Submitted by Bodie on Mon, 2020-09-14 13:20Hi All

Given i dont really have the tools and the height it needs to be installed, windering if anyone has used someone to install these?
Tried a couple guys on gumtree with no response from either. :\

First Queenie on popper
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Sun, 2020-09-13 11:44 Up in hedland again but this time I decided I would give lures a go. Never used them much from the beach but nailed my first Queenie on popper and it's a pb. Great fun on light gear only a $20 k mart combo after my last reel died. They certainly like to jump

Footy season
Submitted by timboon on Mon, 2020-09-07 08:10Well she's starting to get to the pointy end...
Big game coming up this week with Richmond V Geelong...
Could very well be the game that sets up the top 4...
Danger game for the Eagles this week against the Saints, a game they should win...
Port all but locked into top two and in my opinion the team to beat...
Geelong are flying and one more win will secure top 4 same for the Lions ( unless the Eagles have two big wins )
Richmond can't go to sleep now otherwise the Eagles could relegate them to 5th and a straight sets exit would go down like a lead balloon...
Melbourne still have a glimmer of hope, It looks like they are the only team outside the 8 that could steal a T8 finish...
Collingwoods draw against Richmond could be very handy to slot them inside the 8....

Quobba blowholes
Submitted by Yewiefish85 on Mon, 2020-08-31 09:31Hi guys and girls, I was wondering about tides to visit the Quobba blowholes, I’m assuming the best time would be on a rising tide?, also is there any safe place to fish around this area to fish with young kids? , I have seen on the net that to the south there is some beach areas, I know there is a protected area around the “Quobba aquarium” but can I fish further south?
Cheers Yewie

Help with a sell price
Submitted by Swompa on Sun, 2020-08-30 21:10Evening all.
I am wanting to sell my 5 hp 2 stroke Yamaha outboard. It is currently my camping motor but was originally purchased around 10 years ago as an auxiliary though it was never placed on the boat, it just sat in the shed.
It has done around ~10 hours in its life across three camping boats, is physically spotless and runs without issue.
As a 2 stroke, it is light compared to the 4 strokes.
Any suggestions as to what I would ask to get for it?
I am in no hurry to sell but intend to get a 15hp.

Lucky Boys
Submitted by carnarvonite on Sun, 2020-08-30 19:55Was speeaking to seargent in charge of Shark Bay this morning, conversation came up about last weeks sea rescue mission.
Seems three bloke took off from Denham in a 3.5 metre dinghy and headed over to Useless Loop to do some fishing, strong sea breeze came in and boat over turned tossing them and all their gear in to the drink. They can thank their lucky stars that they had an epirb with them because as Bondy said, they wouldn't be here today.

Heading down to Hamelin Bay in 4 weeks for the first time. Will be takling Kayak so heading out into the bay.

Dawn session in hedland
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Sun, 2020-08-16 14:53Its typical woke up too damn early for a Sunday with no work. Still dark but no wind and high tide in 3 hours . Decision was made. Early breakfast and coffee and off to the beach. Arrived and got set up as the sun was rising over the horizon . Soon enough the whiting were biting and they were still going strong when I had my limit. Nothing big today as the damn crabs kept stealing the bait

Butcher’s Block Restoration Options?
Submitted by Mick C on Sat, 2020-08-15 20:02Our current house is being demolished as the owner wants to build a 4 story place with 12 car garage. Caught up with him today and asked if I could have the old butcher’s block that was at the house. Happily he agreed.

I would like to generally restore it as a filleting station, and am seeking members views on the best options. Don’t know what the timber is, but it has lasted a long time in the salt air. Was thinking of taking the top inch off with a chainsaw, chiselling the bark then sanding/oiling?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. Mick

Hilux tyre upgrade
Submitted by NORUN NOFUN on Wed, 2020-08-12 10:59Gday guys, I'm really not much of a tyre/rim expert but I have an 08 stock standard SR5 dual cab hilux ( no lift kit) and the tyres are at the replacement stage. I have standard 255/70R15 C's at the moment and have toyed with the idea of going larger. I need to spend money on new tyres and as there are plenty of guys on here with good knowledge, what do you think I should do ? Just stick to the same rims and replace with a good tyre ( recommendations please, I prefer an all terrain to cover most bases) ? or go slightly bigger but not so much that I need upgrades to suspension ? I do a bit of beach work and odd 4wd but nothing out of the ordinary. I have thought about a lift kit but I will not own the car long enough to justify spending more, just looking at options and seeking opinions.
Cheers
Scotty

Gold fever
Submitted by Gadsy on Sun, 2020-08-09 07:36Found my first piece of gold yesterday out here at Meekatharra. Was hiding in between the roots of a tree and boy was I over the moon when I dug it out. A nice 2.8 gram specimen. Hoping I can find lots more of the shiny stuff now. This prospecting gig is hard work, but starting to get the hang of it now.

Rottnest Island Entrance fees and charges for 2020 - 2021 look to have gone up!
Submitted by Escape on Wed, 2020-08-05 16:08I have only received one renewal out of two so far and that renewal is for annual entrance to the Island. It looks like it has gone up by around about 2% even though the Island was closed to boating for 3 months or so this year. No credits no fee reductions. It made me look at mooring licencee renewal fees and they look to have gone up even more!!
I cant believe they could think we will ban you from Island for 3 months (during arguably the best Easter period for ages) and not consider any form of credit or fee reduction.
I've had my whinge now and feeling slightly better - .....kind of......

Camping Suggestions
Submitted by Lavs on Tue, 2020-08-04 17:09Gday Folks,
I am trying to organise a camping trip for a group of lads in a few weeks time and looking for suggestions of where to go.
Criteria is as follows
-within 2.5 hours of Perth
-softroader accessible (all 4WDs but theres an Xtrail in the mix). This rules out a lot of my go-to spots.
-No campgrounds, we want to be able to have a few cans and a few laughs without worrying about neighbours.
-ideally on some water (i.e a river, a dam etc).
I've heard that there are areas along the Collie river that you can find a spot and pull up to camp but I just cant find any solid information on which parts or how accessible it is.
The Waroona and Wellington Dams are possibilities (done Wellington before). I scoped out Wellington Dam last weekend and it was very empty around the parts that are easily accessible - maybe I attacked it from the wrong end (SE).
Any ideas appreciated - PM me if its your secret spot :)
Cheers,
Dave

17 Hornet
Submitted by timboon on Mon, 2020-08-03 21:42Fellas I'm thinking about buying one of the newish 17 Hornets... I used to use one as a youngster and was probably the most fun rifle I've ever shot ( necked down 22 hornet back in the day )...
My question is, well firstly does anyone have one??
Secondly, what power optics are guys running....
I'm pretty sure the 17 Rem and 17 Hornet we used to use both had 8 x 56 khales on em...
I'll be doing a fair bit of hunting at at night under a light or in low light conditions...
Anyone got a ripper scope they can recommend without having to mortgage the house??
