lower swells.
What do the more experienced people here think?

3/4" / 19mm Tube Bender
Submitted by Darren253 on Fri, 2017-06-30 14:06Looking to makeup a rear shade frame using 3/4" stainless steel tubing. Does anyone have or know of a 19mm (3/4") heavy duty tube/conduit bender I can borrow or rent using the beer economy?
The cheap hand held ones are only good for Ali or Copper according to the reviews.

Daiwa Gurus-any advice: larger capacity spool for old model certate 3012?
Submitted by Quobbarockhopper on Fri, 2017-06-30 11:06hey all
Just wondering if anyone knows for certain if its possible to swap a 3012 (older model- not the black recent release) spool on a certate out for a larger capacity spool?
have googled it all but the information seems conflicting... can anyone confirm definately if there are options (Certate standard, SOM, other) for a deeper/ more capacity spool change out?
Even better, if it is possible and someone has one lying around, would be def keen to buy it
and yes, I should have purchased a larger capacity 3000, but I bought it off here for a very good price so thought it was well worth the compromise. If not, looks like im buying top shelf ultra thin braid for it from here on in and tyring to cram as much on as possible as an alternative
cheers in advance!

Sold out by Labor
Submitted by ranmar850 on Thu, 2017-06-29 15:24That lying C*nt Saffiotti has refused to meet with the coastal staions over the land grab, says the process will continue as under the Libs. This, after making out to be all supportive of them in the year leading up to the state election. F*co the lot of them, end of Ningaloo and Waroora as we know it.

I am heading to Margaret River with family and Grandchildren next Friday for a week and am hoping to do a bit of LB Herring fishing and squidding with my grandchildren. Fishing licence fees to increase from july 8
Submitted by meglodon on Wed, 2017-06-28 22:35Did every body see the big announcement about the fishing licence fees to increase by $5.00 as from July 8.
No
Well you would have to have looked hard to find the notification about the increase in all fees, it was hidden away towards the back of my local news paper this brings up the cost of each licence to $45.00 and a fishing from boat licence to $35.00.
This is the first increase in 7 years so I guess that's not to bad.
I think it's just a shame that this increase wasn't given a more prominent place in the paper and I haven't seen anything in the West Australian news paper about the increase. I don't have a gripe against the rise, 7 years without an increase isn't doing to bad I think.

Boat fishing tag along?
Submitted by smp on Wed, 2017-06-28 09:01Hi all
I'm relatively new to Perth and at some point in the future would be keen to get a tinnie and head out for some boat fishing. Meanwhile wondering if anyone has any space their boat to gain experience, get some good fishing and boating advice etc etc? Happy to contribute to fuel / boat costs etc and help out in any way I can be useful?
Cheers

New Boat Build - Genesis 730xl transducer time ..
Submitted by Australiamaid on Tue, 2017-06-27 20:42
G'day everyone,
I dont normally write too much on here but I will give it a crack. After much procrastinating and a lot of indecision I have recently ordered a custom boat to be built by GenesisCraft and am hoping to document the build on here for all to enjoy.
After initial consultation with numerous boat builders I felt immediately comfortable dealing with Matt at Genesis, nothing has been a drama or too much of a hassell. He was only too happy to get a quote out to me late on christmas eve and even said to call over the chrissy break if needed. Fast forward six months and this great customer service has not waivered at all. Another selling point to me was the quality of work which was second to none - I could not fault a thing (myself being a welder trust me I looked hard).
Boat overview:
730xl Hard top with custom ally Genesis trailer
250 Yamaha - will be fitted further down the track
sounders - two 12 in simrads ..transducers
Anyway pics of work to date and will post updates as I get them. Cheers

Ebay Boat Covers
Submitted by Bucko on Tue, 2017-06-27 10:57I know this topic has been done before, but these cheap e-bay products seem to change all the time.
Has anyone used the Kaiser brand boat covers like this one:
For $200 odd bucks, its pretty cheap for a cover on a 6.7m boat.
If I could get 2 years out of it, I would be happy.
Anyone got any feedback on these?
Cheers
