No freedom of speech ?
Submitted by Stickbait6 on Thu, 2018-11-01 14:31So the previous thread got shut down because ?
People were simply voicing opinions an experience”s an no names or business names were discussed.
Did the business owner see that the truth was coming out and didn’t like what he saw ?
Poor taste..... truth comes out sooner or later and karma is a bitch .

Bull sharks in the Murray/Serpentine?
Submitted by tadpole on Thu, 2018-11-01 07:47Having moved to Pinjarra recently, my interest in catching a small bull shark has been rekindled. Just wondering if its worth the effort pulling a couple of all nighters on the Murray or Serpentine rivers? Every google search I've tried directs me towards the Swan river. Not after a big shark (I don't have the gear for anything too big) but just good eating size. Cheers

Fishing cart
Submitted by chris1108 on Wed, 2018-10-31 23:33I'm looking for recommendations on fishing carts for the beach, rocks, etc.
I need one within the next two days either assembled or that I can assemble in a short period of time.
I've already bought one from a certain company, but there are defects with it and it won't go together.
So if anyone can recommend something that I could buy and collect by Saturday, that would be superb. Thanks.

Arnhem Land
Submitted by Robpado on Wed, 2018-10-31 16:19Gday fisho's,
In the planning stages of a trip to Arnhem land and am after info and stories from crew that have done the trip. Places you went /stayed and fished. Would love to take the bar crusher but not keen on the amount of dirt and off road needed to see the best parts so we will be taking a 480 topender which will do the job nicley.
Any advice from perople that have done the trip would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

Solution for Derby Barramundi Resource Sharing and politics
Submitted by Meeuwissen on Tue, 2018-10-30 18:00recfishwest.org.au/news/solution-for-derby-barramundi-resource-sharing/?utm_source=Members+First&utm_campaign=7110959b66-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_10_29_03_54&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_1caa0fe7e8-7110959b66-162136593
Another buy back fantastic but lets dig a little closer. Full disclosure i use to work for this guy (only for a few swings) he has been compensated for part of his license. He went out of his way to stir up trouble by unloading our catch at the local jetty in Derby. Mary island fishing club and Broome fishing club made sure they were heard and good on Recfish annd wafic for working together.
My problem is that they won't disclose the amount he was compensated. I contacted both WAFIC and Recfish and neither could give me a answer. Matt From recfish said the amount shouldn't matter and its a great win. Ok mate even on the fisheries website it says what the money gets used for "Funds raised through recreational fishing licences help us to manage the State’s fish resources effectively. Recreational fishing licences are also used to inform us of who is fishing for what and from where. All the money generated from recreational fishing licences is reinvested in initiatives that directly benefit recreational fishing in Western Australia"
what they actually bought of him was a tiny area and i feel as though the amount should be disclosed is it unreasonable as it comes from recreational licenses?

Kalbarri trip
Submitted by chris1108 on Mon, 2018-10-29 17:51I'm heading up to Kalbarri next week from the 5th to the 9th November.
Will anyone else be up there during that time? I'll be fishing around Wagoe, Wittecarra and Chinaman's over the four nights I'm there.
I'm planning on fishing the full tides, so will be out during the evenings and taking it easy during the early hours.
I haven't seen Kalbarri in 20 years so looking forward to seeing this superb place again.
New to Perth
Submitted by Puku on Mon, 2018-10-29 14:01Hello All
I have recently relocated from Cairns and having done loads of fishing in and around the great waters off Cairns and Cook town, I am looking at getting into some of the fishing around Perth and especially the FADS where I might find some similar species to what I was used to up there, obviously the further North I go I realise I will find similar locations.
I am however interested in someone assisting me with ideas and or spots (esp. coordinates of the FADS) I can only seem to find the last co-ordinate and that was in 2016 and it was mentioned on a site that they have moved??
Please help me out and send me a note esp. if I can tag along and or take you with me :):)
Thanks
Puku

Opinions on Wagon vs UTE
Submitted by joycey on Sat, 2018-10-27 22:58Hi all,
Looking at an upgrade in my car which will be for day to day driving to work / family duties (wife and 2kids) and boat towing.
Will be required to tow boat of approx 2.5 tonne
Considering getting a Ute ( never had a Ute before, only had SUV’s so far) such as ranger/hilux/bt50/dmax etc or a wagon such as Isuzu MUX/Ford Everest / Holden trailblazer etc.
The utes are generally rated to to 3.2-3.5tonne whilst the wagons listed tow 3tonne.
Since never owned ute (had SUV’s only so far), hoping to get some advice /recommendations regarding Utes or Wagons in regards to above
Cheers
Joycey

Crab cleaning query
Submitted by black gen on Fri, 2018-10-26 19:04Have been discussing with a mate this theory today and not sure on the legalities
open to conversation
haven’t had a chance to catch a fisheries officer to quiz him
so when I’m crabbing once im home I process my crabs by peeling the shell off and cleaning them before cooking as I steam them and have found it’s much cleaner when eating without all the shell and guts
so here’s the question
once I’ve landed back on the beach with my crabs which are sized and within bag limits, can I clean them on the beach and take home my processed crabs putting the shells back in the water? They come from the ocean can’t see the difference to filleting a fish for strip bait and returning the carcass
Wheres the point where a catch is ‘landed’?
as I said open to see what people think as I haven’t don’t this yet but will save me from
dealing with all the offal once home
cheers

squid recipes
Submitted by Mack1 on Thu, 2018-10-25 07:21Hi everyone, I am looking for some new squid recipes. I do mine a couple of ways, flour, egg and breadcrumbs then deep fried for a minute or two. the other is more popular and is an Italian method.
YOU NEED
2 or 3 squid hoods and tenticles. this recipe is fine for just tenticles or just hoods also.
MARINADE
juice of 1 lemon, (bottle juice is fine)
about the same amount of olive oil or vege oil to the amount of lemon juice
1 cove of garlic finely chopped
a handful of fresh parsley finely chopped.
a pinch of salt optional.
mix all ingredients together in a airtight container.
METHOD
clean your 2 or 3 squid, tenticles are good to add in. Cut the hoods into rings and the tenticles into bight size bits. Boil in satled water for 30-40 mins, (up to 60 mins is fine for melt in your mouth tenderness). drain and cool.
mix into marinade toss and stir, (an air tight tupperware container is good for this, turn upside down and shake). Put into the fridge. can be eaten
straight away but 2 or more hours in the fridge is way better. can be left in the fridge for a few days.
Jim
